@cryptically-ambiguous
something holy inside you wants to get out but you can’t let it
[ID: a light brown rabbit under a blanket with black text in the corners reading “it has gotten better before / and it will again”. /end ID.]
What did... I look like. Before?
The pillar is cracking
The longer I am here, the less I can recall.
This world has many wonders that mine did not.
But mine had many comforts.
In this world, I have found love, warmth, stability.
But I have also, for the first time, learned fear.
I fear the limitations of a corporeal mind. I fear that I shan't recall the way when the time comes for me to return to my safe.
I fear the cruelty. How cruel, most of all, that I should have to abandon behind me all of the treasures I've gathered. Love cannot survive the thin conditions of the inbetween. I shall miss it, if I can manage to recall. If I can find it within me to remember.
I miss home.
Beware He who comes as he goes.
I passed him tonight. He did not seem to notice me. I was fortunate.
I saw him again tonight. One day, my luck will run out.

What happens to a house when it is left alone? When it becomes worn and aged, when its paint peels and its foundations begin to sink? When it goes too long unlived in?
What does it think of? What does it dream?
It may grow angry. Its basement may fill with churning acid like an empty stomach, and its gorge may rise as it asks itself through clenched teeth, "what did I do wrong?"
It may grow bitter.
It may grow hungry.
So hungry and so bitter that its scruples dissolve and its doors unlock themselves.
if i saw a ring of mushrooms i would simply hop in it and chug the first beverage i see
rip to people who don’t want to be wed to the fairy queen but i’m different
all you bitches have the self confidence of gods to assume you’re gonna wed the queen and not be hunted for sport
Hunted for sport if you're lucky
Do you have any laws for October?
Thank you for your query, anon. There are, of course, rules for October.
Mind you, October rules tend to have a bit of overlap with the general tips and laws for fall as a whole. Those that I've spoken about already can be found here, and here. This list will also not be covering Hallow's Eve, as that is a post in and of itself.
That being said, October-specific rules and tips are as follows:
A feather stuck upright in the earth is a gift
A feather upside down is a threat
If a pinecone hits you on the head, this is good luck (Provided that you are beneath a pinecone-bearing tree. Otherwise, it is a warning shot.)
Music coming from the earth is not an invitation
Mind your manners
Cats are harbingers
Carry a sprig of rosemary in your back pocket, behind your ear, or beneath your phonecase
Alternatively, carry a clove in your shoe
If you wish to be taken, stand over a puddle for the duration of a storm. Yell your terms to the clouds, and hope that they're accepted. Do not get your shoes wet.
In the event that you do not wish to be taken, don't do that.
Lock your bedroom window on Tuesdays
Bring your plants inside before the frost
If it does not snow where you are, bring them in anyways. They're lonely.
If it snowed already, do not trust the snow
Do not trust it.
Seashells are good luck this month. Hang them by your door
Get a pumpkin spiced latte. I've heard they're popular this season and you deserve nice things
That's not a rule, just a suggestion
Do not carry your wallet in your back pocket
Do not wear a blue backpack
Invest in a good mask
Understand that October is it's own time. It is not a month. It is not a season. It certainly is not a holiday. October is it's own, and it is ever changing. Do not expect consistency.
Find a deck of playing cards and carry them on your person
Do not follow the fox man. Do not listen to his song. If you see him, back away. Keep your eyes on his right hand, and back away slowly. Do not run. Do not look him in the eye. Do not follow his song. Back away.
Go stargazing before it gets too cold
I hope this was helpful to you in some way. As always, feel free to interpret these rules as general guidelines. Of course, that may come at the cost of your own safety but, well, when are any of us ever truly safe.
Put a finger down if, when the mother-creature placed your bud into the ichor of life, you bloomed screaming because you knew all at once that this existence would be an eternity of fear and confusion but also of more love and light than your physical form could ever possibly contain
Mademoiselles, where have you gone? I cannot see you. I can reach you no longer.
How am I to protect you if I cannot see you? I long for you. I hope after you that you are safe.
I fear that you have become the silent victim while my back was turned.
Could you forgive me if that were true?
Could I forgive you?
Do you have any laws for November?
November is a lawless month.
There are no rules for November as an individual time, despite there being laws for winter as a whole. This, my dear, is because November falls under another's domain.
There are no laws to help you navigate November, I'm afraid. November is a cruel, dark time for many. Most creatures hide away. Away from the iron shaving in the sky. Away from the merciless hand that wields a gilded whip. All hope is not lost, however. All hope is never lost. Listen close, for there may be no rules, but there are guides. There are cautions you can take.
May these warnings find you in good health, for we may all need them in this time of frost.
- Beware the frost elves. I've mentioned them before, so long ago. They come with the cold, and leave with more. They're dangerous, ruthless as the ice they fracture, and twice as deadly. Beware them, take heed, and never say their name.
- Iron will do you little good this month, as most who fear it are asleep. Carry salt.
- Do not ever venture out of doors during a whiteout. You will not return.
- Do not let anyone else venture out of doors during a whiteout. They who returns is not your friend.
- Snow muffles sound. You will not hear them coming. Stay alert.
- Black ice is dangerous, yes, but not just for your common car. It carries properties beyond us. It is a pollutant that will fester in your heart. Avert your eyes from it, lest it get you, too.
- Wear mittens. Extremities go first.
- Never burn a candle within view of your window. She will see it.
- Never speak my name.
- Carry a braid of thorns in your pocket.
- Never speak your full and true name to anyone. They will hear it, and they will take you away.
- Faerie circles will be buried in snow. Watch your step. Do not stray from your path. One mistake, and they will whisk you away, never to be seen again. Do not be taken for a fool. Stay on your path.
- She will see it.
- Invest in some good boots. Whether it snows in your home or not, boots are a helpful loophole to many of November's tricks. Place a coin beneath the sole. Use it as a bargaining chip.
- She will see it.
Dearest anon, be wary. Be delicate. Be safe. There is nothing but danger beyond the threshold of your home these next few weeks. You will be safe. Take caution, and nothing can go wrong.
I stole a wish from the river.
Perhaps now my tides will change.
