also I didn't really plan on writing more of 'A Village On Fire' (the sagelander fic) BUT I got some great comments and Sage was done SO dirty by s5, so I HAD to come back to it. literally how did they flub my girl like thatttt.

when I posted ch1, I didn't have any of ch2 written, and usually if I'm posting more than a oneshot, I wait to post the first part until I have more. it was just a vague maybe idea. but I've slowly been picking away at ch2. it's 80% complete, I'd say :)

anyway, just wanted to give a little update since it's been "not finished" (WAS finished, then expanded) for a hot minute.

but forewarning it is very nihilistic. I mean, this is Sage we're talking about lol. definitely noooot fluff. there is a happy-ish ending, though!

some gabbing about the omegaverse thing i’m working on + excerpts bc im losing my mind about this wip:

i’m having a very fun time constructing this AU. i’ve repurposed and reshaped a few omegaverse concepts to fit a more exploitative vought style of doing things. one thing that’s always kept me away from omegaverse is that it make my brain hurt imagining how a society would be able to function like that, which is no fun of me and dumb because fiction is fiction, but yeah. i’m just like, how does anything get done if so much of the population is down for the count in heat or rutting all the time? ik there’s answers to that within omegaverse, but man i feel bad for the betas. imagine picking up that slack. maybe because when i took the test i got beta LOL. anyway!

in this AU, A/B/O is a side effect of Compound V. and because vought is vought, it’s a secret. here’s a segment of what i have so far breaking it down:

i don’t really want to spoil anything else about world building bc there are a few twists and turns, but i’ve been enjoying setting up the ways vought lies to and keeps both omegas and alphas in the dark. heavy on the “we’re a drug company” thing. i’m also trying to preserve their personalities as much as i can with the A/O dynamic, but i think they pretty naturally fit into that.

as for details about the structure, it’s dual POV between annie and homelander. homelander knows more, but of course, what he’s been told has been filtered to keep him desperate for it, and thus loyal to vought enough to not rebel. annie has a bit of an audience surrogate thing going on, in that she’s learning a lot of the info and how this works as we do. honestly, part of that is because IVE been learning lol. it’s a bit fish out of water, like how she was in s1, but more with A/O dynamics.

because it’s one of the 2026 prompts and something i don’t usually touch much with Homelight (he’s so mentally ill and stunted, it really comes out in the wash to me, it’s just a perk that he’s a dilf LOL), i’m leaning into the age gap for this. more bc im doing submissive alpha, and with that, the subversion of power dynamics is interesting to explore.

im still working on the second and third chapters (i think that’s all it’ll be) but in chapter 2, homelander’s behavior is more outwardly expected alpha behavior, and by chapter 3, annie realizes he needs a firm hand, almost by accident. his alpha aggression/dominance is more of a tantrum thing.

atp, im trying to jam as many prompts into this beast of a work as i can as a challenge. i mean, its long as is, might as well stack the deck, right? so far i have:

- non trad omegaverse (duh) as well as expected omegaverse elements

- age gap

- first time

- public sex

- wet and messy

- collars

- breeding kink, mating press, etc (but no pregnancy, tbh i just don’t care about that at all)

- thigh riding

aaaaand basically every sex act. daddy kink is also an honorable mention, but it’s more ironic? in that homelander is offended she’s shocked by his age, and he’s being petulant. i can’t really explain that in detail without spoiling anything, but i assure you, in my opinion, it’s a very hot scene.

i’m pretty happy that i’ve been able to fit all the prompts the reader who commented to request this suggested into one work. at first, i thought it’d need to be two, but this has snowballed so much lol.

i think that’s all i can say now?

i feel like i’m going insane working on this. it’ll be hard to save it for october, but im very excited to share it. it’s a bit comedic in tone bc omegaverse is very camp to me, but that’s a draw hopefully. it’s mostly played straight, i’d say it falls into the crack treated seriously realm, but it’s funny (imo). there’s also a bit of a horror element, depending on how you look at it. and it’s VERY porn-y. so much smut. ch1 is all plot, but from there, lots of smut scenes.

in the past 24 hours i have feverishly written 7.5k words of omegaverse starlander arranged marriage AU for kinktober … and WE ARENT EVEN AT THE SEX PART 😔 i literally do kinktober purely bc i am so bad at writing something just slutty and fun yet here i am … smut is my mistress but plot is my wife

annie letting hughie name the baby after robin is the most “i’m a male writer and this is deep” thing everrrr. it just gives me flashbacks to the stories of guys naming kids after the one that got away.

the only redeeming thing about it i can say is at least they didn’t name the baby hope though and be cliche on that front

If we put on our Starlander hats, the #Homelight era is downright Shakespearean re:comedy of errors and cheating. The public would have reason to believe that Starlight cheated on Hughie Campbell with Homelander (cmon, holding hands on the red carpet? And they got together out of NOWHERE right after she was seen with Hughie during the Dawn of the Seven premiere… very suspicious…). However, of course, Annie hasn’t broken up with Hughie, so really, technically, she’s cheating on her on-screen boyfriend Homelander with her real boyfriend Hughie. But really, she’s having an affair behind her ‘status:it’s complicated’ boyfriend Hughie with her evil co-captain, Homelander. It’s all just very fun.

hey it’s crystalcovenpocketwatch from ao3! ik baby’s first tumblr in the big ‘26 is kinda wild, but here i am. honestly i’m just a very shy person. forgive me for my jank blog lmaoo i’m still figuring this out.

idk what all i’ll post other than deleted scenes, extra chapter notes, writing talk, maybe some upcoming work snippets, and the occasional invitation for requests. BUT with kinktober 2026 on the horizon, i wanted to be a little easier to communicate with. leaving the invite for prompt suggestions deeeep into an ongoing work didn’t seem very productive lol. i got a few great responses, but i didn’t want anyone to miss out. ironically, rn i am shouting into the void bc i wont be able to link the blog to my most trafficked fic until i update it, but yeah.
