Charging for materials + labor is not profit. Charging for materials + labor + overhead is not profit. Charging for materials + labor + overhead + tools is not profit. (Note that businesses can write off the costs of labor, overhead, and tools on their taxes. Those aren't part of their annual profits.)

Profit is gain that isn't related to the value of the thing or its related costs, including labor.

Profit is always "I'm charging this much because I can."

Sometimes it's stolen wages: "I will charge this much and not pay my workers any extra for it." Sometimes it's stolen from the community: "This item is only for rich people; I'm marking it up so only millionaires can buy one." Sometimes there's exotic tax games to steal profit from the government.

But profit is always, always, always charging more for something than it's worth. Profit is a wealth extraction process that takes money from the have-nots and gives it to the already-haves.

You are not stealing from people by charging for your labor. That is charging for your labor, and though you are profiting from your work, that isn't "profit" in the sense we're talking about here. That is compensation for labor.

Lawyers often charge $200+ an hour for labor.

Reasonable costs for labor include "pay me for the time I spent developing the skills it takes to be able to do this in one hour instead of ten, and having it look good instead of like a sloppy mess."

How much is actually reasonable?

Depends. Depends on the skill in question, the materials involved (aside from material costs--some materials are more stressful to work with than others), pressure details like deadlines, how difficult the skill is to master, and so on. There isn't a sharp answer to that.

But compensation for labor is not profit. And the way small business law is set up is designed to make that confusing AF. (Because most of our business laws were designed for large corporations and the laws scale down badly.)

btw there was actually an art project led by three students (Ail Hwang, Hae-Ryaan Jeon and Ghung Ki Park) in Germany to install colorful window panes onto an electrical transmission tower to create a stained glass mosaic effect, called "Leuchtturm" ("lighthouse") and even such a simple effect is dazzling
