I've seen your art before and it is spectacular but I got a question for you if you had to draw one ship completely out of the ordinary that no one would ever think of for MLP what would it be and why

Definitely RutherPie, I love them sm, they're my favorite rarepair and like no one ever thinks of them because most people don't like the yaks (minus Yona) or they just don't pair Pinkie with many other characters

sometimes there's a ship that you don't personally indulge in (or even mildly dislike) but you still agree with the general idea of it and maybe support it's fans against detractors so you're basically a #Ally to the ship

Okay, I'm gonna be a shipper for a moment.

So... in a lot of people talking about Nirei clocking Suo and Sakura having feelings for each other... I think it's pretty established at this point in canon that Nirei is BAD at picking up on romantic tension. At least in the gravel arc when he thought that Kanji and Shizuka were just good friends.

(if you don't ship suo/saku that is perfectly fine and don't come for me in the comments. I once again will repeat: I DO NOT expect this ship to become canon, if their friendship is too important to you to be comfortable with shipping discussions this post is not for you and I hope you have fun in your little corner. I truly mean it, just don't be rude to anyone on either side. BUT I also think it's important to remind people that all character studies you read from other fans are filled with bias. This is mine. lol )

I understand that people have their ship preferences, always will have their ship preferences. I myself have preferred all kinds of fictional ships over the years. Sweet ones, simple ones, easy going ones, antagonistic ships, annoying ships, toxic ships, ect, ect...

But I have never encountered a more uncomfortable romantic ship than Rhaegar x Lyanna.

I'm not talking about the age difference, though that is a whole mountain of trouble in itself.

No, I'm talking about what George Martin, the author, decided to do in his books to the woman who had the misfortune of being already married to one half of this pre-series OTP when he met his Lady "love" Lyanna.

All ships have rivals, a third wheel, another potential partner for one half of the OTP, to spice up the story, create drama, present a challenge to be overcome in the name of True Love.

But before R+L, I had never come across an OTP, for which to happen all tragically... The male hero's already existing wife had to watch their already existing children be obliterated and then she was r*ped to death herself.

Like... What?

Rhaegar the silver haired prince met his spunky Lady Lyanna, they fell in love and ran off! True love! Nothing stands in its way! Oh, yeah, Rhaegar was already married, his wife was actually present and pregnant for the second time when he decided to publicly romance his cousin's fiancee right in front of the world. And then the unworthy sickly wife got held hostage with her kids by her insane racist father in law for a year, while the Silver Prince honeymooned in her homeland with Wilful Lady Lyanna...

And since that isn't enough, the wife died r*ped and murdered! After having to watch her children be brutally slaughtered!

Poor Rhaegar x Lyanna! Such tragedy! Such romance!

Shipping is Serious Business, I know...

But I'm a bit at a loss as to how anyone can ship a ship where the already existing wife had to... get r*ped and murdered... to fulfill her cheating husband and his mistress's tragic romance?

None of even my most toxic ships have ever resulted in the r*pe and murder of an already existing wife, or husband for that matter.

It would honestly turn me forever off of even my biggest OTPs, if a third party who never did anything to anyone, had to get r*ped and murdered for the sake of my ship appearing all tragic.

Just... Why?

What was the need for this level of brutality?

How can the shippers stand it?
