@cryptya
when i was a kid i decided that killing people was bad therefore war was bad therefore the military was evil. and adults would tell me it's more nuanced than that and i would understand when i grew up. well i'm a grown up now and idk i still think that killing people is bad and war is bad and the military is evil
dan and phil get out of my brain!!! let me draw something else!!!!
I put Dan and Phil in a 17th century Italian painting because that’s literally what they look like in this frame:
let us not forget all the people who are in ICE custody right now who are NOT "documented" citizens. let us not dehumanize anybody due to legal status. they deserve justice and safety just as much as those with documented status.
white americans when you tell them that the idea of climate change as an impending disaster is a reductive first world perspective because it’s a tangible reality for many in the global south already:
maybe if you see south and southeast asians dying in the heat and latin americans dying in floods and all you think of is imagining a reality where YOU are affected, then you should rethink how you see people of color. if you cannot see climate change as a real disaster until it is other americans dying in the heat and the floods and not just black and brown people, then don’t talk about climate change until you can acknowledge the grim reality of climate change for everyone.
What really ticks me off when talking about ai is when people are like "it's unavoidable" or "you'll have to learn to use it someday" or "its going to be part of the future" like no it's plenty avoidable actually if you have a spine stronger than a dandelion. You simply say "no" and continue to use your own goddamn brain.
ideal living situation is what i call the 'sitcom special' : having all your closest friends live in the same apartment building or neighborhood where you each have your own space but can wander in and out of eachothers homes at will, seemingly always welcome and never at bad times. and also all of you only have jobs when its important to the plot.
"you don't owe anyone anything" You are a tar pit. Speak for yourself. I personally owe the cafe employees my dishes put away and my friends a listening ear and small scared insects a cup and a gentle trip outside. Hyperindividualism is a rancid infection borne of capitalism and willfully misinterpreted therapyspeak and I will defy it by continuing to be kind regardless of whether or not it benefits me personally
maybe i like my tech a little bit inconvenient
maybe i like pulling out my debit card instead of using apple pay. maybe i like untangling my wired headphones. maybe i like typing something into the search bar instead of using siri or whatever. maybe i like curating my own social media feeds over an algorithm. i just don’t think everything has to be perfectly streamlined and efficient i like it when things feel tethered to the real world.
they should invent an apartment that has huge windows but is never too hot and is near everything i like and all my friends but is also quiet when i want it to be and costs zero dollars or perhaps they pay me to live in. and they save it just for me so i dont have to look for it :)

hey just a heads up, oreo is doing this as a distraction so you won't notice the boycott on oreos and their parent company, mondelez. along with Nestle, and proctor & gamble
they're being boycotted because the harvesting of palm oil and sugar cane for their products, like oreos, kit kats, smarties, ritz, herbal essences, pantene (products being boycotted) is all harming the indigenous Melanesian communities of West Papua New Guinea. the way that these products are being harvested is straight up ecocide. the communities' rivers are poisoned. their forests are being cleared with nothing left
we NEED to care, boost the power of the Melanesian communities, speak up about it, and save their communities and this earth.
you can make oreos at home y'all
