âYou better not be.â
âOr what? Iâm not all that scared of you, little Carrow.â
âIâm not concerned with being attractive at the moment, Rodolphus, so kindly stuff your sarcastic tone,â Narcissa scowled, but let out a sigh of relief when she felt the urge pass. âDonât worry, I wonât.âÂ
âOoh so bossy, must be a hormonal thing. Tell me, is it your time of the month?â he questioned seriously, shaking his head in mock sympathy.
âPlease move, darling, before I get sick on your shoes.â
âThatâs very attractive, Cissa, please. Iâm so turned on right now. Iâd rather you didnât retch in front of me, if at all possible.â
Bad company corrupts good character
(via raidient)
âAre you mocking me, Rod? Because I donât like that.â
âMe? Why, I would never, my dear!â
âA simple woman! When has your wife ever been simple? That she-devil is out of her mind! She should be locked up in Azkaban!â
âSounds like you need to grow a pair and stop being such a pansy little thing, Carrow. I have no problem with my wifeâs.........antics.â
âThatâs what I heard.â
âPerhaps you should get those little ears of yours checked, be sure there isnât some creature blocking your hearing.â
âYeah, yeah. Shouldnât you be keeping your wife in line, you know the crazy witch almost disfigured me at Halloween, threw a glass at my face!â
âThatâs not problem you canât stand up to a simple woman. Iâm not her keeper, you know.â
Home of the Strange | Bellatrix & Rodolphus
It was those days when neither of them were working that Bellatrix avoided the house most. She didnât care much for what her husband got up to there, though it was some irritant whenever she came home to find heâd been entertaining someone in his bed. She didnât care for him and felt not even an inkling of jealousy whenever he did this. Her displeasure came from an awareness of how this would reflect upon her good name in the public eye. Sheâd urged Rodolphus time and time again to keep his behavior discreet, but that didnât mean she had any faith that he would do so.
It was past supper and her breath smelled of strong liquor by the time she got herself home. Lights turned on by themselves as she entered the foyer of the Lestrange Estate, and she dumped her outer robes on top of a waiting house elf. Already she was sure she could smell him home. Her nose wrinkled as if she had walked in on something pungent.
Their usual arrangement was separate bedrooms; her choice, since she couldnât stand sharing a bed with her own husband. Or anyone, really. But the rest of the place was shared. She liked to steal the sunny living spaces during the day, then go out prowling on her Lordâs work in the evening. It was in passing through the living area they shared that she stopped short, noticing that her husband had the misfortune of being in the same room she wanted to be in.
Nose still wrinkled, Bellatrix gave a loud huff at the sight of him. âYouâre still awake,â she remarked with disdain, though it was a little too early for bed yet, at least for her.
The Lestrange Manor was quiet and dark this evening, which Rodolphus absolutely loved. He spent the days he wasnât on assignment relaxing, mostly napping or catching up on whatever book or newspaper article caught his fancy. If he was feeling particularly relaxed, heâd find whatever hussy girl he could and spend the day in bed, whether or not his wife was home or not. He knew it bothered her and that was why he kept his extramarital affairs so public. Anything to make his darling other half happy, he laughed to himself.
On this night, he found himself in one of the spacious parlors, enjoying a few hours of peace and relaxation. He really didnât care where Bellatrix happened to be on this evening, actually preferring her being anywhere else right now. He had some book he had found in their library, a history on the modern use of dark arts, and seemed to be mildly engrossed in it, until he felt it. The air changed and the lights were flickering on down the hallway. Fantastic, the misses was home.
She had no idea he was in here, it was obvious. Her face and behavior changed the moment she sensed him though. Merlin did he dislike this woman. He set the book down on the side table next to him, sighing softly. âGood evening, love, itâs such a pleasure to see you again,â he greeted, smirking half heartedly. Thereâs was not a marriage for love or even the slightest affection. It was a marriage of power, of necessity, of nobility. He hated the woman for reasons more than could be listed.Â
âAre you saying I donât deserve to be happy?â
âI donât believe that was what I said.â
âAnd here I thought I was being cocky. Donât flatter yourself mate, youâre not my type.â
âAnd here I thought I was everyoneâs type, harsh Carrow. You wound me.â
âCareful, Ames, people might think weâre together and I just canât have ruin your reputation with my good looks.â
âReally? I heard a rumor that everything suited me.â
âSpoken like a true Carrow, thinking the world revolves completely around their happiness.â
âI know itâs hard, but Iâm sure even you can stop focusing on my face for a minute.â
âModesty doesnât suit you, Madame Carrow. Nice attempt, though.â
âIâm just thinkingâŠPeople do that you know.â
âWell, think somewhere else, I canât focus with you looking at me like that.....â
âWhy? Do you want my tongue?â Gwen rolled her eyes a bit at herself. Who in the name of Merlin said something like that?
Rod chuckled to himself, so surprised at this girl's not so subtle flirting. "I'm willing to take whatever it is you can give me, love. Perhaps your name will be good enough first?"
