Dabi makes some kind of noise of protest as Hawks wrestles him into the coat and scarf, huffing again in annoyance. But at least it’s in his style, and surprisingly in his size, so he doesn’t say anything about it. In fact, he buries his half-masked face into the scarf as Hawks drags him back out into the cold, curling in on himself and sticking closer to the other in order to keep warm. Behind his mask, there’s a ghost of a smile while he watches Hawks study the decorations.
Dabi himself may not be much for holidays ( at the expense of Toga constantly calling him a grinch ) but there’s definitely something endearing about watching Hawks get so excited about the season. It reminds Dabi of how he used to be, when he was just Akito Todoroki. When it was just him and his siblings, and even their mother, at least for a while. He’d normally hate that kind of innocence in anyone else, but in Hawks, it just makes him fall harder for him.
He’s snapped back to reality when Hawks places Dabi’s hands on his cheeks, blinking down at the other. “Guess they do look nice, yeah,” he agrees, only paying half attention, because he’s a little distracted by the way Hawks look in the colorful lights with red on his cheeks.
Then he’s distracted by the way he kisses him through his mask, red blooming on Dabi’s own cheeks– at least where his skin isn’t charred, that is. After the other pulls him away, the taller male wraps his arms around his waist to pull him closer again, resting his chin atop his head, releasing a contented sigh.
“Estoy feliz cuando estoy contigo, Querido.”
He laughs, snuggling into Dabi’s arms. He feels at home with him, at home in his arms. Hawks has never really experienced a Christmas with anyone. He always been too busy with hero work. Even when he was little, he never got to have a Christmas. So it was nice to spend it with someone, even if that someone hated it. He smiles, his arms tightening around Dabi. He swears he hears giggling around him. They must have looked really cute in order to elicit that sort of response. He huffs, peering around Dabi. He was right, there’s an ever growing crowd of people, probably interested in who the number two hero was hugging.
He grabs Dabi’s arm, taking off down the street and bolting into another store. This one is a quiet store with only a few people in it. Hawks lets out a soft sigh, turning to look at a plush polar bear. He picks it up, turning it this way and that way. He stares into its beady eyes for a minute, turning to Dabi. He smiles holding the polar bear up.
“When I was little, I used to love polar bears. They were my favorite animal, and honestly, they still are.” He stares at the polar bear for a moment, before putting it back to rejoin the others. He gives each polar bear a pat, before wandering further into the store. There are multi-colored lights strung up along the walls and a large tree in the middle of the store. There are several large polar bears sitting under it along with some reindeer. He proceeds to crouch down and pat them all with a soft smile on his face.
His long fingers brush over the bear’s head. “Aki----Dabi, come feel them. They’re so soft.” He waves Dabi over, pointing to a reindeer. He picks it up in his arms, drowning in how big it was. He must have looked ridiculous. “Feel him!”
