While Veritas' voiceline about Aventurine is overall normal, it's Aventurine's Voiceline towards Veritas that was weird to me.
Like wdym "Ratio doesn't care for me much either."???
This could be either, Aventurine being self-deprecating or bro just straight-up lies to us.

Or a secret third option!! (Source? ME/ j)
Idk, but that line kinda reminds me of Kaveh's "We aren't exactly friends."
So I just thought of a fake scenario where P35 Kakavasha began working with Post-Nous Rejection Veritas. What if they first met one another, but the roles were reversed.
Kakavasha still has a semblance of his will to live because atp, he was still trying to become a Stoneheart to go back and help his people.
Meanwhile, Veritas was the one who is lost in life because he realized the thing he's worked so hard towards is unatainable. Just him figuring out where to go from there.
And The Planetary-weapon was their first project together.
They didn't get along at first but eventually they do (through shenanigans) and once they were out drinking, Veritas talked about the Nous rejection to Kakavasha.
Veritas talked about how he's worked his entire life yet could not beget Nous' gaze, while his greatness shone so brightly that even his greatest failure is seen as an achievement.
(That's how I now feel about Veritas' character story section regarding Nous' Gaze. My interpretation was that not only does Veritas have to deal with the fact that he could not become a member of the Genius Society, but also the fact that the people around him was so blinded by his greatness that they couldn't even treat it normally. Like not obtaining his life's goal is actually a proof that he is even BETTER than the Geniuses somehow.)
At that Kakavasha just thought and said something along the line of "Dear Professor, maybe Nous doesn't gaze at you because you don't need THEM."
(My way of trying to understand the Nous situation is like Computer Science and String Theory, if that makes sense? While String Theory is important in expanding our knowledge about the universe, Computer Science is a bit more pratical. None of which is better than the other, they just kinda serve different purpose.)
That line stuck with Veritas and it was a starting point for him to start rebuilding a new life, not for Nous, but for HIMSELF this time.
And Kakavasha was happy to watch his friend build his life back on the sidelines. Things were fine, they parted ways for a while chasing their goals.
Veritas worked hard to build himself back, find out what he actually wanted, getting therapy for his academic trauma. Meanwhile, Kakavasha worked tirelessly to become a Stoneheart.
Veritas was estatic to hear the news that his friend became Aventurine, the new Stoneheart. Planning to meet him at his promotion ceremony to congratulate him. But when he met Aventurine, it's...weird, something happened that changed his friend. While yes, Kakavasha has always had low self-preservation, he still looked like he had something to live for.
But now? Things' gotten way worse.
And Veritas tried to ask but all he got was Kakavasha diverting or dodging his questions. He kept trying to ask until Kakavasha blurted out something hurtful to Veritas. About how Veritas is trying to help others and him to just to fill the void because Nous doesn't NEED HIM.
They still continue to work together after that, but it's not the same anymore. And the hurtful words weren't even brought up.
Aventurine, assuming the worst, just thought that he'd pushed the only person he had left away and he was too much of a coward to muster an apology. While Veritas, hurt by Aventurine didn't want to bring it up at the risk of making things worse and Aventurine turning away forever.
So uh they kinda stuck there.
Cue slowburn reconciliation with the climax being in Penacony.
And BOOM, I just invented BULLSHJT out of one voiceline.
I don't know, I just think it's an interesting dynamic for the two of them to have :/
