This work explores the idea of feeling like a stranger in two different countries, and the difficulty of finding one's place in between.

I presented this experience through the intermediary of an amorphous body rolling on a sheet of paper. The resulting sheets show a blend of the two complementary colors. This process aims to capture the influence of the two "destinations" on the body, reflecting the trace of movement and the uncertainty of this oscillating experience.

A station is a place of passage that represents a suspension between spaces, a zone parallel to the unfolding of the world around it. This work weaves together the space you come from and the places you want to reach. Surrounding the bus station with nets would emphasize the feeling of isolation that the place provokes, of distancing oneself from the rest of the world as if in a cocoon.

The circular patterns and geometric shapes contrast with the more organic, fluid cutouts. The limited complementary colors create a juxtaposition between magenta and green. These chromatic interactions produce visual vibrations and illusions. The addition and subtraction of motifs and cutouts creates a radiance, an infinitely looping circuit that mimics blood circulation, breathing and the cyclicality of life.

Vestiges of displacement. Addition. Subtraction.

This collage creates a relief cutout my making an opening in the overlapping sheets of paper. This forms a variation between addition and subtraction of volume. Like a temperature, this oscillation between two states records the changes in the environment, from acidic to basic. This circuit is a reflection of my own existence, with its cyclical landscape changes, the disturbances and turbulence that accompany the feeling of displacement.

As the door allows passage between the inside and outside, I wove the sheet and earth together, creating a symmetry that emphasizes this connection between the two spaces. This intervention forms a kind of organism that mirrors the intersection of the two spaces: an interior space designed as a shelter from the outside elements, which is dependent on the exterior for its function.

Memories of the circus arena

An interpretation of the fleeting, fragmented and blurred memories of my childhood. Drawing from my memories favors non-resemblance with the circus I visited almost twenty years ago. The building was closed shortly after for renovations, so this is the only memory I have of that place.

My intention with this painting was to present time as a dimension inseparable from espace. I merged time and space in this collage by weaving the passage of time and its effects on a space. The strips interact to successively obscure and highlight one sheet, then another, creating a kind of rhythm that weaves the image like a basket or carpet. The non-visible parts create an effect reminiscent of the limits of human memory. The space represents a generic living room that has been rearranged, with some of the furniture undergoing changes or repositioning. This is not an improvement, but an unavoidable modification. I wanted to look specifically at the evolution of space over time, and how its earlier or later versions influence our perception of time.

An exploration of the perception of incomplete information, and the desire to keep up when something eludes you. This overall view is incomplete due to the holes created, or obscured by the layering of the cuts on the sheet. As you move forward, you may be able to recover what you've missed, but there will be something else that makes for an incomplete view of the landscape. It's a series that could be continued ad infinitum. The arrangement of the papers in a space creates a form of habitat for the viewer to explore.
