Hello! Iām Cal! 19 She/Her This is primarily an Elder Scrolls CVF blog! Feel free to message me any time Iām very social and outgoing! If you disagree with my reviews thatās totally okay! Disagreeing is natural and Iām always open to new perspectives!
Howdy howdy, the Workshop has a new KRCE update out! You can read the patch notes below, or on our Nexus page. An updated Xbox version will be released sometime next week.
Besides that, we're incredibly pleased to announce that KRCE has been granted permission from LivTempleton to opt KRCE's Nexus page into the donation point system! 100% of proceeds will be going to charity; half to the Ukrainian Relief Fund, and half to Doctors Without Borders.
Moving forward, all mods that are dependent on KRCE are permitted to open their mod pages up for donation points, so long as the proceeds are donated to one of the two aforementioned charities.
Other than that, we're closing in on finalizing the first batch of new content for KRCE 2.0. You can read about our current progress here, and take a peek at our donation drive!

Good [timezone], Workshop Spectators! After our excellent launch of KRCE back in December (and a well deserved staff break), we've been back at it behind the scenes; on-boarding our six new staff members, handling bug fixes, and cooking up the first batch of new KRCE exclusive content!
We're a few weeks into our donation drive to cover our new content, and progress has been excellent!
We have enough to cover our first session with Paul, so our staff has been busy hammering out the first slate of scripts and playtesting our internal KRCE 2.0 build for the new quests these scripts will be covering. Nearly all of them have been expanded on in clever ways that we're keeping close to our chest until launch.
Before we get into that though, we held a poll back in January asking the community a number of different questions regarding changes to KRCE content the staff were considering.
Many discussions sprouted from the latter question regarding Kaidan's moral compass, some so compelling that our staff is still reeling from the potential it has for future content packs.
As of right now, we haven't decided which quests Kaidan will avoid doing -- our first slate of new content (mercifully) doesn't have any content that our favorite swordsman would find distasteful -- but as always, we will keep you updated as those decisions materialize.
So what exactly is part of the first slate of new content?
The Intro Overhaul Pack -- What started as just a 1 for 1 integration of WarTortle's Immersive Kaidan Start has now expanded to include a few new conversations and immersive details to help smooth out the narrative mystery behind Kaidan's past, particularly for players who are new to TES lore.
Paarthurnax Quest Expansion Compatibility -- Created by the amazing JaySerpa, PQE hooks wonderfully into Kaidan's existing narrative about redemption. We've managed to work into a few subtle nods to Kaidan's dark past for players who haven't completed his personal quest.
I'm Glad You're Here Compatibility -- Exactly what it says on the tin. This pack includes integration with our nickname system as well!
The Book Pack -- In addition to creating new lines for each book Kaidan receives, we have also implemented a system where the player can then ask him what he thought about said book. Some of these books also have conditional dialogue, depending if the player has or hasn't completed certain quests. There's also a new mini-quest built into this book system that will unlock...
[REDACTED] Pack -- a brand new way to engage with Kaidan. Trust us, you're going to love it.
As we begin to focus on the next leg of our project - new content - it's time for a new budget proposal! Our previous proposal, made to cover the expenses for revoicing the Kaidan 2 base mod, was a slam dunk as far budgeting goes; we were able to successfully achieve our original goals all while staying under budget. You can look over the budget report covering those expenditures here.
For this new proposal, we are focused on creating the new content outlined in our Future Plans section here, plus a few extra surprises to bolster them even further. For the sake of transparency regarding script pricing, you can find the Indie Rate Guide for voice actor pricing that we are referencing for our budget here (specifically, the 'suggested' per hour payment of $250).
After reviewing the scripts in production and estimating how many lines we feel we need to realize each of them, we have set our budget goal at $2600; this covers the costs for approximately 800-1000 lines, plus the associated fees assessed by Paypal. The remaining money from our previous budget proposal has been rolled into the new funds accordingly.
Please note that our project is strictly non-profit; all funds raised are to commission Mr. Warren and other artists for their services. You can donate to the Workshop via our Ko-Fi & Paypal. We will update the below image every few days to reflect the current progress of our donations.
Once again, we're here to celebrate the Workshop's Two Year Anniversary!
We'll be hosting events today and tomorrow on our Discord server going over all the fun stuff we have planned for KRCE in 2025, so come join us if you have the time!
While we'll primarily be going over our full End of Year Budget Report (you can find that .pdf here), we also have a brand new Budget Proposal for the next stage of our project to go over. You can read about that here.
Additionally, we'll be going over the result of the last Community poll and what that means for our scripts in development, and well as featuring some live readings of those scripts to hear your thoughts! A synopsis of these discussions will be published after the two events, so keep an eye out!
Finally, you can find all our major updates from the past year below. With the help of our shiny new Staff members, we're excited to hit the ground running to get our planned content released throughout 2025.
March 2024: March Update
June 2024: Spring Update
October 2024: Open Beta Announcement
December 2024: Kaidan Revoiced - Community Expansion 1.0 Launch!
January 2025: January Update & KRCE 1.1 Update
As always, the Staff thanks you for your overwhelming praise and support of KRCE!
It's your friendly neighborhood Community Team swinging in with some announcements and our KRCE 1.1 update!
First off, weāll be hosting a public Workshop event celebrating our two year anniversary on Thursday, February 27th, at 2PM CST/3PM EST/8PM GMT via our Discord Stage. You can subscribe to the event here.
Weāll be reviewing our End of Year budget report, as well as presenting our new budget proposal for the next leg of our planned content. Weāll also talk about the results of the last Community poll, reveal some new additions to our first planned update, and read a few of our newest scripts in development to hear your feedback.
With that out of the way, here are the notes for the KRCE 1.1 update!
KRCE 1.1 Changelog ā SAFE TO UPDATE MIDSAVE
Added matching modular armor boots to Kaidan's default post-rescue clothes
Swapped the one meat and two fish barrels in Autumnwatch that respawned with no respawn versions; all other containers appear to be set as no respawn
Set Autumnwatch cell as NoResetZone
Added a new global variable, KW_FollowDistance that is default set at 0 for medium. It is toggled to 1 for closer and 2 for further away via dialogue commands in the "Do you have a moment?" Options menu
Added two extra follow packages with different near and far options to Kaidan's KW_K02 alias in support of the follow distance toggle
After selecting pronouns, the menu now goes up a level to Options instead of staying in pronouns, consistent with the other Options submenus
Added condition to initial dismiss line (about returning to Falkreath) to check if Autumnwatch has been purchased
Added map marker to the Abandoned Prison (Kaidan) for the first objective of A Bounty for the Hunter
Moved nickname line "You've got a big roar, Little Dragon..." to a main quest idle when the player uses Clear Skies on the way up the Throat of the World
Added new option to the nickname menu that lets players ask Kaidan to stop calling them by a specific nickname, rather than requiring a total reset and reselection of the nicknames you do want: "Please stop calling me..." > (list of nicknames that are currently selected)
Fixed spelling "Nevermind." > "Never mind."
Added the line "It may take some time to fully translate it." to the journal entry for stage 25 of All of This Past (the early dossier route, if the player found the dossier before fully translating the sword)
Added missing script fragment to advance the quest All of This Past to stage 30, for those who found the dossier early/before translating his sword
Workshop Update: Kaidan Revoiced - Community Expansion 1.0 Launch!
After two years of development, the Kaidan Workshop Staff is proud to present Kaidan Revoiced - Community Expansion (KRCE)!
First and foremost, none of this would be possible without livtempleton graciously giving us permission for our project! Throughout the years, the assets she's allowed the Skyrim modding community to build upon has kept Kaidan alive in thousands of modlists, providing the opportunity for even more players to enjoy her original creations; we're very honored to be added to the list of modders whose creations are inspired by her work.
When we started the Workshop, we had no idea if anyone would even notice our project; a new voice actor, a new iteration of an already established character, and no product to show for it in advance. The only thing we could offer the general public at the time was the promise of transparency and community cooperation throughout the process.
So we created a budget for revoicing Kaidan, a plan for community involvement, and hit the ground running. We added new staff, taught ourselves new skills as the scope of the project evolved, and leaned on the advice, ideas, and encouragement from our community.
Alongside the (mostly) monthly updates on our Tumblr and taking suggestions from our 'I Had An Idea!' Discord channel, our methods for ensuring transparency during development evolved; our Community Team began hosting public meetings via our Discord to discuss our current workflow, answer questions, and conduct live script readings of our original scripts, to ensure that our Writing Team was matching the original tone set by livtempleton. We also streamed our beta footage on Twitch, trying our best to stress test the new framework built by our Creation Kit Team while also taking more suggestions from our audience for future content.
Finally, we were incredibly pleased to be able to host an Open Beta for KRCE this past October & November for our Discord community, as a special thank you for their support. We were able to get some excellent feedback on some of our new follower features, as well as hunt down any missed audio or errors our internal testing missed.
All in all, it took many, many people to bring this mod to life, and our Staff is incredibly humbled and grateful for the support of everyone involved.
While this 1.0 version will be available indefinitely for those who prefer it, the Workshop Staff is very excited to begin creating more original content moving forward into 2025! One of our original scripts for the Daedric quest "Pieces of the Past" is in the 1.0, so you can check it out to get a sense of the tone our writers are going for!
You can read about what content is present in our mod, as well as find the answers to commonly asked questions in the KRCE Mod FAQ. Keep up with the project via our updates on Tumblr, or join our Discord server!
The Kaidan Workshop is a community-led, non-profit project that aims to build upon the original LivTempleton Kaidan 2 mod. Our project is strictly non-profit; all funds raised are to commission Mr. Warren for his services. You can read more about what the Kaidan Workshop is here.
It's finally here Spectators! Our Open Beta is officially live!
You can find out all the details (as well as the download links) on our Discord server.
We can't thank all of you enough for believing in our vision for Kaidan and helping us see it through. With your help, we can chase down any last minute bugs before we release on Nexus!
The thing about Cottagecore is that is a fetishized aesthetic of country life, divorced from labor and idealized by a primarily urban audience with a backward looking ethos of tradition. They are not prepared for the stresses of a rural life: farming; harvesting; tapping pumpkins to ensure none of them have been replaced with flesh; losing out on income by having to use one of your pigs in a blood sacrifice to paint protective sigils over your doors and windows; checking cracks and chimneys for the flesh-vines of the Pumpkin Lord; having to decide, before the Growth is complete, whether that's really your tradwife or an amassment of vines, leaves, and blood in the shape of your tradwife; ignoring their desperate pleas that "I'm me! No! No!" as you burn them alive, realizing too late you picked wrong; and the exploitative corporate nature of commercial farming in 2024. All seen through a deeply colonial lens, of course
I've finally started dev work on a custom voiced (read: voice-acted! AI can die a painful death) follower mod, the mod I've been wishing I had the time & freedom to make for years now.
I have gotten more work done on this new follower in a week than I have on any other project in the past year or so, and that's because I'm āØļøOBSESSED WITH HERāØļø
I've felt buried under past projects & plans & obligations for a long time, so much so that I've considered quitting creating in these spaces altogether. I then asked myself "What character would I make if I started modding today?"
Happy Spooky Month Spectators! We've got important information to cover, so let's jump right into it.
During our [REDACTED] event on Friday, we announced our upcoming Open Beta! Open to members of our Discord server, we will be shadow dropping a link to the beta version of KR:CE sometime in the next two weeks. We are seeking the help of the community to help track down any mod incompatibilities or bugs, so we can get them ironed out before our release on Nexus.
To prepare yourself and your mod lists, you can refer to our updated KR:CE Mod FAQ, as well as our new Beta Tester Guide.
Next, we are recruiting new staff members for our CK & Assets Team and our Community Team!
As our community continues to grow, having more staff will help us better meet the needs of the Spectators, as well as help speed up production times for KR:CE post-launch. You can apply here.
Finally, we have commissioned two Spectator artists to help create material for the KR:CE Nexus mod page, but we are also seeking a graphic artist with experience in web page design. We will be posting an official commission request for our Art Volunteer community later this week.
We thank you so much for your continued patience and cooperation. With your help, we can make the public launch of Kaidan Revoiced: Community Expansion a smooth success!
(The announcement below is copied from my discord)
Ā Ā Ā Hey everyone! This announcement has been a long time coming, Iāve just been pretty busy these past months. This announcement will have some good news, but also, some bad news.Ā
Ā Ā Ā First off, the good news:Ā
Ā Ā Ā End of last year I graduated from college and a few months after I got a new job! I had to move to a whole new state and itās been perhaps one of, if not the, best experience of my life. This job has been amazing. My new place has been amazing. And just my life in general has been amazing! I canāt remember the last time Iāve been so content in my life! Sometimes Iāll just start looking around and be struck with disbelief that things turned out so well for me. Basically, I got a really nice job in writing and I couldnāt be happier!Ā
Ā Ā Ā With this new job, it has also given me time to discover old and new hobbies such as writing my own new material, reading, and Iām getting back into playing/running Dnd! (And once I get my hands on my sewing machine next month you better bet Iām gonna start sewing again!! And get back into cosplaying!!!)Ā
Ā Ā Ā But with this all new amazingness comes with a down side. My new job offers little time in the terms of modding. By the time Iām done with work Iām usually exhausted. (this may also be health related which Iām trying to figure out, but weāll see.) And on the weekends I find myself looking for new hobbies.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Let me rip the bandaid off real quick:
Ā Ā Ā For now, I will no longer be working on my mods. That doesnāt mean I hope nothing new comes out of them. Iām still hoping to make an announcement later that may open up *some* of my mods for fan made expansions (if users wish to do so,) but Iām still trying to get all that sorted out. There was a lot of update work being done, and Iām still figuring out what to do with it.Ā
Ā Ā Ā I also still love seeing mod patches like replacers, translations, and such (like always, just shoot me a message first so I know theyāre coming out.)Ā
Ā Ā Ā This also doesnāt mean itās forever over. One day, I may return, but for now, Iām stepping aside.
With that sad news said, I want to let all of you know what a ride all this has been! I first started modding because I wanted to find a creative writing outlet, then it turned into realizing I could make a portfolio for a future career with it, and then, finally, I realized how many people enjoyed my work. There were a lot of times where I self doubted whether or not I was a good writer, but seeing the overwhelming support over the years for my art has helped me get over that. My final years of college werenāt great, and modding and you all helped me through the vast majority of it. Because of all that, I want to thank each and every one of you for your support!
Ā Ā Ā Now, just because Iām stepping away from modding doesnāt mean I want to stop creating. Like I said, I still love writing in my free time, so maybe in the future I can post various personal writings I make here.Ā
Ā Ā Ā And with that, once I get everything figured out about the future of my mods, this server may be taking a shift in a new direction from being solely about Sidekicks of Tamriel, but just as a general Rabbitt Winri server and whatever personal projects I pursue in the future. (I will also be changing my various social media accounts accordingly too.)
Ā Ā Ā Once again, I cannot thank all of you enough for what youāve done for me! None of this would have been possible without you!
The Fair folk are unable to exist on the island Manhattan due to the steel used in skyscrapers, the steel in the bridges that cross the rivers to enter the island and the subways underground whose rails create invisible barriers against the Fae. Additionally Soho was built as a safe haven from Fae in the 1870s with the cast iron facades that keep them from entering the buildings. This is all intentional as the NYPD has been waging a secret war on the Fae for nearly 70 years
ever since i was little i've dreamed of being the sleazy lawyer who takes the suspect away from questioning and prevents the cops from catching the orphan strangler
