a/n: i got a few requests with prompts that would fit well together and that's how i ended up here
her breath was ragged when she deflected his blows and punches. his crimson blade cut swiftly through the humid air of the island, leaving her on defense.
"focus."
qimir said sharply, changing his angle. her distraction was betrayed by her sloppy moves, and eyes darting around.
he was never easy on her, nor would he be this time.
she rose her blade, desperately aiming for his chest. but before she could do anything, he grabbed her wrist, twisting it behind her. her lightsaber fell out of her hand.
she let out a scream, biting her lip to distract herself from the pain. her knees hit the rocky ground, and her master's lightsaber hoovered way too close to her neck.
qimir stood behind her, holding her in place. he clicked his tongue.
"you disappoint me, acolyte."
she swallowed. she wasn't used to how his voice sounded yet. it had been a few days since he finally revealed his face. he gave her a task then. she went alone and completed what he asked for, but paid a price- a fatal injury. if it wasn't for qimir that was waiting for her on the ship, she would've been dead. he healed her wounds. that's how she found out. but ever since he did so, all she could think about during training was how good he looked, the memory of his hands on her skid very vivid. she thought that of qimir before too, but now with his hair slicked back and arms on display... she tried, really tried to push away the ill thoughts of her master, but he wasn't making it easy for her either. as if he was doing it on purpose.
"forgive me, master, I-" he cut her off by pushing her hand further against her back. she bit back a whimper.
"oh, don't apologise to me." he pushed her arm harder against her back, and she bit back a whimper.
then, suddenly he let her go. she composed herself quickly, standing up and turning around to face him. she swallowed. the feeling of his hand gripping her wrist lingered for longer than it should've.
"will you tell me what's going with you? or do i have to find out myself?" he inquired.
she kept her mouth shut, trying to control every movement, every breath she took in. she fought not to back away when her master took a step closer, tilting his head. his eyes locked with hers.
qimir smirked seeing her flushed cheeks. he always pushed her to her limits, and this was no exception. he leaned down, close enough to feel her uneven breath on his skin.
she didn't even feel her sore muscles when his lips ghosted over hers, and for a split second a strange amount on hope buzzed in her stomach.
then he pulled away, and she unintentionally chased his lips. when she realised what she was doing, embarrassment weighted down on her, and she looked down, shifting nervously.
"i-i'm sorry, master i-"
qimir smirked. his hand came to lift her chin up.
"hmm, there it is. i was the reason for your distraction?"
she couldn't look or step away even if she wanted. qimir's gaze was keeping her in place. she wasn't sure how to even answer him.
"i'll do better."
he scoffed.
"i'm sure you will." he said calmly, letting go of her. immediately as he did so, her eyes dropped to the ground again. he raised his eyebrow.
"if you want something, then ask for it."
her throat went dry. what was he talking about...? she wanted him to do many things, ones that she'd never say out loud. but qimir didn't like to repeat himself. she knew that. if she stayed silent, he'd walk away. never mention the topic again. but if she didn't...
she exhaled shakily.
"i want you." the words came out of her mouth before she could realise what she was saying.
silence hung between them, interrupted by the wind hitting the tall rocks, and waves crashing on the shore.
"please...master." she added quietly, not being able to bear the silence.
qimir seemed pleased.
"since you asked so nicely..." he murmured. his eyes were dark, and his hands rested on her lower back as he pulled her close.
despite the cold breeze, she felt so warm when his lips finally pressed against hers. she imagined that many times before, what would he feel like, what would be the sensation of his skin under her palms. she parted her lips slightly, wanting to stay like that-
but he pulled away as quickly as he leaned in, an amused glint in his eyes.
"we should head back." he pointed out.
she could swear she never walked as fast in her entire life.
qimir followed close behind, his eyes looking her up and down.
as soon as she stepped inside the cave, she was back in his arms. the stone wall behind her was a contrast to the heat radiating from his body. hands on her hips kept her firmly in place, right where he wanted her.
qimir's lips detached from hers, traveling down her neck. he enjoyed how reactive she was. every kiss, every bite and squeeze was making her whimper.
"when was the last time someone fucked you, hm?" he questioned, right into her ear.
she shivered, and shook her head.
no one, since she became his apprentice. first of all, not having time nor space, and second, being qimir himself.
"don't worry." his raspy voice echoed in her head. "i'll make you feel good."
oh she didn't doubt that. her master was percise and deliberate in every task he took upon himself.
the force buzzed around them, and she gave herself in.
alarm bells rang in her head. this was wrong. qimir was her master. whatever that was about to happes would complicate things further. what would mae think if she found out that they-
"you're distracted again." he stated in a displeased tone. he wasn't having any of that. if she was with him, the only thing on her mind should be how good he makes her feel. he will make sure of that.
"i-i apologise, master- oh."
qimir cut her off with his hand sneaking under her tunic, traveling down her belly and past the waistband of her trousers. as much as he wanted to hide it, he was desperate as well. his breath was hot on her neck, making her shudder.
she gasped when he pushed her underwear to the side.
"master..."
a weak plea escaped her throat.
"just focus on me, acolyte. it seems like we could turn this into a lesson..."
hiiii! i absolutely love your imagines of Qimir! could I request a fic where you ask him to pretend to be ur boyfriend because there's some sketchy people following you?

a/n: first of all thank you!! second of all, HELP THIS IS MY FAVOURITE TROPE how did you know...
"qimir!"
she tugged at his sleeve urgently, visibly uncomfortable. she could sense that they were being followed, and even with her force and combat abilities, she didn't think she could just take down twenty men. armed men. in a busy market. well, she might have or might have not just killed a syndicate member, but... well she was tasked with it by her master- whom the pyke wronged.
"i know!"
qimir jabbered, pulling her further into the crowd. but there was no use- the chase was only getting closer and closer.
she wasn't keen on dying, or getting captured. her master wouldn't be so pleased to find her locked in a cell- and besides- she definitely didn't want qimir to get hurt. she scanned the surroundings, looking for a way out, or at least a hiding spot.
"you were in that business not too long ago! think of something, for force's sake!"
she nudged his arm, feeling more surrounded every minute.
"well, i wasn't assassinating pykes! just smuggling weapons!"
qimir huffed, then suddenly lowered his head to not get recognised by one of the guards.
and that gave her an idea... a very desperate one, but they might have just needed desperate measures.
"follow me!"
she urged, yanking him towards a busy alley. the sky was darkening, casting shadows on the narrow area, and that was exactly what she needed.
"hey! what are you-"
qimir protested as she backed up behind stacked crates and pulled him with her, but closed his mouth immediately as he saw just how close they were.
the silence hung heavy in the air, and the angry voices of the guards were heard closer to their location. they needed to hide. now.
"qimir."
she muttered, catching his attention. her hands came up behind his neck, pulling his cloak completely over his head. his eyes darkened, as if he was completely focused.
"kiss me."
these words barely made it through her throat. this could go wrong in so many ways. first of all, they could get caught. second of all, it might ruin the friendship that just started to bloom between them, or qimir might not even comply and-
but her thoughts were completely silenced when suddenly his lips were on hers. she was so surprised that he actually kissed her, that she didn't move and inch. the guards were rummaging through the crowd just inches away from them, and only that made her fist his shirt and pull him closer.
his cloak hid them both well, and they were left unnoticed. qimir was oh so well aware of that, but with how she kissed him he didn't want to pull away either.
her senses were completely dulled for the short moments of closeness. she didn't hear where the enemy went, and frankly, she didn't even care. she never thought about qimir in that way but... there was something about how he held her that she didn't want to let go.
it was him who broke the kiss. his intense gaze and parted lips only made her breath quicken.
"they're gone."
qimir reminded, speaking in a hushed voice.
"yeah- yeah, we should go-"
she replied breathlessly, quickly turning away from him and making her way through the alley. qimir followed her closely, his arm occasionally brushing against hers.
she didn't know where all of this would lead, but as long as he was by her side, she wouldn't complain.
also why i won't hear anything about how "the petition won't work" because:
that's what the incels are saying to lower morale
it obviously works or else these incels wouldn't make 6 counter petitions
the sheer number of signatures alone is why the media take notice of the campaign (to renew a supposedly unpopular show) and start calling out disney & LF for not protecting their POC and queer talents
please sign if you haven't and share if you can
there are more ways to be loud about this cancellation/renewal (that's the title of episode 1 of s2; i'm calling it now lol), and i will try to share it soon.

the relationship between them was nothing more than simply the master, and the apprentice. every morning they would train- qimir's crimson blade colliding with her two ones swiftly.
qimir taught her how to tune in with the force. how to bend it to her will. how to use it against someone.
but there was something more. a bond- both of them felt it. a need for closure. and there it was- small touches and careless brushes during training. their knees touching while sitting next to each other.
but nothing more than that. they couldn't be more- she saw him murder her fellow jedi. and even though she was no longer one, the dark side still felt distant. overwhelming.
scary.
until one evening.
she didn't know how it happened- in one moment qimir was holding her hand, showing the flow of the force, how it filled every being. she felt howbit buzzed within him. and the next thing she knew was his robe on the floor, and her's halfway undone. his lips. his hand dangerously close to where she needed him the most.
and then his broad shoulders as she was lying under him, panting. his gentle touches on her torso. how he made her see the stars. raw emotion. qimir made her experience the dark side.
but the come down was quick and harsh.
"this was a mistake."
she was sitting on his cot, back turned to him, still naked. she fiddled with her top, holding it between her finders.
"okay."
was all qimir said. no questions, no pressure, no commitment.
they didn't speak about it again.
yet the lingering glances and unnecessary touches stayed. gentle words of praise when she did good during training. soft caresses when he treated her injuries, so different from his rough and seemingly cruel exterior. qimir made it hard to believe that he was the same person as the murderous masked stranger.
she needed to remind herself of who he was- but as the time passed, it bothered her less and less- because she had realised that he wasn't controlled by the dark side. it was the dark side that was controlled by him. his actions had reasons. whether what he did was horrible or the exact opposite, she could always understand why.
"i'm sorry."
qimir said, looking up at her. his palm was resting on her thigh, as he healed the cut that he caused. not on purpose of course, he would never, but during sparring it wasn't rare that one of them accidently hurt another.
he didn't have to apologise. yet he did.
the pain dissolved quickly, but qimir's hand stayed in it's place on her leg. for reasons unknown to her, she enjoyed his warmth. and when he finally started to withdraw, before she could think about it, she grabbed his wrist, holding it in place.
this was the opposite on what they agreed on, but qimir didn't seem to mind at all. he contained the smirk, but his eyes gave away smugness.
"hmm. i think it's healed now. you don't have to worry."
he said casually. he could see her chest heaving, and feel the warmth of her cheeks. he caressed the inside of her thing with his thumb.
"qimir."
she didn't mean for her voice to sound so desperate, pleading almost. but there she was- first to break a promise she made. it was impossible not to, when it came to him. qimir was where her self restraint broke.
after a moment, he took his hand away and stood up.
"you should rest."
he turned around, heading towards a pot, to prepare a meal. he always did that- and always shared it with her.
before she realised, she was on her feet, reaching for his hand.
qimir turned around, giving her a curious look. there was a pause.
"i thought we were a mistake."
he stated. something about the way he said it, made her feel uneasy, guilty, almost.
"you promised to teach me about the dark side."
she reminded. it was the truth- he did, but there was a certain point she didn't allow herself to cross. until now.
"i did."
he held her hand.
"do so then."
her voice came out a little shaky. her breaths short and shallow. the first time with him was so unexpected that everything she remembered was blurry. but it wouldn't be the case now.
he reached for her other hand. his gaze seemed uncertain- she could tell there was something on his mind, yet he held back.
"are you sure?"
qimir questioned, pulling her a little closer.
she almost forgot to answer, mesmerised by how his lips moved. she wondered how would they feel on-
qimir called out her name, chuckling lightly.
"yeah-"
she barely had time to finish her sentence, when his lips landed on hers. desperate. they were just like she remembered. she looped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer.
"take it off."
she managed to utter between kisses, tugging at his robe. qimir happily obliged.
she had seen him shirtless on many occasions, as he really did indulge in swimming, apparently. and somehow, he always appeared in her line of sight while being just out of the water.
but this felt different. it was different.
this time around, his touches seemed calculated and percise. his demeanor more like the one that he displayed during training. demanding and controlling.
"sit."
he gestured towards his cot. again, like during training he was giving her clear instructions. and so she followed.
"take your clothes off."
despite it all, his voice sounded gentle. like he always was with her.
his dark blown eyes roaming over her body made her feel transparent, to the point that there was no difference when she pulled off her shirt, followed by her trousers.
qimir seemed pleased.
he kneeled down in front of her- just like before while healing her wound. this time he placed both of his hands on her thighs.
he pushed her legs apart, and she inhaled sharply, when he trailed kisses upwards.
in no time she was gasping his name and tugging at his hair. her thighs closed involuntarily, but he held her in place firmly, squeezing her flesh as a warning.
he knew where and how to touch her. one flick of his tongue and she squeezed her eyes shut, was completely consumed by lust and desire, by want, balancing dangerously on the edge- like prior, when she didn't fully give in.
but he didn't seem to be stopping any time soon. her legs trembled slightly and she called out his name weakly, overstimulated.
but instead of a response, appeared an invisible pressure on her neck, immediately making her mouth close. he didn't even lift up his head, nor his hand, he just-
she couldn't help but moan when he gave her throat a squeeze. testing the waters, checking how far she can push her. he always did so. for a moment qimir held her there firmly, then finally, finally retreated, gazing over her disheveled form, a smirk tugging at his lips.
"hmm."
he didn't even touch her- a swing of his wrist and she was lying flat on her back. he climbed on the bed, settling in between her legs.
she never experienced the force in that way- it felt like fire, running through her veins and burning everything on its way. she had never allowed herself to experience that- pain and pleasure simultaneously.
"can you feel it?"
qimir's voice was low. he traced his hand up her body, resting it in between her breasts. he pressed, energy flowing between their bodies.
she gasped. it burned, burned to the point she was sure his palm will leave a red mark on her skin. and yet when he withdrew it, she yearned for more. he smirked.
"you can. good. stay just like that."
he leaned down, capturing her lips in a kiss, that she reciprocated in an instant. her entire body was on fire.
her legs locked around his waist, wanting more. he obliged.
she surrendered herself to him. lost in his touch, she welcomed his hand wrapping around her neck, physically this time. his kissed and bites.
she welcomed his rough movements, whispers in her ear. she welcomed the darkness. desire, anger, lust, bottomless want.
her nails scraped his back when she came. his grip on her hips surely left marks, too.
panting and in haze, she accepted what she was made for. now, she understood. the power, the freedom. pain and pleasure.
him.
now she knew what he meant when he spoke about the power of two.

she rummaged through the crowded market, her heart threatening to jump out of her chest. she knew her master would eventually find her anyways- it was just a matter of time. the pouring rain didn't help, blurring her vision and wetting her robes.
for someone who was force sensitive, it was easy to sense powerful emotions. fear, anger, loss... the extent of them radiating from the small cloaked figure caught qimir's attention. even more so when he saw the lightsaber on her belt.
her chest heavied, as she tried to keep calm. she needed to get as far away as possible from here, now. keeping her head down, she didn't notice a person standing in her way, and she bumped into them.
"oh- sorry! sorry i, uh-"
she fretted, immediately regaining her composure. she took in the man in front on her. black medium-length hair, dark eyes, messy robes...probably a merchant.
"it's alright." he muttered, then tilted his head. "are you...okay?"
she knew it was easy to spot her distress with the way she carried herself, but the question caught her off guard.
"i'm fine. i just- i'm in a hurry."
she replied urgently, wanting to go. her eyes scanned the environment around her.
"you don't look fine." the stranger stated, then his eyes dropped to her belt. he immediately straightened up. "you're a jedi! is someone chasing you? are you on a mission? it must be important! whatever it is i'm sure you could deal with it, but if you seriously need to hide i can-"
he started jabbering, too loud for her liking. but the word 'hide' caught her interest. maybe he could be useful...
"yes, i'm on a mission." she forced the most formal tone she could, trying to hide the desperation. "an important one. and i don't need to hide. i need to get as far away from here as i can. now."
the man seemed excited. "follow me!"
he was quick and swift with moving around the crowd, unlike how he was presenting himself.
"my ship is just minutes away! i can't believe I'm helping a jedi..." he beamed.
she sighed. well, it was certainly a better option that being found by the jedi master that was sent after her, and when he brings her back to master vernestra-
she didn't have time to dwell on that though, as suddenly an invisible force sent her flying. alerted, she immediately grabbed her lightsaber, going in a defensive position. her hands were shaky, and her breath uneven. there was no escape now.
then she saw him- the jedi that was sent to bring her back to vernestra. he called her name, and that alone made her shiver with fear. his next movements were quick. attack, a blow, a kick to the stomach, force push, another blow- and she ended up without her weapon, his lightsaber pointing at her.
"surrender." he demanded, his voice emotionless. "you're going back to the temple. master vernestra wishes to speak with you." no sympathy heard as he spoke. the jedi didn't have sympathy for those who ever dared to question their ways.
and she knew that vernestra wouldn't have it either, even towards her own padawan. she didn't want to think of what is going to happen if the jedi drags her back to her master. she preferred to die here. with some honor left.
"never."
she spat angrily, trying to hide just how terrified she was. the jedi lifted his blade. she shut her eyes, waiting for the final hit.
but it didn't come.
she dared to open her eyes.
and what she saw, froze her in place.
the jedi hung in the air, desperately trying to catch his breath, choking and kicking his legs. then, a crimson blade pierced his chest. she looked, entranced, as his lifeless body fell to her feet.
behind it, stood the man she met on the market, his expression hard. as if he was a completely different person.
he turned off his lightsaber, and his gaze dropped to her, shaken on the muddy ground.
"you're safe now." his voice became softer, when he crouched down in front of her. "i'm not going to let her hurt you."
she looked at him with wide eyes. why would he do that? how did he know about her master?
"who- who are you?"
he tilted his head again.
"i'm qimir."
the simplicity of his answer in such situation baffled her.
"qimir."
she repeated, dumbfounded.
"and you are a jedi, aren't you...?" qimir's voice was almost mocking. "vernestra's padawan. i suppose she saw the 'darkness within you'?" he scoffed.
she furrowed her brows. how could he possibly know that?
"what-? how did you...?"
qimir looked away for a second.
"i suppose that she doesn't talk about her previous pupils... after all, what is there to say if they're dead?"
she hesitated. was she lied to? that he was her first padawan? master vernestra never mentioned she taught anyone before her...
a hand in front of her chest snapped her back to reality.
"come on, you're going to get soaked. my ship is just right there."
he pointed in the direction of the clearing, and she indeed saw the silver flickering between the trees.
"i don't trust you."
she eyed him up and down. he had a red lightsaber, which could only mean that he was something she never thought she will see. a sith.
"nor should you." he smirked. "but right now, i am your only option."
she chewed on her lip. he was right. if he didn't lie, and he really was vernestra's fallen apprentice... she felt that she needed to know more. she accepted his hand, and he pulled her up to her feet.
she followed qimir to his ship. he was completely unreadable, and she felt so exposed. but at the same time he intrigued her. his power, ability to hide his force signature...
that's what she was looking for. knowledge. knowledge that the jedi said leads to the dark side.
but she was ready to take that step, after everything that happened. and it looked like she had a guide. an anchor.
I'll update the tags as the story progresses, there should only be two more parts.
I'm not sure how far I'll go with certain behaviors, so leave a comment and let me know what you think <3
(This first part is to provide context, the other two will set the story in motion)
Becoming a Padawan was a lifelong dream. Of course, I was young, so my view of the world and what I would experience in the coming years was very limited. The idea of being taken under the wing of a more experienced Jedi master, learning many more techniques, the missions, the travels, all the people and aliens I could meet... I was bursting with happiness.
Not that the exercises at the temple weren't stimulating, I was glad to have made friends, to have developed a routine with them, but I was ready for something new.
So, when I was finally introduced to my future master, I was bursting with joy. I recognized her immediately, it was hard not to. Vernestra was an important member of the Order, involved with the Senate, and was known for her numerous successes. It was an honor for me to receive that position by her side.
Over the years, I had been recognized as an excellent future Padawan, with the ability to learn quickly, a strong sense of observation, and a positive and kind character that always accompanied me. I was often praised for the way I presented myself to others. In short, everyone saw a bright future for me, but I had difficulty seeing it myself. I was young and inexperienced and I believed that the important thing was to follow the rules, the rest was just a part of me, something I did naturally.
I imagine that becoming Vernestraās Padawan was just the confirmation of that golden path everyone saw me on, but I was too caught up in the newness to really think about it.
However, I soon realized that I lost the balance I had created up to that point, I lost some friends, some simply due to distance, others were... cold towards me.
I didn't understand what had changed. I would never have accused anyone of feeling emotions like jealousy or anger towards me, we were children. Missteps were normal, and we were taught that it was right to face them and learn from them.
But if you asked around, many would have described me as someone who never made mistakes, who always responded with a gentle smile, a comforting word, a hand on the shoulder, or even just a pleasant company if you needed to vent. Perhaps that was the problem. I appeared too perfect in the eyes of others.
And yet, the Master didnāt make me feel that way. She taught me everything calmly, I followed her every step, she reprimanded me harshly, but always with care. She soon realized how much I sought validation in everything I did.
It was stronger than me, I believed I was always making a mistake, that I was in the wrong. After all, who was I to say something was right or wrong? I was just a Padawan. A child.
And anyway, it wasnāt the Jediās job to give answers, but rather to push people to understand for themselves.
Even though it was a concept I found difficult to grasp myself.
Anyway, thatās how I met Qimir.
He was Vernestraās former Padawan, now promoted to Jedi Knight and independent in his duties, but he often visited us, either to seek advice from his old Master or just to ask how she was doing. I found him very sweet.
The first time I met him in person, I already knew his name. He had managed to stand out as soon as he started his duties as a Knight. Among the younger ones, there was a sense of reverence towards him even though we had never seen him in person. And besides, it was rumored that he was terribly handsome, not that it particularly interested me at the time.
I remember I was in the library with Vernestra, she had assigned me some basic readings to start my future physical training. Young ones are already taught at an early age to defend themselves and to learn various positions, but it was more about building an understanding of your Force signature, learning to trust your senses. The real training would then be individual for the student once they had a Master, so she had recommended these introductory readings on the various forms of combat and their use.
Those were afternoons I remembered with particular affection. Sitting in silence, she would take a more suitable book or bring her work documents on her datapad, and the hours would pass in an instant. Sometimes, I would glance at her to see what she was doing. She noticed every time, smiled slightly, and gently scolded me, telling me to return to my tasks.
I was happy. I felt cared for, appreciated, but not in the cold manner of a teacher with their student. It was a feeling I didnāt quite know how to place in my heart, and it worried me a bit, but I kept my doubts for another day.
On one of those quiet afternoons, I met Qimir. The room was particularly deserted that day, so the sound of footsteps approaching could be heard clearly along the shelves. Thinking it was the librarian, I didnāt pay much attention and remained with my nose buried in the book. Even when he stopped in front of our table I didnāt pay attention. Then, a deep male voice I didnāt recognize spoke Vernestraās name.
Curiosity flared up in an instant, and as the two began a light conversation next to me, I slowly raised my gaze, the book almost serving as a shield, my hair partly covering my eyes. In front of us stood a young man in his twenties, dressed in the classic brown Jedi Knight attire, speaking casually to Vernestra. His slightly long, smooth hair, a light smile, and dark eyes framed by a chiseled jaw.
It was the first time I saw him. And the first time my heart beat so fast in my chest.
I didnāt know if it was because he was undeniably a handsome guy. I had never been too interested in that sort of thing, and anyway, it was forbidden for Jedi to have too impure thoughts. It was more... his aura. The amused smile but attentive eyes, the neat but relaxed posture... he seemed to shine with his own light. It was what I felt when I saw a member of the council, when I glimpsed Master Yoda in the corridors, reverence, respect, a bit of fear.
He was captivating, and he seemed to be aware of it.
I didnāt even realize that I had been staring at him longer than I should have. He noticed the insistent gaze on him. I must have looked quite ridiculous, a young girl hiding behind a book while staring at the great Jedi Knight, but the smile he gave me right after almost took my breath away as I blushed, perhaps for the first time in my life.
āAnd you must be the new Padawan who took my place. Nice to meet you, Iām Qimirā he said, extending a hand, and after casting a nervous glance at Vernestra, who was smiling at me, I hugged the book to my chest with one arm, my palm tingling, unsure whether to return the handshake.
Another inner turmoil came with that first touch. His hands had long, slender fingers, marked by numerous calluses, probably from gripping the lightsaber or the various missions he faced. It was just another reason why I started to admire him. I could see all the dots connecting in this figure that represented everything I wanted to become. A Jedi. A reference point for those in need.
I said my name in a low, timid voice, and he leaned towards me with a slight frown āSuch a small voice, are you always like this, or am I making you nervous?ā he joked, but I bit my lip, not knowing what to reply, I pulled my hand away, but he didnāt let go. Instead, he began to gently rub my knuckles with his thumb.
āLeave her alone, Qimir. Sheās shy, donāt start with your teasingā Vernestra scolded him, at which he let go. I hid my hand under the table, clenching it into a fist, my skin tingling.
āSorry, sorry. It must be a relief for you to have someone like this after meā she sighed but didnāt deny it either, at which I let out a smile and he, noticing, winked at me.
That was the first time I had dealings with him. But soon I began to see him everywhere. When he wasnāt on a mission, he stayed around the temple, so I encountered him in the corridors, in the halls, in the meditation room, and he always had a kind smile for me.
He made me feel special even though I knew it was a selfish feeling. When I managed to study with other Padawans in the library or practiced in the courtyard, he always stopped by to give me a nod. My friends were jealous, but I wasnāt really offended. Qimir was... kind.
It was like seeing the Force alive and pulsing around him. It was impossible not to look at him, not to wish that he would glance at you even just once.
Everyone wanted to be like him. Charismatic. Confident. Everyone wanted to be his friend.
One of the first missions I did with Master Vernestra was another point of contact. Being young, I wasnāt yet allowed in particularly dangerous scenarios, not to mention that if there was one thing I was lacking in, it was combat. I followed the Master almost everywhere, political life was just as important in a Jediās path, and I had to understand the mechanics early on for when I would be older, even though they were often more moments of leisure.
The meetings lasted hours, often discussing places, people, and things I knew nothing about. I tried to stay focused, but it was really difficult, and even Vernestra thought I shouldnāt strain myself too much, so she let me roam around, maybe continue studying, or even just take a little break.
One day, ready to depart, we were loading the luggage onto the ship. We were going to spend a few days on Hoth, and I was incredibly excited since I had never experienced a planet with that kind of climate before. As I was lost in my thoughts, a light knock interrupted me. At the foot of the ramp, Qimir gave me a half-smile "Is there room for me too?" I was still intimidated by his presence since we had never really spoken before. I opened my mouth several times, glancing around awkwardly, not sure if he was teasing me or if I was too stupid to understand what he meant.
"I hope you didnāt bring your usual baggage" Vernestra said behind me, gently placing a hand on my shoulder. I looked at her, confused "Excuse me Master, is Qimir coming with us?" I struggled even to pronounce his name, it felt like an insult to do so, as if I didnāt have enough experience to earn such a privilege.
"What, you don't want me around?" he smiled as he walked up the ramp. I squirmed uncomfortably, realizing the embarrassing situation I had caused "N-no, I didnāt mean thatā" He smiled even more, but Vernestra intervened again, scolding him "Give her some space Qimir."
The plan was simple: it was a diplomatic mission, and Qimir had joined us to study for a few days with his former master. I didnāt know exactly what he needed, but he wanted her advice. We left a few minutes later, and I avoided the control room like the plague. I only entered once to ask how much longer it would take, burning alive under Qimirās gaze, then I shut myself in the bedroom and did my homework.
Hoth was as beautiful as it was freezing. But it was worth it; I had never seen such an immense expanse of white, the ground soft underfoot from the snow, the ice mountains, creatures I had never seen before. Vernestra stopped to talk to some locals, and I approached the enormous door overlooking the ice field. I wondered if the entire planet was like this. Did anyone live in those isolated areas? How could anyone survive in such a harsh climate?
A gloved hand rested on my back, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I turned, expecting to see my master, but under the hood, it was Qimirās dark eyes that looked at me with a gentle smile on his face.
"Beautiful, isnāt it?" he asked before turning back to look at the white expanse before us. I nodded hesitantly. Nervous about speaking to him, I bit my lip but managed to gather the courage "Do you know... if thereās anyone who lives in these lands?" He looked at me, puzzled, and I quickly corrected myself "I mean... besides the local species. Or aliens accustomed to these temperatures. Do you think others could live in a place like this?" He let out a small amused puff, "Well, we actually know for sure. There are many bandits or pirates hiding in these lands. Mainly to hide something, you know, itās not worth sending search teams into snowstorms for a single man" he explained.
I made a sound of acknowledgment, but he continued "And if weāre talking about others... I think so. Someone who likes solitude or seeks peace. It seems like a good place not to be found" At that point, I turned toward him "Completely alone? It seems..." sad. But I was afraid to say it out loud, sadness wasnāt one of those emotions a Jedi should typically feel, but it felt natural to feel melancholy at the thought of people wanting to lose themselves in nothingness, to never be found again.
"Sad?" he seemed to read my mind "You see, emotions are very complicated to recognize. What might seem sad to you might mean peace to others. As Jedi, we often take many emotions for granted, but we often forget to give them context" I listened, hanging on his every word.
The conversation seemed... strange in some way. It made sense. Of course it did, he was older than me, had more experience in the field, and knew what he was talking about. I should have just nodded and thanked him for sharing those words.
I ignored the burning sensation I felt and thanked him in a faint voice It felt silly to do so, but it was the least I could do.
He smiled at me and gently took my hand "Letās go, we need to warm up a bit. Trust me, in two more minutes, you wonāt be able to feel the tip of your nose" he joked. I stifled a giggle and let him lead me inside toward the rooms. I didnāt know if it was because we were both wearing gloves or because of the conversation we had just had, but I didnāt feel uncomfortable being held by the hand.
A couple of days later, I was alone in one of the bases scattered across the ice. Vernestra was in a meeting and had forbidden me from attending due to the sensitivity of some of the information that would be exchanged. The problem was that these places werenāt particularly full of people or things to do. Yes, there was a bar area, but after the third cup of hot chocolate, I was afraid of pushing my stomach to the limit, so I stayed at the entrance, my feet in a pile of snow as I doodled or made small, questionable-looking statues.
I was so engrossed in the crooked little house I was shaping out of the ice that I didnāt notice the snowball being thrown in my direction.
I let out a startled yelp when it hit the hood on my head. I spun around just in time to see Qimir burst into laughter "Why did you do that?!" I stood up quickly, brushing the snow off my head.
"You looked so bored, I woke you up, didnāt I?" he chuckled.
I glared at him with a pout while he continued to laugh, so I decided to get revenge.
I bent down to grab a pile of snow, quickly making two balls. I threw the first one, but he easily dodged it.
He turned with an arrogant smile, ready to boast when the second one hit him square in the face.
I burst into laughter. He wiped the snow from his nose, his smile gone before bending down to grab more snow.
I shouted his name, realizing immediately what he was about to do, and started running through the snow with him on my heels. We didnāt even have time to make proper snowballs, we just grabbed the snow in our hands, compacted it as best we could, and threw it at each other in a never-ending war. Sometimes I noticed people giving us amused looks as they arrived or departed from the base, but I didnāt care, I was so happy that, for the first time, I didnāt even care what people thought of me.
An hour later, Vernestra called us back, giving us a confused look. She sighed and sent us to dry off. I felt a bit embarrassed at that moment, and I apologized for the childish behavior, but she smiled at me and assured me there was nothing wrong with what we had done.
In the end I took a full shower someone had left dinner on my bed, considering how long I had been under the hot water. I ate and, putting on one of the heavy local pajamas, decided to step out into the hallway to ask the Master what we would be doing the next day. I knew she wasnāt in bed yet, based on her nightly habits.
I walked down the hallway on the second floor, where the various guest rooms were located, when I noticed that her door was already open.
I approached slowly and immediately recognized Qimirās voice.
"Iām just saying, if we block the main routes, theyād be forced to come out into the open" With a sense of curiosity, I pressed myself against the wall to peek into the room. The two were looking at an old map spread out on the table.
"I agree, but it would take too many resources, and we donāt know the exact times or routes. It would take a lot of time" she replied wearily. Qimir, standing next to her, bit his lip before flashing one of his smiles, "Or... we could sneak in"
She sighed again "The point is the same. We donāt have the resourcesā"
"Iāll go in myself. Iāll cut the power right under their noses, andā" She interrupted him with a wave of her hand.
"Do you realize what youāre saying? Sneaking in like a thief, and then what? Even if I let you do it, they could still escape, and..." He circled the desk, positioning himself in front of her, his back to me, so I barely heard what he said "No one said we need them aliveā"
A sudden thud made me jump. I pressed my hands to my mouth, paralyzed, afraid they had heard me "No. Stop this nonsense, Qimir."
I donāt know what they said after that, I was too busy slipping back into my room, the conversation I had just overheard spinning in my head.
Sometimes, as a Jedi, you had to make drastic choices, right?
me while watching this whole scene was just like ⦠we need to study his brain like why is he doing all that? fucking freak
i need to know the reason i need a novelisation like yesterday or like a memoir and it's qimir's diary because of course he's pathetic that way.
"dear diary i tried to comfort my crush after she killed her jedi dad today and she totally went bonkers on me but it's okay because i got to see the lightsaber kyber crystal change IN REAL TIME which was sort of insane? and also she looked fucking HOT. i would not have minded if she killed me, honestly."
Still reeling over the fact that these particular lines Qimir says can be interpreted in two very different ways:
Heās telling Sol thank you for leading him to finding Mae (he was trying to get to her to finish what they started on Olega) and that because Sol lead him to Mae heās sarcastically saying he and Sol make a great team.
Heās saying heās grateful for Solās betrayal of Osha and web of lies he hid because now heās lead him to Osha and heās now found his equal who will make a great partner (team) with him.
Honestly the scriptwriters did their very big one with this enter series and I love it here š„°
