Looking at the production bible of G1 from @escapistsatellite's link, and some of these are just pure gold.

Like this - I just love how straightforward and funny the summary of each character is. "Tough old guy" in particular got me (didn't realize that Cliff turned into a small Porche, though. He and Jazz have that in common, sweet.)

Love the fact that Ironhide is Optimus' bodyguard is mentioned here, though I could swear somewhere he'd taught Optimus how to fight. "Gruff but kind" sums him up perfectly (outside of the three parter, I don't recall Ironhide breaking down more often than the others, but maybe my memory is failing me.)
