ā ā” hello, petals. i know its been a couple of days with complete radio silence on my end and i deeply apologize! i wanted to make this post sooner but i've only had access to a working connection and computer until now, but i, admin jo, will be taking a hiatus for the next month as i am actually going on a relatively long trip oversees to visit family! i wanted to say this on main rather than the discord just so everyone could see. i should have internet connection here and there, to which i'll happily reply on my character account and continue to make things on the inspo blog and whatnot, but please don't expect there to be any consistency with me. if anything i'd probably be far more easier to reach on d*sc since its easier than taking out a whole laptop. regardless, there are my two fellow admins who will be here in my stead who will be happy to help with anything you guys may need, but please bear in mind that they are busy as well. many of us are on hiatuses right now, especially with school around the corner and work being work! please don't let the slow dash discourage you from going inactive! as we've said before, this is a very casual group where the aim is to write and build a world together for the long run. all of you have my heart and i wanted to say thank you for being a part of this lovely group, we couldn't have asked for a better little family. so please, if anyone needs anything at all, do not hesitate to contact us on our d*scords, which you can find in the server! now if you'll excuse me i must continue packing for my agonizingly long flight tomorrow morning.

yuri, her mother and father are all seated at their grandiose dining table and all seems well from a far. yet her mother is visibly concerned - her favorite pearl necklace is missing to her great dismay. all hope is lost. yuri however doesnāt say a word. she remains silent, too focused on the delicious food on her pretty porcelain plate.
āādonāt worry, dear. iāll get you a new one,āā her father coos, doing all in his great power to make his wife happy.
yuri however still fails to say a word to her mother. itās time for desserts!
āāshould we get your mother a new diamond or a pearl necklace? what do you think, yuricha?āā
the little girl only shrugs, letting her gaze fall onto her lap and silk napkin. thereās something heavy inside of her pocket. a necklace perhaps? a necklace indeed curios stranger, but she finds no reason to mention anything to her doting mother. whatās theirs is hers, whatās hers is only hers.
mother dearest has plenty of necklaces. why would she miss one out of the many? they donāt let her wear pearls. they say sheās too little. well, perhaps this will teach them a lesson or two.

itās hard for anyone to keep up with her really. expensive dresses, over-priced shoes, glimmering jewels and shiny cars ( weāll ignore the fact that she cannot drive, but she will eventually, and itās best to have a car ready at your disposal when the right time comes of course ).
her father and mother simply sit and stare, wishing and hoping itās just a phase. sheāll grow out of it, they say. she wonāt always be so superficial, they beg in their dreams.
but yuri canāt help herself. her dark eyes are drawn to things, things that glitter and that are marked under ridiculous price tags. she wants her friends to be envious.
wants them to feel deprived and unloved. she deserves everything. theyā¦ nothing.

and salty tears scorch her cheeks. yuri always gets what she wants. so why not him? why must he leave so soon? heās supposed to be hers. only hers. he promised. he whispered sweet delights into her ear. he cannot leave. not now. not ever.
he even finds a new girl.
that she cannot forgive. she wants him back. back in her arms and her greedy arms only. sheāll stop at nothing.
she starts sending them letters. messages. promises. sheāll hurt herself if he doesnāt come back. but she doesnāt.
instead,
she hurts him and his new girl.
pills and little potions, itās what what she uses. they never saw it coming.
but sadly, they make it out alive. the dose wasnāt strong enough. she shouldāve bought another pack of sleeping pills.

sheās eighteen and a half when her parents decide to ship her off to the best private university for women. they want her gone. wish to see her far away from home. sheās a disaster in the making. they need to set things right. she needs to start over.
āāiāll miss you so much, yuri,āāā her mother whimpers, Ā wrapping her arms tightly around yuri. she doesnāt say much. she doesnāt really care. she knows what her mother actually thinks.

Ā Ā Ā Ā growing up, minah was the problem kid. she was aware of this. her parents made it abundantly clear that she asked too many questions, never listened and couldnāt sit still for longer than fifteen seconds at a time; that she was greedy, ill-behaved and selfish. in her eyes, they were only half-wrong. she could admit that. everything she saw was hers and she had to have it. she couldnāt seem to force the same respect for her elders, for traditions, for their religion, that her twin sister could. minji was younger than minah by eighteen minutes and two seconds and she was easy. sweet. soft. she never asked to stay home on sunday mornings and she was always the first one to say sorry. she was graceful, cleaned her room without having to be told and never mouthed off at her elders.
Ā Ā Ā Ā when she was young, minah aspired to be like her sister, as embarrassing as it was. but frankly, being good didnāt come naturally to her.
minji was minahās best friend and worst enemy.
Ā Ā Ā Ā this dynamic continued until winter break of their senior year.
Ā Ā Ā Ā it started as a normal day, minah got into her momās car after a long dance practice and said hello. her mom didnāt answer, wouldnāt speak the entire way home. she wouldnāt even look at minah. minah tried for the life of her to figure out what the hell sheād done this time, tried to coax her mom into speaking to no avail. minah prepared herself for the worst as they pulled into the driveway. when she walked through the front door, her father was sitting at the dinner table with his head in his hands. she asked him what was wrong too. again, no response.
Ā Ā Ā Ā upstairs she found her sister in her bed, curled into a ball. she was sobbing and her face was swollen but there werenāt any tears. perhaps sheād used them all. minah tried for the third time to figure out what was going on and this time she got an answer.
Ā Ā Ā Ā their mother had walked in on minji. with a girl. they were both being sent to live with their grandparents in korea. minji apologized over and over as minah held her. she said, āminji, minji, minji. itās not your fault. itās okay, really.ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā minah had never subscribed to the moral agenda her parents pushed on them anyway. sheād never thought much about her own sexuality before that, but when she eventually did, it was clear that she was attracted to people regardless of their gender. she wished her and minji talked about this kind of stuff earlier. it was ironic. even now, with her sister facing disgrace from the entire family, minah was still envious of her. jealous of her for knowing who she was and for acting on it. even if the consequences were more than minah knew her parents were capable of.
Ā Ā Ā Ā and so it went, two weeks later the sisters were on a flight to korea, arriving just in time to take the necessary placement tests. they were both held back a year to catch up; apparently their education, and korean skills, were not up to par.
Ā Ā Ā Ā minah had expectations lower than the floor when they moved, she didnāt fit in in america so why would she in korea? but she then they arrived and her new home had some surprises in store for her apparently. for the first time in her life, she focused on school. she was too shy to act out in class and then found out she actually didnāt mind studying so bad. she made friends that didnāt know her sister and even got her first boyfriend by the end of the year.
Ā Ā Ā Ā minji, though, minji seemed miserable. their parents hardly spoke to her, suddenly minah was favorite. minah compared it to the twilight zone the one time they visited. she wondered if minji still spoke to that girl. if she missed her.
for the first time in her life, minah wasnāt jealous of minji.
Ā Ā Ā Ā when it came time to apply for universities, minji didnāt disappoint. she was headed back to america; accepted at her dream school, stanford. minah was really happy for her. well, as happy as she could be. she didnāt apply to any universities in america, but she didnāt get into seoul national or yonsei. she had to look at her other options and for the first time in two years she was jealous of minji again. she settled on an all-girls private school, cultum. the words burned coming out of her mouth when she thanked her mom for making her apply but they still came. she couldnāt quite wipe the sour look off her face as she said it though.
Ā Ā Ā Ā her mom glared at her, āminayah. you should be grateful about getting into such a prestigious school. what do you have to complain about? at your age iād already learned english and japanese.ā
and that was that.
Ā Ā Ā Ā saying goodbye to minji was bitter sweet. they hadnāt been apart for longer than three days their entire lives. but minah would be lying if she said she wasnāt looking forward to starting a new chapter. becoming her own person. if she didnāt know anyone, she didnāt have anyone to compare herself to, right?

I hope this doesn't sound mean. I'm just curious. Is there really only 7 members allowed? Or is that canon characters but you allow more? I was a little confused because only having 7 members sounds difficult with everyones different schedules. It seems like something better suited for discord. But I could be wrong!
ā ā” no worries, lovebug, youāre not coming off as mean at all! i completely understand where youāre coming from. yes, there are only seven members in this little group. we made this with the intention of wanting a small, intimate setting to let our muses flourish for the long run.Ā weāre a literate group so most of our threads are very word heavy, and would relatively be a little difficult to pull off on discord.Ā
so far, even though thereās only ever been 5-6 of us, iād say weāre doing very well! iād like to think weāve gotten relatively close/friendly with each other and can trust each other to know that its okay to go at our own pace rather than other larger groups. weāve also got fulfilling plots and really great threads going on, which is personally fulfilling and fun to me and our other members!Ā
if youāre looking for a fast pace environment then this is definitely not the place for it, weāre super lax on activity ( so long as you keep us in the loop ) and everyone is free to post when they can. the other lovely admins and i never made this with the intention of it being a large group, though if there ever be the demand for such, weād definitely go for it !!! in the end, weāre just having fun doing our own thing, and are definitely open to anyone who is looking to join! hope that answered your questions, but if you have any more iād be more than happy to answer them, petal!Ā
