Hey I never come to tumblr anymore. But I implore anyone still following me to please boycott the LEGO movie 2. Chris Pratt is a member of a cult that is homophobic and has molested children. If you support this movie you help fund this cult.

Here is the secret to fandom:

Give zero fucks about what anyone else is doing.

Seriously.  I mean it.  Because inevitably you will love something that no one else loves.  Or you will love something that everyone loves and people will shit all over it because it’s “so trite and unimaginative and done.” Or you will love something that no one else has ever heard of.  Or you will love something dark and edgy and or obscure and people will roll their eyes and say, “What, do you want people to think you’re dark and edgy and obscure?”

Alternatively, you will not love the thing that everyone else loves, and you will wonder what precisely is wrong with you that the sight of that thing is aggravating the shit out of you now when the whole world sings its praises as one.

People will irritate you.  They’ll irritate you with headcanons that make no sense and misinterpretations of canon.  They will make the same jokes 500 times.  They will overwhelm your corner of fandom with something you either are tired of hearing about or don’t care about.  They will post art that isn’t theirs.  You will meet people who think you are the greatest person ever and bombard you with messages  only to wander off when they find someone new or shinier; you will meet people whom you admire and who do not really seem to notice you exist. 

So give zero fucks about it.  Seriously.  Like what you like, blacklist what you need to blacklist, and ignore everything else.  Be friends, play nice, enjoy it.  And in the meantime, just do you.  Like what you like, love what you love, and to hell with all the rest of it.

Do you think Bad Cop was more inclined to justify his actions because he believed it was his job than Good Cop? I don't know if they're enthusiastic or have their own coping mechanisms, since Good Cop seemed fine in the melting scene. It's just, I feel the scene where they argue back and forth about having to Kragle their own parents shows a lot about their own personalities. We don't even know if it's a result of the effect LB even has on them.

This turned into a bit of an essay, so I put it under the cut.

Sequel to Come Hell (or High Water). Emmet is now an alcoholic with a beard and Bad Cop is still Bad Cop.

Emmet does stupid things. 

Emmet reached blindly for the alarm clock and knocked it clean off the side table. Lucy say up, squinting, at the thud.

"What was that?" She rubbed at her face.

Emmet let out a groan in reply. She leaned over him and looked at the clock lying on the floor, flashing the time in upside-down glowing type. She shook his shoulder.

"You'll be late."

"Idunwannago tawerr." he mumbled into his pillow.

"You have to."

She pulled the sheets down, revealing his bare back. The muscles worked as he turned to her, squinting.

"Lucy c'mon." He clawed at the blanket, trying to pull it back over himself. She gripped his arm to stop him.

"Are you sick?"

He rolled out of her grip and scooped his hands around her, pulling her close to him.

"Maybe I just wanna stay in bed. You could join me."

Her face softened for a moment, but then she shook her head.

"No. It's not gonna work. Get up and have a shower. Wake yourself up."

Emmet flopped back onto the pillows.

"I'm sick then, I'm sick. Can't go." He flailed his arms weakly.

She looked at the ceiling and sighed loudly.

"Fine, don't go. I'm going to get some breakfast. Stay in bed all day. Whatever." She walked out of the room with deliberate heavy steps.

Emmet looked for his phone. It had to have been a month now, and nothing. He'd given up calling after the first few days. But he'd still try to text every so often. Bad Cop never replied. Never answered the phone. He knew he was ok, he was high profile enough that if something happened to him it would make news. Which meant he didn't want to see Emmet for some reason.

Emmet replayed the last night they'd been together over and over, trying to work out if he'd done something wrong. Bad cop had kissed him, and he'd run away. Was that it? Had that offended him to the point he never wanted to speak to Emmet again?

He sat up and pulled on his jeans from the day before and shirt that smelt like stale beer. He walked out to the kitchen and opened the fridge. Lucy turned to him, a butter knife in her hand.

“What are you doing?”

“I’m thirsty.”

“Drink water.”

Emmet looked at her a moment, then closed the fridge.

“I think im going to go for a walk. Clear my head.”

“You dont want something to eat?” She motioned to the toast she was buttering.

“Not hungry.”

He pulled his boots on at the door and grabbed his keys.

"Can you at least text or call if you're going to be out all day?" Lucy called from the kitchen.

"Sure."

The sun was still low enough in the sky to cast long shadows. He walked slowly, eyes on the ground. He didn't know where to go. It was too early to drink. he thought about turning back, going to bed. But he felt a little better outside in the sunlight. He walked to a small park near his apartment and sat on a bench. People walked past with dogs or kids in tow. He sat back and closed his eyes, taking in the sun.

A soccer ball rolled under the bench and a kid came running after it. He nearly bumped into Emmet, then stared up at him.

"The Special." He said with awe. Emmet blinked and looked around the park. The boy's mother was close behind him. She took a long look at emmet's clothes and then grabbed her son by the shoulder. Emmet picked up the ball and held it towards the boy, ignoring his mother's expression. the boy stared at it a moment, then grabbed it and grinned widely, his younger pressing through a gap in his teeth.  Emmet couldn't help but smile back. The boy's mother scowled at Emmet and guided her son away. He looked back towards Emmet, and gave a sad wave.

He sighed. So he was someone to be afraid of, now. The kid still liked him, but maybe he was too young to know any better. He rubbed his eyes and stood up. There had to be a bar open somewhere. He may as well fit the stereotype. Or maybe... He could go buy something to tide him over and wait for Bad Cop. Get him at home. Where he couldn't avoid Emmet anymore. Anything was better than whatever this was.

Bad cop stopped at the top of the stairs. Emmet was slumped on the ground, leaning against his front door, a brown bag in his hand. He jolted as Bad Cop’s footsteps became louder.

"B!"

"What are you doing here?" Bad Cop looked around the hallway.

"I missed you." Emmet slurred.

"You have to leave."

Emmet stood up, his feet unsteady.

"Are you mad at me? What did I do? I can fix it I--"

"Are you listening to me?" Bad cop cut him off. "Get out of here, emmet, now. Or I'll drag you out myself."

"Please." Emmet reached for Bad Cop's arm, but he pulled it away sharply. Bad cop's teeth were gritted into a snarl. Emmet scrubbed his eyes.

"Why won't you talk to me?"

Bad cop sidestepped Emmet and unlocked his door.

"Please, B."

Bad Cop opened his door just enough to slip through. Emmet rushed forward, jamming his foot in the gap. Bad cop shoved him away.

"Don't you fucking get it? I don't want you here." Bad Cop took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes. "My neighbours called saying there was some drunk sleeping outside my apartment. I didn't even have to stop to think. You need to take a look at yourself."He pushed his hand against Emmet's chest, sending him another foot backwards.

Emmet stumbled backwards, almost losing his footing.

"I'm sorry, I just wanted--"

"Go home, Emmet."

"Just listen, for one minute." Emmet's eyes shone. Bad cop glared at him.

"Nothing you say will change my mind."

They both stared at each other. Emmet took a step towards Bad Cop, his eyes pleading.

"Don't do this," Emmet's voice wavered."I love y--"

The door slammed shut. On the other side, Bad Cop leaned his head against it, gritting his teeth.

Emmet doubled over like he'd been punched in the gut. His tears left small perfect circles on the concrete. He held back the howl he could feel rising from the pit if his stomach, and instead straightened, scowling at the door.

"You know what? Fine." He hurled his bottle at Bad Cop’s door, where it shattered on impact, then ran for the stairs.
