Hello critters!! I’m sorry I’ve been sort of mia, I think I mentioned before, but I’m in the process of moving and it’s taking longer than expected. I could not sleep for the life of me last night though so I just started doodling and this is what happened. New pfp maybe? Idk. Fuck I’m tired

I have not, but I’d certainly be happy to try my hand at one! For the golden lion tamarin, there probably wouldn’t even be any felt involved, just foam clay and fur. Whereas something like a squirrel monkey or a macaque would be felted the same way as most my masks. The gorilla would probably be the same as the tamarin, but I might try and make its ears out of EVA foam instead of felt so that they wouldn’t be fuzzy but would still be flexible and durable.

Getting your tail is so freaking exciting thooo- Also thank you so much ;-;

Ah gotcha that makes sense! Yeah, who knows, could have a breed, could be mixed beyond knowing, cats are honestly so hard to figure out though. No that’s so fair- gear is so freaking cool. I still have not gotten to make a raccoon and I really really want to one of these days, they are very silly. I’d love to make another deer mask though, it’s been a minute since I have, and I adore making birds in general!

Those are two peak creatures right there who and I would absolutely love to do either! I actually just finished my first feline mask (an eurasian lynx who I will hopefully get around to posting soon-) and painting all the intricate markings was extremely fun. And snow leopards are one of the prettiest big cats in my opinion, I love them very much. Maned wolves have been one of my favorite overall animals for years- they are such gorgeous, spindly little guys and I love their thin little faces-

These are mask comms that I finished in February and never posted cuz I was still recovering from top surgery- super freaking happy with this mourning dove and how sweet looking their face came out-

I’ve been very very intensely bird shifty recently and I honestly kinda want to remake my crow mask. We’re in the midst of moving at the moment, but once we’re at the new place, I’m gonna start on some prototype wings, because the mask really doesn’t cut it with wing shifts. I miss having wing prosthetics that fit, but I’ve grown out of all mine and I NEED new ones.

FIRST CETACEAN!!! Figuring out how to make mask that maintains visibility while simultaneously still looking like a dolphin was complicated oh my gods- I am quite pleased with how it did turn out tho. If I do make others in the future, I think I am gonna try and find a different method of making the surface beyond using slightly smother fabric to cover it and putting five hundred layers of primer on it ;-;

I love this rat. So much. And this is the very first time I’d done whiskers; I just used fishing line, but I think they look pretty good and seemed to hold up alright!

AHHHH OH MY GODS GUYS- I just found such a simple way to get species euphoria for both my kintypes it feels fucking illegal- I was doing this eyeliner with opossum’s eye markings in mind, but then it turned out also reminding me a lot of jackdaws’ eye markings as well and- ahhhh- it’s so subtle too. I look and the mirror and I’m immediately just like BIRD, it’s lovely. Anyway. If any of your species have eye markings, this’s your sign to try doing makeup inspired by it I guess

Hello! This actually made me finally sit down and mess around with some concepts, I’ve been meaning to for a while. But yeah, I actually think a crocodile would work pretty good cuz their eyes aren’t even that far apart. Also have a complimentary frog and gecko lol I’m not so sure about the fish though? I tried? I think there are probably some species that would be easier than others, idk honestly.

But yes, I would absolutely love to try my hand at reptiles one of these days!

As of right now I do not- Mostly because, while there is a method to my madness, it’s not a very cut and clean one and it’s sort of hard to explain without being hands on with someone. There’s a lot of weird squinching of foam core until it does what I say and gets rounded. I do have a vague mental pattern for the muzzles though, that varies in proportion depending on the look I’m going for. Idk how it would look without squinching it, but. I could try and make a pattern and put it on etsy, ye *nodnod* might take a minute though cuz life is a little crazy rn ;-;

Hi! I’ve actually been considering making a backstory post at some point, mostly cuz I wanna know if other people have similar experiences, but. Initially, I wasn’t even looking for a theriotype, I just have always assigned animals to people around me as well as my characters to understand them better- like what animal they are most similar to in personality when behavior- and when I was around fourteen/fifteen, I started trying to figure out what I would be, honestly, not what I wished I was, but what I actually would be. And so it just started with a list of characteristics, behaviors, instincts, and habitat preferences I had in common with them. (quiet, reclusive, usually solitary, but with exceptions for family, will make a show of being big and scary when threatened, but will hold off biting as long as possible, relies mostly on hearing and sense of smell, often found in trees, very high pain tolerance and usually non confrontational even when hurt, at the time, my safe foods were yogurt and eggs, becomes a mindless wandering beast in winter, yearning only for spring, etc. I also have a neurological condition that, among other things, can render me temporarily paralyzed if you startle me really bad or throw something at me, which was a large reason why I even looked into them to begin with) I’ve always had ear and pouch phantom shifts, I don’t ever remember not having them, but I didn’t really learn that therianthropy was a thing until I was seventeen, and it was from somebody spouting the typical “kids forcing their school to let them piss in a litter box in the corner of the classroom” type shit, and only actually looked into what it really was over the summer. I don’t necessarily have as many proper prehensile tail shifts where I can actually feel it, more just instances where I trip or lose my balance and expect it to be there to catch me but it’s not. Idk if that makes sense. My mom and I got licensed for wildlife rehab shortly after I turned eighteen, and we now specialize in opossums- and getting to interact with them face to face and and learn all their little habits and eccentricities has very much solidified that I am, in fact, one of them. Sorry if that’s kinda chaotic, idk if it actually helps at all T-T

It’s a bunch of strips of core board that I taped together at the ends so they were little tubes, and then cut indents into them so they would hinge. Then I tied together the sides of them that didn’t have the dent, hot glued another piece of string to the very last “vertebrae” and ran the rest of that string all the way through to the other end of the tail. When you pull it, it curls :D
