Salutations Workshop Spectators! We are incredibly pleased to finally announce the beginning of our Open Beta for Kaidan Revoiced: Community Expansion 2.0! Our original 1.X version of KRCE will remain up for those who prefer it, while Workshop original content will be implemented in KRCE 2.0.
Open to members of our Discord server, we will be shadow dropping a link to the beta version of KR:CE 2.0 sometime in the next two weeks. We are seeking the help of the community to track down any mod incompatibilities or bugs, so we can get them ironed out before our release on Nexus!
You can look over the official KR:CE 2.0 Open Beta Changelog to view the full list of content additions and changes.
For best results during beta testing, please don't use collections or modpacks that already include an old version of our mod (eg. Gate to Sovngarde) due to the existence of custom patches that will conflict with our latest update. The curators of those collections will need to fix their patches after our official release.
We are incredibly proud of the work we've put into this release, and we hope that our vision for what new Kaidan content looks like is something that you all enjoy as well. Thank you again so much for your patience and support! Keep an eye out for the link drop!
The Brink of Open Beta: Workshop End of Year Update
Salud Spectators!
As we wrap up voting for audio implementation, we are very pleased to present our annual End of Year Budget Report for 2025-2026! We're metaphorically crossing our t's and dotting our i's for our upcoming Open Beta release, as well as beginning preliminary work on our final five scripts from the original Community Poll way back in 2024.
Here's the list of updates for this past year, as well as our EOY report here; there's an additional page discussing changes to our design scope that we highly recommend checking out!
February 2025: Workshop Budget: A Breakdown, 2025 Edition
March 2025: Workshop Progress: March Update
April 2025: KRCE V1.2.0 Update
July 2025: Workshop Progress: Summer Update
September 2025: Workshop Progress: Fall Update
December 2025: Workshop Progress: December Mini-Update
We can also finally reveal what the [REDACTED] Pack is… drumroll please...
It's the original Lucien-Kaidan interactions! We were finally able to get permissions from the creator of Lucien, Joseph Russell, to rerecord the original interactions from Kaidan 2 for implementation in KRCE.
We know that you've been waiting with baited breath for this update, and we promise it will be worth it. As always, we thank you for your continued patience, kindness, ideas and support!
As we begin to focus on the next leg of our project - new content - it's time for a new budget proposal! Our previous proposal, made to cover the expenses for revoicing the Kaidan 2 base mod, was a slam dunk as far budgeting goes; we were able to successfully achieve our original goals all while staying under budget. You can look over the budget report covering those expenditures here.
For this new proposal, we are focused on creating the new content outlined in our Future Plans section here, plus a few extra surprises to bolster them even further. For the sake of transparency regarding script pricing, you can find the Indie Rate Guide for voice actor pricing that we are referencing for our budget here (specifically, the 'suggested' per hour payment of $250).
After reviewing the scripts in production and estimating how many lines we feel we need to realize each of them, we have set our budget goal at $2600; this covers the costs for approximately 800-1000 lines, plus the associated fees assessed by Paypal. The remaining money from our previous budget proposal has been rolled into the new funds accordingly.
Please note that our project is strictly non-profit; all funds raised are to commission Mr. Warren and other artists for their services. You can donate to the Workshop via our Ko-Fi & Paypal. We will update the below image every few days to reflect the current progress of our donations.
Salud Spectators!
We've overshot our fundraiser goal by $287! As a staff, we are humbled by your support -- without it, KRCE just simply wouldn't be possible!
Our second and final VA session with Paul for this update will be this Tuesday; after we have all the lines in and process them a bit more, we'll schedule a public Workshop meeting so we can talk shop, dig into what y'all can expect in the next update, and set expectations for Open Beta.
We are very pleased to announce that we've scheduled the final recording sessions for the KRCE 2.0 update with our VA, Paul Warren! The final line total for this first update is massive -- just over 700 lines! -- and touches on a wide variety of quests and features.
We even have a new [REDACTED] surprise for you all, something the community has been begging us for since we announced the project…
We'll be hosting a public Workshop event in the weeks after our final VA session to present the new material and set expectations for our second Open Beta event!
Other than that, as always, we thank you for your continued support!
Greetings Workshop Spectators! We're closer than ever to the first content release for KRCE 2.0; the version of KRCE that will contain content other than the original Kaidan 2 base script. As we've stated before, KRCE 1.0 will remain available for those who prefer the original content over whatever the Workshop chooses to implement in the future.
After our last announcement, we took a look at the different scripts in production and discussed which seemed the most suitable to be included in this initial update. We wanted to prioritize content that players would need to start a new save file to see, as well as begin laying the groundwork for some of our future development goals.
The staff finally settled on a mix of scripts that will bolster Kaidan's reactivity during some of the major quest lines, as well as his commentary regarding the player character and their actions. We plan on revisiting many of these scripts as we continue to build upon them after implementation.
So! With no further ado, we've settled on these scripts for inclusion in this first mass release for KRCE 2.0:
The Intro Overhaul Pack -- What started as just a 1 for 1 integration of WarTortle's Immersive Kaidan Start has now expanded to include new conversations and immersive details to help smooth out the narrative mystery behind Kaidan's past, particularly for players who are new to TES lore.
Paarthurnax Quest Expansion Compatibility -- Created by the amazing JaySerpa, PQE hooks wonderfully into Kaidan's existing narrative about redemption. We've managed to work into a few subtle nods to Kaidan's dark past for players who haven't completed his personal quest.
The Book Pack -- In addition to creating new lines for each book Kaidan receives, we have also implemented a system where the player can then ask him what he thought about said book. Some of these books also have conditional dialogue, depending if the player has or hasn't completed certain quests. There's also a new mini-quest built into this book system that will unlock...
The Training Pack -- Now, after giving Kaidan a number of books to enjoy, he will offer to train the player in a number of different martial skills.
New Major Quest Line Commentary -- While Kaidan has existing dialogue for the Skyrim Main Quest, College of Winterhold Quest, and Companions Quest, we felt that there were sections that deserved more attention. Kaidan will now have more robust commentary for these three quest lines, as well as the associated radiant and side quests associated with each (e.g. ritual spell quests).
Unlockable Titles -- As per a suggestion from our 'i-had-an-idea' channel, we're adding unlockable titles to our Nickname system. Once a player completes either the Companions or College of Winterhold quest line, they will gain the ability to ask Kaidan to refer to them as Harbinger or Archmage, respectively. You can also ask him to refer to you as Thane, for those who love the feeling being a noble. As we add dialogue for the other factions, we will update the title list accordingly.
I’m Glad You’re Here Compatibility – A dedicated set of dialogue to go alongside the popular “I’m Glad You’re Here” mod by WhiteWolf424242, complete with Nickname and Title integration.
The Roleplay Pack – Skyrim is a huge world with many customisation options, and even more player characters; this pack aims to have Kaidan react to player driven roleplay options. Kaidan will be able to comment on where the player is from, what gods they worship, even what their background is – all chosen by you.
Kiai Commentary -- Kiai was a bit of an afterthought in the original mod, so we wanted to show her some love and created new dialogue for obtaining and naming her. Now Kaidan can finally be the horse dad he's always wanted to be!
More Idles -- To top it off, we're including an assortment of different conditional idles and reactions to make Kaidan a bit more emotive to the world around him, without making him too chatty. There will be a little of everything in here, but some of our favorites include new healing lines, player death lines and new reactions to casting spells on Kaidan.
All of these additions amounts to just under 600 lines of new content, which is nearly half of the original line count for Kaidan. Just like before our KRCE 1.0 launch, we plan on hosting an Open Beta for this new content to help us chase down any bugs before release. We're thrilled to show you our hard work and get your feedback in the coming months; as always, we thank you for your continued interest and support!
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS FUNDRAISER IS UK BASED AS THIS IS WHERE I WAS FORMERLY BASED, AND M… Natalia Lee needs your support for Please help me
Simply put, it has become impossible for me to remain here in Bali. Not only financially, but in terms of my physical safety and survivial. Even though most people think of Bali as some idyllic “paradise”, for those who live here, reality is different, and my case is worse than most.
Back in June, a friend of mine from the UK sent me a care package of UK snacks. What was also in the care package was a THC vape pen: fine in the UK, but what my friend did not know is that this is super illegal in Indonesia. Even though I didn’t ask for or buy the pen, because it was sent to my address and my name, my home was raided. I, my father, and my driver were taken in for questioning. Due to administrative delays and a long weekend I spent 6 days in Polda Bali, the central police compound on the island, in the narcotics division. Living with no privacy on a small cot surrounded by police who would spend all day smoking while I was trying to quit nicotine, eating foods I could not stand, and watching TikTok on full volume. They would also regularly harass me, inappropriately probing into my private life, my relationships, demanding to know why I don’t have children, making insinuations about my sex, and displaying an absolute lack of regard for mental health. At one point it got so bad I suffered a psychotic break. I was eventually released but the ordeal has not only given me PTSD, but has brought up past trauma as well. Since then I’ve been constantly struggling just to stay alive.
My mental health is in full-blown crisis, but Indonesia has limited mental health services, and even those that exist often come with long wait times and high fees. My family and Indonesian society in general have a very tenuous grasp of mental health and will actively make my bipolar worse while also forcing me to mask and pretend to be coping which in turn exacerbates my state even more. Every day I am slipping further and further down the rabbit hole and I’m not sure how much longer I can keep going.
On top of this, being Indonesia, my family had to pay some £10,000 to get me out out Polda Bali. Money I am now expected to pay back without any job or stable income. In truth, this debt isn’t about the money, rather it is being used by my father to keep me here in his house where I, and the rest of my family, have to suffer his narcissistic and psychopathic outbursts. Every day it seems to get worse as his mood becomes more erratic and he is more and more prone to sudden aggression, coercive control, and displays of violence. We all live in fear that one day soon he will kill one, if not all of us.
Compounding this, as many will have seen on social media, tensions in Indonesia are at breaking point and Bali is no exception. There are protests regularly and government buildings, including the police compound where I was held, are being targeted. While I have nothing to do with these protests and do not attend, we live very near to the military police HQ (Brimob) on the island and are afraid that martial law will soon be imposed. Worse yet, I am ethnically part Chinese-Indonesian. While this would not be significant information in the West, here in Indonesia the Chinese population are regularly targeted for racial violence. This is partly due to long standing inter-ethnic distrust, but moreso because in times of crisis the government will try to save themselves by driving the peoples’ anger towards ethnic minorities. And we are one of the most visible and most othered minorities in the country. Many of my Chinese friends around the country are living in fear that they could be targeted next.
Ultimately, I just cannot stay in Indonesia. Every day is already a struggle just to stay alive and to be blunt, I won’t survive an other year here. This envornment is not only toxic, it is going to kill me. I have tried to find a way out of this situation but there’s nothing here in Indonesia that I can do. It’s all dead ends. My only hope is to go to Europe, find work, and start to build up a life that I can actually live. The irony of course is that to find a job, you need to be in Europe, but to go to Europe you already need to have a job offer. Catch 22. So, my best chance is the Chancenkarte, a job seeking visa in Germany. Unfortunately in order to even qualify to apply, I need to have just over €13,000 show money to prove that I am a legitimate job seeker. Money which I do not currently have.
I have tried every resource and connection I have at my disposal to get out of this pit but nothing has worked and despite my skills and capacities, and dozens of wonderful people in Europe who would happily vouch for and help support me, my passport and myopic migration laws are holding me back. This is my last ditch effort to save myself. If I can raise enough money to apply for a job seeking visa, I can finally escape this nightmare I’ve being held in, move to a stable country, get the help I need, find work, pay off my family, and be free to live my own life.
Any help, no matter how little, is a step in the right direction for me. I am not expecting money for free; as a Social Anthropologist with an MA in Humanitarian and Environmental Crises from the UK, I have been offering editing, proofreading, and university-level academic coaching services for over four years. I am a hard worker and do not expect handouts. If you find yourself in need of my services, any donation above £100 will come with editing assistance for any 2500 word essay.
I also ran the popular Elder Scrolls recipe and worldbuilding blog, @tastesoftamriel/Talviel's Kitchen between 2017-2024. If you would like a custom stylised fantasy tavern menu (please bear in mind I'm an Elder Scrolls expert but can attempt other franchises) of 4-6 courses, donations above £25 are eligible for one!
Well met Spectators! It's been a few months since our last update, but we've been hard at work behind the scenes hashing out KRCE 2.0; the version of KRCE that will contain content other than the original Kaidan 2 base script. As we move forward with new content and scripts, KRCE 1.0 will always remain available for those who prefer the original content over whatever the Workshop chooses to implement in the future.
We hosted two community events last week to talk shop about what we've been up to, what content we're focused on currently, and listen to the first batch of new scripts we recorded with our VA Paul Warren back in June. As per our March Update, these are the scripts that we have begun implementing lines for:
The Intro Overhaul Pack -- What started as just a 1 for 1 integration of WarTortle's Immersive Kaidan Start has now expanded to include a few new conversations and immersive details to help smooth out the narrative mystery behind Kaidan's past, particularly for players who are new to TES lore.
The [REDACTED] Pack -- a brand new way to engage with Kaidan. Trust us, you're going to love it.
We also (very giddily) revealed the name and nature of the [REDACTED] Pack as well -- it's called the Training Pack! Rather than 'hides and trinkets,' Kaidan can now train the player in five martial skills (or increase their Stamina limit) as thanks for gifting him books.
This feature is unlocked via the Book Pack mini-quest, which entails giving Kaidan all four books in the Eslaf Erol series -- Beggar, Thief, Warrior, & King.
Initially, you'll hear two different lines fire off after selecting which skill you'd like to train in; one before a fade to black, then a second one after.
There are three 'tiers' of skill mastery that will determine the dialogue you will hear after the second line; Novice is for levels below 35, Intermediate is for levels 35 through 75, and Master is for level 75 and above. The tone Kaidan has for these three tiers shifts from that of mentorship over a novice/intermediately skilled mentee to that of an equally skilled contemporary.
Additionally, all of the skills have multiple lines to keep the repetitiveness down -- we won't spoil them all for you, but you can get a taste of some of the lines in the included samples. There's a few great easter eggs in there if you pay attention!
Our Creation Kit & Assets Team have been having a field day adding in sound effects to these lines to really sell the training experience, while the Writing Team has turned their attention towards the second batch of scripts slated for inclusion in our first major update.
We're still hammering out the line count for what will be included, but we're looking to have anywhere from 500 - 600 new lines; as soon as we have a firmer grasp on the length of the prioritized scripts, we'll let you all know.
As always, we thank you for your interest, your ideas, and your continued support!
Howdy Workshop Spectators!
The Staff have been hard at work throughout June and July; we're very pleased to announce that we have completed processing and voting on the first batch of lines (approx. 250) we commissioned for our first major KRCE update! We're aiming for around 500 - 600 lines to be included in the first batch of new content.
With that being said, we'll be hosting two events this week via our Discord stage -- one on Friday, July 11th at 6:00pm CST and one on Sunday, July 13th at 9:00am CST!
If you're joining our server for the first time, please ensure that you are reading through the #rules channel and agreeing to them, or you will be automatically removed from the server in 10 minutes.
We'll be going over what content will be in our first major update, listening to some of the new lines, and revealing the first of the two [REDACTED] packs that we've been working on.
For those who can't make it, there will be an update posted here on Tumblr after the event, to go over what was covered.
Low-key hilarious how 95% of Dragonborn end up with a Hoard. Absolutely peak intersection of narrative and game design. You consume ONE dragon soul and next thing you know you’ve got 175 wheels of cheese. You learn like 3 whole words in Draconic and you’ve got poor Lydia pack-muling candelabras across the fjords. I personally mostly Hoarded precious metals and gems, but I’ve seen people who Hoarded books and pelts and, like…there is No mechanical reward for this. Players just love to Hoard shit in that game. Absolute Dragon behavior.
