My original take on Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, done for an art class I’m taking now!

Anything to walk on land 🔪 2021
its never gonna go away
a FASCINATING phenomenon ive noticed online in commission artist communities, is the new "paranoia" of scams now that these age-old scams you see your grandpa falling for is actually affecting chronically online users now. like people constantly asking if this client with bad english is a scammer, or omg my client takes forever to respond are they SCAMMING me???
and its just revealed to me that a lot of young people online genuinely believed that scams only targeted old, vulnerable people, and it could never affect them! a very smart internet literate big boy of course.
but they're not actually very internet literate are they. like they could look into common scam tactics and practice internet safety (like not giving away your card info to suspicious links...genuinely what?) but no instead they clench their jaws in paranoia that everything a client does is an attempted SCAM when all thats happening is the client just isnt very communicative lmao
Making friends at the yarn show 🐑🐈

How long does it take you to make a finished/full render drawing? I always worry I take too long on mine 😣
csp 3.0 has a nifty feature that shows how long you worked on something so i can actually answer very accurately! most of my pieces take no longer than 10 hours. shortest ive taken was 5 hours. i just take a lot of breaks in between XD
in my opinion most full render pieces shouldnt take longer than 12 or even 15 hours depending on its scale. ive seen some people admit they take an eye-watering 30 hours on a single piece and tbh at that point you really ought to cut down on whatever is delaying your work so much. not because you should draw *faster* but rather i feel art is at its highest quality when you arent feeling that "ughh i took 20 hours and its nowhere near finished" feeling
my suggestion for if you think you take "too long" is to identify which stage delays you the most. and see if you can either skip it or simplify it. for a lot of artists i find that the answer is usually that they dont know how the finished product will look so they end up refining and refining and sinking hours into something they end up not liking
so good luck! art should be fun and you should feel good doing it

ive been tweaking this character's design for a few months now, and hoppefuullyy im done tweaking it? gulp...
saying this here instead of twitter because i value my mental health but tbh the way "art" and "vtuber" studios/brokers have completely overtaken the commission sphere in anime spaces is genuinely so frustrating
its whatever if its like 3 friends who got together to put their skills together (art + rig + design, for example) but an actual entire studio with dedicated communication departments to speak to clients, and people who are dedicated to marketing makes doing commissions way too industrialised and exhausting
the worst part is vtubers who work with these studios anyway because they dont see the issue with these art accounts who post like 3 times a day and suffocate every art tag with their work, which an individual commission artist could never hope to achieve. and of course appealing to the algorithm like that is going to make them *more* visible to people.
actually no the actual worst part is how so many of them arent even transparent about being a studio or broker, so many of them genuinely larp as 18 to 20 something year old """kawaii""" """japanese""" artists with stupid """"japanese"""" names UNTIL more vtubers and a platform like vgen enforced more transparency with these studios. like what is going on lmao
this is the true consequence of what happens when you industrialise commissions to this degree, you just lose integrity and become numb to the way people treat art as a means to a profit, and not like, art
man whatever just wanted to get this off my chest. wish i had the ability to be brief like other users on this site but brevity is not my strong suit
What programs do you use to draw/animate/edit?
omgomg an ask i always love getting these
i use csp to draw, tvpaint 10 and 11 to animate, and after effects to put it together :] ive been thinking of incorporating toonboom since a lot of western peers use it but its been a bit difficult to acclimate to
