Mind if a white boy get a little dramatic about the Berdly and Noelle dynamic for a second.
I think there’s a little nugget (aha) of angst in the idea that Noelle is Berdly’s only friend and even then he doesn’t really get to just Have his Friend because he feels the need to perform the concept of a romantic relationship / budding crush with her because he’s sure that if she wasn’t romantically into him that she wouldn’t be bothering with him. This guy is still putting on a Show even with his best friend and it makes me think man. That’s gotta be stressful right. Like he just needs a friend he can untense his muscles around. I hope he learns how to treat Noelle like a normal person it is so important to me that they both just get to be friends.
because god knows that’s such an alienating process for Noelle as well. Noelle who notably also doesn’t have That many close friends and one of her only “best friends” is someone she grew up with that honestly she has a really weird kind of strained relationship with and now they aren’t even that close anymore, and her other best friend is still someone who doesn’t see her in full as herself and in the process of trying to fulfil a role he Doesn’t Need To also distances himself from her and she doesn’t really get to see him either.
