guys had anyone considered an aftg au where instead of exy they were competitive cheerleaders?? i was just discussing with my sister and it would be so funny to me to reimagine it all from the lense of them being competitive cheerleaders. perfect court as a stunt group??? riko flying bc he’s a diva and needs to be center of attention, kevin backspotting (but has flown before and ate it up. riko forbade it bc he hated the competition). i am not sure how the bases would work considering neil is significantly shorter than jean and wouldn’t be able to support a stunt but that’s semantics.

foxes as cheer positions:

dan - main base. you know that girl is strong enough to support a group and she’d be beast at it

kevin - backspot but he HAS flown and is a pretty good flyer. he’s def diva enough to give facials in the air and i just know he’d be flexible

andrew - main base. beefy shoulders and the strength to carry a flyer despite his height

matt - backspot but he has main based in tall groups (thinking kevin flying, seth backspotting and nicky side basing). prefers main basing but alas, he’s not able to due to the lack of backspots on the team 😓

aaron - side base. the height to support a main base but not beefy enough to main himself. he COULD, but he doesn’t because he prefers siding (also by side basing, he’s able to stunt with andrew)

seth - backspot though he has side based before

allison - flyer (according to my sister) but i do think she can do it all tbh. i just know my girl is packing enough strength to do either basing position and her height allows her to backspot certain groups

nicky - side base though he’s forced to backspot due to his height sometimes (depends on the group)

renee - side base 100% (most often bases with andrew bc they’re besties like that 😋)

neil - flyer bc all his strength is in his legs and stomach. arms? not so much. you just know that man can hold his weight in the air and squeeze like his life depends on it. and he’s 100% flexible. never quite learned to base properly but if he had to he’d be a side base. he started as a side base (like he started as a backliner) but switched to flying when he got to high school and the foxes. symbolic of his trust in his team to hold him up and catch him if he falls (my sister’s idea)

Super funny, but also, crazy because of the height differences.

So I raise you up for more: Kevin was a GREAT flyer when he was a kid. Until one day he had an "accident" and got a tough mental block.

By the time he managed to get over his fears, he grew up and was too tall and not really easy for anyone to have him as flyer, so he switched to Backspot.

But

He's always been flexible and incredibly strong. Therefore, he's the powertumbler of the team. (Though I can see 2base stunts with Nicky, Matt and Kevin as flyer)

Andrew and Aaron often have to base together, and HATE it (at first). But then they became Foxes and Renee helped. And once they start resolving their issues, they become one of the strongest bases someone could wish.

Agreed that Neil switched from side base to flyer, but it was a long process for the team to make him trust them. Also really good at tumbling.

Also, given the trust he has in Andrew and Andrew's strength, they like to partner-stunt.

(Neil and Jean also partner-stunt because yes. Especially in the Nest. #misplaced forever partners)

Bonus: USC stunt group -> Cat as main base, Jeremy as side base, Jean as backspot and Laila as flyer. (I feel like Jeremy could've been a flyer, but due to knee/ankle issues he didn't have enough stability to keep doing it)

AHHH I LOVE THIS. THE IN DEPTH-NESS OF THIS IS SO WELL DONE. kevin is 1000% an amazing tumbler. you just know the ravens paid for extra tumbling lessons for the perfect court. kevin just has the finesse for it i think

the twinyards makes so much sense because you just know those two would beef it out so bad in the beginning. imagine this: the stunt comes down for whatever reason and aaron’s just like “that was your fault andrew 🫵” and andrew’s just like “no it was YOURS” and then neil’s just standing between them like 🧍 because it was actually his fault. eventually the twins work it out and they become so unstoppable. (it’d also work to help with aaron and neil’s relationship because you gotta have trust to be able to work together in a stunt)

i also see the USC positions as well. cat as a main base just makes soo much sense and i can totally see jeremy flying. i feel like he’s done it before and didnt mind it but def preferred basing since his family is very weird with their beliefs (flyers are typically female so you just know they’d criticize him for it)
