i really liked that supergirl didnt include any long corny speeches but rather let the narrative speak for itself, i think its themes are far more impactful that way
honestly, i too would react this given the situation
women supporting women 💪
why is he so me 💀
i dont think you underatand how much i appreciate that supergirl was under 2 hr long
al would NEVER, how dare you imply such a thing
10/10, looks exactly like him
she's just a girl 🥺🌸
^^^ me when i get a tummy ache
richeh literally the goat
obsession fr felt like a supernatural episode but i may be biased
kara was so han solo coded in a way i cant quite explain and i love that for her
i really really loved how the supergirl 2026 movie subverted the 'if you kill them ur no better then them' trope, i loved that the conflict was not that he doesnt deserve to die but rather that ruthye deserves to not have to kill him, that she is just a child and should not have to carry that burden along with everything she had already been through. i really loved how kara killing him recontextulizes her actions leading up to that moment, how it becomes clear that it was never her intention to let him live, but to keep ruthye safely away from the fight.
ive always disliked the anti revenge narrative because sometime people do just do things that are unforgivable and wont be stopped by the current system, but here kara never said ruthye should forgive him, but rather that ruthye deserved to live on and it is made far more impactfull by the fact that it is in the same fight where kara accepts the suit and truly becomes supergirl. superman is the shield, supergirl is the sword, supergirl fights so girls like ruthye dont have to.
i for one loved supergirl, maybe its just the grunge space nerdy feminist in me but i will hear no criticism
one piece 🤝 star wars 🤝 the hobbit / LOTR :
stories abt pretty banger political themes that get completely ignored and the fan base become most widely known for the exact people and behaviors the message was targeting
ok so there has been a lot of discussion about how much of grace's recordings are going to be released and how it is prob not going to be made public that he didnt go willingly, but i think we should talk more about how much conspiracy theories are going to pop up about the whole thing when its all over with bc i think they are going to be WILD
we already know there is some degree of public uncertainty about whether or not the sun is even in danger in the first place and the government(s) are keeping knowledge of the whole thing pretty under wraps so i dont think it is a reach to say the whole time things would be pretty jaring for people and a wide array of opinions spreading fulled by the fear of losing the sun
after its all over, i think this would probably largely fade out except for in fringe groups where conspiracy would run wild and i think where this genuinely gets interesting is that there elements that happened they could dig into although i doubt anyone would be even close to the actual conspiracies (ie grace not wanting to go to space). hours upon hours of grace teaching rocky pop culture being cut from the portions of the video tapes released to the public? CONSPIRACY! the tapes only starting after the crew dies? the portions of grace regaining his memory or missing home being cut? CONSPIRACY somehow one middle school teacher discovering three separate alien species? CONSPIRACY!! and so many more possibilities
just a disclaimer tho i have only watched the movie, i have not yet got around to reading the book
