.・The Great Space Expedition .*ﾟ+

Welcome little astronauts, to your very first expedition! The ship is ready, the stars are twinkling and the moon- in all is silver glamour- watches from above.

Your job for this activity is to create your very own planet. Who lives there? what does it look like? what can you do there and how many moons can you see? To complete this event you can either: 🌙 . Write a short story about your expedition, discovery and exploration 🌌. Draw a picture of your planet, the locals and you 🌙 . Or create a pinterest board/moodboard with everything you think captures your planet! 🌌 . Or try all of the above, whatever you're up too!

Bed time, little one

╔═ . ☾ . ══════════════════ Hi here little one! my my, don't you look sleepy? heavy eyes and foggy thoughts, yes i think it's time for bed.

I know sometimes it dosent sound so fun, we wanna stay up all night playing games and watching our faveriout movies, but playing isn't so fun when your head feels all heavy, and movies aren't as good when our eyes don't want to stay open.

Lets get comfy, shall we?

Into our sleep clothes we go, the day time is over and the sun has gone to bed. Under our blankets we get, lullabies and nightlights, a hand carding through your hair while your teddy bear finds their way under your arm.

There's no need to worry. There's no need to stay up. I know that whatever you did today you did the best you could and that is all that counts my dear, i couldn't be prouder. Whatever you didn't get done today we can put to bed too, because night time is no time to be worrying about all we didn't do, we need rest for tomorrow after all and if the moon is up, we shouldn't keep it waiting, should we?

Shut your eyes, my love. Let the moon sing you to sleep, it's long past your bedtime, goodnight little star. ╚═════════════════════

Nostalgia entry #1

It's the smell of chlorine, clean and heavy filling your head with cotton while you walk in, voices cheering over silver railing while your parents check you in. It's the air too- dense and foggy, warm against your clammy skin while you wade to the changing rooms, plastic yellow stalls that run along your side. It's the echoing voices filling your ears and the soft fabric of your swimming costume against your skin- plastic goggles gripping your hair. It's the roaring of water and the rush of flumes as you step up to the pool side, Whoosh! over your head, and the grip of blue tile under your feet.

It's the water around your ankles, up up up to your chin, warm and heavy, white foam just under your nose. It's the slides and the roaring wind whipping by your face, your own squeals of joy and the inevitable "again again!" It's the bubble of the lazy river too, and the sharp spattering of waterfalls and spray tunnels echoing all around your ears. It's swimming, the day out you were taken on all those years ago. the pool that still stands in your memory, untouched by time.

🌧 Rainy day🌧 (a short agere story)

╔═ . ☾ . ══════════════════ Pitter patter, Pitter patter, rain knocked up against the window. Grey and drizzly the heavy clouds like collections of cotton turning the world outside to a fuzzy blur. And you? well, you were soaked to the bone. "I'm sorry, my dear. it wasn't supposed to go like that." mama muttered, her voice all blurry as the rough woolen towel ruffled through your hair. It was supposed to be a trip to the park, but the weather in all her glory, had other plans apparently. so, from your hair to your arms, all the way to the tips of your toes the towel sponged away the clammy rain water, your your hairs still stood on end and your nose still sniffled- only one fix for that. "let's get these on you, you'll be feeling better in no time." She added, towel finally dropped from your eyes, bathroom light humming as pitter patter, pitter patter, the rain raged on. They were the soft sort, the pajamas she'd gotten out, smooth and thin- it was still summer after all, and as they pulled over your head warmth settled under your skin, one final shiver for good measure. "There you are.." Mama hummed, one hand along your cheek, a smile then mwa! a tiny kiss on your nose. You whine, wiggle and huff, but all she dose is smile and whisper "I love you, my little rain cloud." handing you your teddy bear. Good thing he didn't come to the park too, you'd hate to see him all soggy. "now, hows about we go make some hot coco?" She asks, and your eyes light up because hot chocolate fixes everything. Maybe rainy days aren't so bad after all. ╚═════════════ . ☁️ . ═════

Its ok to feel like this.

Sometimes you might not feel like a happy sparkly star. Sometimes you might not feel like i want to play and smile. Sometimes you might not feel like you belong in a bright playroom full of toys and colours, and that's ok. Sometimes it's ok to just be- you don't have to be happy and sparkly all the time, i know i don't, sometimes i just feel like this. and that's ok too.

🫧 Sick (agere short story) 🧸

╔═ . ☾ . ══════════════════ Bed felt like a kingdom. there were blankets swaddling every inch of the mattress, stacked pillows and crumbled tissues, your stuffed animal clutched in your arms and sunlight streaming in through the window, warm but somehow still cold. Birds were singing somewhere, cars rolling by, and downstairs was the rattle pop of mama, but you were too sleepy to figure out what- nose sore, eyes heavy, a cough caught in your throat- spring sickness a flu caught from school. Creak crack! the stairs groaned. Sheets crinkled as you looked up, stuffed animal pressing closer as if mumbling "its ok" as creak! the door swung open. "Hi baby, how are you feeling?" It was mama, lazy day hoodie wrapped up around her as she wandered in. "Do you think you'd be up to try some soup? i know you don't feel good but you have to eat something.." She asked, wandering in, carpet shh shhing under her feet. And so the sheets were pulled off, cold nipping at your nose though not for long, mama pulling a sweater over your head taking your hand in hers and leading you for the door. The hallway swept, stairs groaned, and by the time you got downstairs your eyes were already heavy again, head stuffed with cotton and- you were on the couch, blanket swaddled around you, TV on mumbling some movie with a dog who liked to cause trouble. "I'll be right back ok, little love?" fingers through your hair and another pasing car by the window. Creak crack, she shuffled away, and then there was quiet, quiet that settled over you like winter snow, the mumble on the TV falling in thick autumn fog while sun sifted in- summer hue pouring in. For a little while it stayed just like that, you and your stuffed animal watching the TV till creak crack! mama was back. "there we go.." she mumbled, blacking it in your lap on a little tray, juice right next to it, steam up at your face. You mumbled out a thank you and start to sip, muted tones of tomato, cream, something warm under it all while mama sits down next to you, nails carding through your hair as you sniffle. It was warm, heavy, tugged your eyes harder breaking a yawn at your lips while your eyelids fluttered as if you could nap forever, curl up on the couch and stay there. "we'll do this, get you some medicine, then we can try a nice warm bath ok? that sound good?" You nod, because the idea of warm water, bubbles and soap feels like a warm hug, and there she goes running fingers back through your hair. Soup, sun, mama and a movie, that pesky cold stood no chance. ╚═════════════ . ☁️ . ═════

Play time for little ones!

╔═ . ☾ . ══════════════════ Hello little ones! feeling playful but aren't sure what to do? That's ok, sometimes playing sounds a lot easier than it feels, so i put together a little list of super fun, super easy things to do!

🖍﹒Stuffie passports: Line up whatever toys or stuffies you have and make them tiny passports with paper and pencils! you can even laminate them with tape if you want!

🧸﹒Sensory play: Try filling a bowl with water, add bubbles if you want, and find some watersafe things around the house! things like cotton balls, toys, paper shapes and sponges, see which ones float, which ones sink, or fill the sponge up with water an squeeze it out over the bowl, it can be a really nice texture!

🖍﹒Build a fort: it doesn't have to be fancy, just a few blankets, a few pillows and all your stuffed friends, bring a show you like and some snacks!

🧸﹒Simple crafts: make something silly like a sock puppet or if you can, get a blank bird house or fairy door to decorate, you can find them in most craft stores!

🖍﹒Old game consoles: playing on old consoles like game boys, DS's or old ipad games can be a great way to spend time while your regressed, especially for the little ones who have a hard time staying focused

🧸﹒Scavenger hunts: write a list of things you can find around your house- paper, pencils, stuffies ect, and go on a scavenger hunt to find them! count as many blue things you can see or collect every paper clip you can find!

🖍﹒Doodling: fill a page with doodles, whatever you think looks nice like a sky of stars, a field of flowers or all your favorite characters on one piece of paper!

🧸﹒Draw your own story: make a little comic of you and your stuffies on an adventure, where would you go? what would you do? who would you meet?

🖍﹒Make believe (if you can): if you feel up to it, try playing a game of make believe! it can be something simple like playing house with a few toys or setting up a little tea party on a blanket, what do you talk about? maybe one toy has a story they're itching to tell, or maybe another toy wants to hear about the show you just finished watching!

🧸﹒Remember that there is no "right way" to play. whatever feels fun to you, whatever makes you feel ok, do it. your way of playing is just as real as everyone else's.

I'm Proud Of You

╔═ . ☾ . ══════════════════ Hey there little one! A quick little note to say, i'm proud of you. I'm proud of you for dealing with your big feelings, i know it's not easy, and i know sometimes it feels like they'll never go away, but every day you get through is proof that you are stronger than them. I'm proud of you for handling the little things that bother you, and its ok to say they bother you, you aren't being sensitive, you're just being human, and humans have bad days. I'm proud of you for cleaning up that mess, you aren't bad for making a mess, you're good for cleaning it back up, and for that i am proud of you. I'm proud of you for doing that really hard thing that you didn't mention, i know it must have felt impossible at the time, but look how far you've come I'm proud of you for taking care of yourself, i know sometimes it can feel hard, sometimes we feel bad about it, but i'm proud that you did it, because you deserve to feel better. I'm proud of you for letting yourself be small, there's nothing wrong with it, and I'm glad you felt comfortable enough to do it. And most of all I'm proud of you for all the things you're going to do, because you got through today, and that means you can get through anything. I'm proud of you, and you should be too <33 ╚═════════════ . ☁️ . ═════

Shower time! (agere short story)

╔═ . ☾ . ══════════════════ It smelled like soap- sudsy and bubbly, something you could only call "clean" The shower splashed, rolling down over your hair, down your shoulders and all the way to the pattering floor as you scrunched your eyes and pressed your lips together. Soap was not tasty, you'd learned that the hard way. Hands were in your hair, rubbing, scrubbing, that pop pop pop of bubbles filling the air as mama did her best to keep it out your eyes and you fiddled with a foam letter you couldn't see, but you could guess it was "L" by the shape alone. Something clicked- popped really echoing off the tiles and back to your ears while a mumbled voice rattled out "nearly done.." and scrub scrub scrub! your hair tangled in her fingers.

Click! scrape! rattle, then a hand over your forehead and the rush of water rumbling away in your ears. Its warm- loud but in the best way it could be with bubbles pooling around your knees where you sat, and water swirling down the drain- grumble grumble, grumble rumble. rRnce rince rince, the L spins in your hand till finally click! drip drip! the shower was hung back up on the wall still rushing to the floor. You sniffle, rub your eyes and find only shimmering water, sparkling bubbles and the glow of light against tiles decorated in those same foamy letters- "cat" "tree" and "tuesday" spelled out among a collection of letters you hadn't found words for just yet. "there you are!" mama giggled, wiping drips off your face, passing you a sponge that clings to your fingers. click! pop! another bottle opens, more soap but apply this time, still not tasty, you won't fall for its tricks again.

scrub scrub scrub! the days aches washed off, tired dripping down the drain till shower time was over- click! the water trailng to a tipper patter stop.

before you know it you're wrapped up in a towel, under a hair dryer in fuzzy night time pajamas. sweet dreams little one, i think you've earned a good rest. ╚═════════════ . ☁️ . ═════
