Repost… the fam cooking some hood meal shi
This might be an unpopular opinion but unless you have a very specific and narrow goal like getting Disney to re-instate Kimmnel boycotts dont serve a moral function
I mean, yeah my.personal belief is corps should be forced to act more ethically but the way to do that is pushing for laws and legistatiation that forces it because thats material change
But any alternative company you go to in modern society just does another kind of shitty thing
I mean, shit. The only sqeaky clean tech companies I can think of are ones that cant afford being evil so youd have to be Amish
Every food company is 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon'd to Nestle
Clothes are all made under appalling labor standards
Every game publisher works with Epic and we're boycotting them for something different every week. Unreal is basically a mob racket.
Cars, well none of us reading this can afford a new car off the lot so I guess that one moot
Let's not even upack the pharmaceutical industry at this point
I guess my point is that if you feel like you need to support a boycott, you follow your heart and do that because we all have to follow our convictions. I support you standing up for what you believe in.
But dont act like its a moral imperative when someone else doesnt want to or sometimes even reasonably can't participate in a given boycott
Unless its like, something complete absurd like your buddy wants to join P Diddys Patreon
Then just bitch slap him and show him what QBittorent is
Thats not to say alternatives to some things wouldnt be nice because lord knows Windows hasnt been good since Win7 and we've been going through the motions because drivers and compatibility wrappers are spotty on Linux
Then there's Google becoming AI central and getting ready to botch Android by killing side loading
Im even considering an Iphone if they do that shit and I hate modern Apple
AMD can't make anything right but CPUs, Nvidia is run by AI bros and Intel creates security vulnerabilities like its a feature.
So yeah, some viable alternatives and compeititon would be great for tech

Happy Mother’s Day!
Have I made an intro post yet?
Im Chris, a 33 year old progressive Christian furry from Iowa. I mostly write and draw but Ive also been getting into video production and programming
I enjoy retro computing (mostly Win9x and XP era) and emulation and post about that a lot. Also PC gaming in general.
Im also into stuff regarding paranormal/unexplained mysteries, urban legends, and ARGs. I can watch Nightmind for hours if I let myself.
I also like anime (particularly 80, 90s, and 2000s) and really animation in general
Im also a metalhead. Mostly power metal, numetal, doom, and classic 70s/80s metal but also some groove and metalcore when I want to go heavier
So follow me if you're into to any of that
I understand how flimsy censorship on old anime edits could be but Usagi/Serena getting shitfaced on Sailor Moon and no attempt to hide it past calling it juice is hilarious
Espio and Charmy getting groceries on a very rainy day. ☔I completed this in March, but I had a hard time thinking of a good description and kept putting off posting it.
HmMm, I made Espio look a little like his classic self in this one, makes me wonder when it takes place, heheh.
One thing you have to give the original Sailor Moon dub credit for is the sheer amount of full songs with vocals DiC and Cloverway recorded for it
And a lot of is par with you'd find in a theatrical animated movie
Vanilla I love herr 🧡🧡
The DiC dub of Sailor Moon using wasted as a euphemism for killed is great because it might actually be worse for how cold hearted it sounds
My family's first PC back in 1999 was a Windows 98 Compact Persario so I have a soft spot for this particular OS that made me happy to discover PCEM
Windows XP was kind of the last act for the wild west era computing and also part of a game the early indie gaming scene was emerging because of software like Gamemaker and RPG Maker
Septerra Core
An interesting western attempt at a JRPG style game I found on the $10 rack when I was a kid
Some screencaps of my Windows XP VM
