What can a caravel ship do in the face of inevitable death? When it can no longer sail, no longer move, broken beyond repair? The answer to that is simple.
It starts by refusing.
An A.U where the Going Merry is given a new form, and a second chance to fulfill her dreams.

I am on the constant urge to explode and explode and explode about Going Merry's relationships with the StrawHats. The urge to word vomit over actually writing the next chapter over posting all the doodles over keeping plot points a secret until the chapters are out over over over--
An assortment of Merry doodles from my sketchbook.
Next set of doodles are on Merry's relationships with the StrawHats in the distant chapters. I had to cut off a few that were spoilers.
A slightly detailed sheet about the Going Merry! A good chunk of her body has burn scars. Because I think it's funny that Luffy loses so many of his loved ones to. To fire.
The characteristic of a happy-go lucky captain, who rolls with any and every odd encounter with a massive grin. The kind of captain who will proudly proclaim another person's willingness to die for their dreams, and allow enemies safety on his own ship.
Or. The terrible longing of a captain who has faced severe grief, riddled with abandonment issues and fears of losing all he has created for himself. The kind of captain who clings and clings and refuses to let even a single one of his crew members leave, no matter their circumstances.
Like. When I write about any character, I love doing a close character analysis beforehand. I have a journal FILLED with notes about all the StrawHats. I write down their speaking quirks, their personality quirks, things that makes them them. Luffy's no exception.
But I've somehow wrote myself into a situation where Luffy would have two VERY different reactions, because its Luffy. I am having a fierce debate with myself about which action he'd most likely do.
I have citations and evidence compiled to justify both actions.
This scene wont even be written down for another several chapters.
I would like to thank my closest irl friend for helping with this part of the story. She knows nothing about one piece, but a lot about writing stories.
I've resolved the two wolves situation.
Luffy, however. Is not going to have a good time. Oop
