Fuck it, i’ll make my own gay man/mlm pride flag and put some actual effort into its design instead of “the lesbian flag but blue”

Its heart and main stripes’ colors and their meanings are taken from the original Gilbert Baker pride flag, with red being the middle stripe of seven because I’ve viewed being gay as one of the central and luckiest parts of my life. The green and light blue stripes, representing nature and magic/art respectively, ended up on the ends more by chance than anything but I think that suits it well symbolical speaking. Like love between men is encompassed by both how natural and magnificent it is, and deserves to be cherished and celebrated for everything in between. And it makes the middle five resemble a sunset this way :-) [edit: which could be seen as representing romantic love, while the heart is sexual love (given that the pink stripe of the original pride flag represents sex)]

The kissing trans flag and brown gradient mars/male symbols are meant to represent love and solidarity between and towards moc, trans men, and nonbinary people who are attracted to men and view that attraction as gay.

[I made this with the initial intent for it to be just a gay man flag, but honestly? This flag may be used by all mlm and nblm that feel it applies to them 😚❤️]

Shiny roaming raikou after 390 elite four rematches! (780 seen)

I’ve always heard it’s not worth it to hunt the roamers outside of when they’re first released from the burned tower, but I wanted to try anyway just to see how bad it was, and honestly it’s not too bad. It’s slow don’t get me wrong, but the bulk of time is just having it on the side while gen 4 hp bars slowly do their thing in the background. It only ever really needed my attention once it was time to actually look for the roamers. In any case, I think I’m genuinely the first person to ever hunt them with this method and I am ecstatic that I got Raikou first!

Got possessed to make an alolan persian redesign last night. Some ramblings about design choices under the cut.

I wanted to maintain that additional sassy/smug energy alolan meowth has over the regular. Being as the whole idea is that these are a feral population descended from pampered house cats brought to alola, I wanted to better convey the idea that they’re a fancier, more domesticated breed of persian.

Alolan persian’s big head—being a plain circle—always looked too simple; it’s under designed to a point where it’s hard to tell from the design alone if its actual head is bigger than its kantonian counterpart, or if it just has longer fur… that is only on it’s head for some reason. Yeah that stark shift from big head to a regular slim persian body only exacerbates that issue. It honestly looks kind of disfigured.

I figured the best way to remedy this was to simple make the big head more clearly legible as fur, and to taper down into the body with a big collar mane like you see in longhair cat breeds, to help the design flow better. I also made the underlying anatomy a bit chunkier in the chest and shoulders to really ham up the idea that these guys come from a domestic background; they’re the quintessential pampered, overfed lap cats that get regularly let outside to decimate the local ecosystems’ small fauna populations. It’s presumably where the dark typing comes from after all. Like real outdoor cats they take well more than they need; hunting is mostly play, not necessity.

Otherwise it’s a pretty simple redesign. I recognize it’s supposed to be a little goofy, but like with mega star/mie, that’s not an excuse to leave a design underbaked, and I hope enough of that silly little bigheaded cat energy still carries over here not just in visuals but personality too.
