My worst nightmare becomes dream

So I go hiking every week and honestly there’s nothing like it, I feel like a little fairy frolicking through the woods. Soooo sometimes I do just that… frolic I mean(I’m 6’2” 210 lbs btw so I’m sure it looks even more ridiculous) and normally the closest person to me is like two miles away,so I can prance in peace, but today… that was not the case.

‘Twas mid frolic when I met eyes with another hiker, my worst nightmare. My mind immediately tried to think of potential excuses for my whimsical behavior but alas, there is never a logistical reason to frolic hahaha.

We maintained eye contact as though two bucks from rivaling territories were about to lock horns, but after what felt like an eternity of eye gaze, we both just burst out with laughter, we laughed for what must have been a solid 1-2 minutes or so, exchanged contact info and went on our merry way.

I think this is, and most likely will always be, the most genuine human connection I have ever made in my life
