ive been playing skyward sword a lot recently and i lowkey realized- isn't zelda a knight too???

cuz HEAR ME OUT U GUYS

- shes mentioned to be links childhood friend. He lived in the dorms, they obviously went to the school together, ITS CALLED THE KNIGHTS ACADEMY

- she lives on the second floor where ONLY the professors and the senior knights live. This could be explainable because "oh thats where her dad lives too" but then why dont they share a room? or st least have on next to each other? no, hers is aligned with karanes, another senior knight.

- she never actually wears her own clothes for the entirety of the game. She starts off with the rendtion of the goddesses clothes, for the ceremony, and she eventually changes into that white dress, and at the end is seen in the pink one again. NEITHER OF THESE OUTFITS ARE ACTUALLY HERS.

do you see where I'm going with this. I'm a firm believer that Zelda is actually a senior knight, that thats why she was chosen to act as the goddess in the ceremony (because she didn't need to graduate, she already had), that's why she was so focused on getting link to win and graduate too, so they could be in the same class/on the same level again.

tldr: more people should draw ss zelda in the yellow knights uniform. cuz i think itd be sick.

so icarus, even though the winds lift you high above the sky, even though your wings never melt and your body never fails, you cannot soar how you wish to. the universe will close in around you, the moutains will move to trip up your feet, your wings will beat against you in unsanctimonious rebellion.

icarus, you dreamer, you cannot wake up. you must fly, you must fail, and then you shall fall. you soar, icarus. the skies are yours to control. but if you will not fall, the skies will fall instead. the poet deemed it so.

do you think the citizens of hyrule knew when link died? do you think they knew the exact moment ganon came to power? do you think they were sitting in their homes, going about their everyday lives when the sky turned red for the first time? do you think they saw their champions run past them to the divine beasts, fear and malice and death following in their footsteps, only to enter and never leave again? do you think sirens were going off, normal citizens who've never raised a sword in their lives being forced to fight the physical manisfestations of evil? or do you think it was silent?

I don't know which would be sadder, a million battles being fought on all fronts for a hopeless cause, or the quiet acceptance that there was never any hope for them, at all.

ganons' story is pretty sad. Not the calamity, not demise or vaati or any of the other cursed evils. just ganon himself. because for as tragic as the "forever reincarnated to fight evil" tale is for link and zelda, i feel like people forget ganon's stuck in the cycle too. And he didn't even HAVE the choice of knowing- Demise, a literal god, cursed him out of anger towards link and zelda. ganon is Demise's play thing, just a puppet for him to exert control over, almost in the same way Hylia does for link. he's never had a choice in the prophesy, even less so than link. take calamity from botw, for example. that wasn't even ganon anymore, that was essentially the physical manisfestation of evil, of demise himself, in ganons form. ngl dude, i wish we could see a universe where he could've just been a regular gerudo, helping out link whenever needed and joking around with zelda. the three sides to the triforce, balanced again.

i keep seeing people compare Damian to a black cat and everytime something inside me twists a little more cuz that kid's not a black cat. He's a dog.

Damian is a hurt, abused, wary dog. He's been kept on a leash and encouraged to bite. He's been taught to take whatever abuse is sent his way and double it on his target. He's been raised in the metaphorical corner, scarred and yelled at and neglected.

And still, he clings. Damian's so loyal, so incredibly loyal to the point that if you give him the barest about of love, he returns it tenfold, in the only way he knows how- violence and veiled threats. He barks and bares his teeth and bites, but he does it so you get angry. Because if someone is angry at him, they yell at him, they get mad at him, they acknowledge him. Because being hated is better than being nothing.

Guys i was thinking about supergirl our goat and watching some of her fight scenes from various animated shows and i realized something- she was made to be the perfect mix of the big three: batman, superman, and wonder woman.

To start things off, she was given all the powers of superman (of course). Flight, heat vision, super strength, and the works. Shes one of the two last remaining TRYE kryptons, and if you were to ask me, shes more of a true krypton than Clark could ever be, just because of the fact she was raised on the ashes of their planet.

Now for Batman- her backstory. She watched all that she knew crumble beneath her, her family, her entire planet, literally her entire life disappear in a blink. She was given the opportunity to turn into a batman of krypton- a universal defender dedicated to protecting planets from dying out. Of course, where batman had the support of alfred (and a billion dollars), Kara had absolutely nothing, and that lack of support, lack of family is what shaped her to be the force she is today.

And lastly, Wonder Woman. She and Kara are inherently similar in their perseverance, ideas of justice, and their ideals for a perfect world. I'll be completely honest here, i don't know as much about wonder woman as I do the other two, but there's still a bunch of things that her and kara have in common. Their fighting styles, their raising, the way they were made to be warriors. Both were forced to be the champion, the last hope for their people. Kara was thought to be the last Krypton, and depending on the continuity, raised as a super soldier since childhood. Wonder woman was a god to her people and became their champion because of it.

Honestly, this set up to her character could make her the perfect foil to the big three (an absolute supergirl could probably solo the whole planet lets be real). HOWEVER, the reason she could never defeat the big 3, and the reason she could never be another superman, batman, or wonder woman is because through all of her childhood, through all of her fights, she was completely alone. She never had someone to go to, someone that could understand her plight as supposedly the last person of her entire race. She could never handle that pressure, that pain, so she spent the majority of her life at red sun planets, getting high on alien drugs and foreign alcohol. Supergirl never found a healthy outlet, never got help, never understood that she wasn't alone, and it ruined her. Clark and Bruce and Diana, while definitely having rough patches of their own, always had someone to return to, some kind of happy ending. Until Kara found Clark, she literally had nothing to live for.
