So, my idea is that after the second voice discarded our vessel, Gaster decided to reuse the vessel to ensure the prophecy will go as intended. Therefore creating the roaring knight.

You see, it may lack in evidences and proofs, but I can't help but find the vessel to be a good candidate for the roaring knight identity. Why? I don't know- it existence is unnecessary yet it still gets created no matter what chapter you start from. Is that enough proof? Obviously not- we may need it to be separated from Kris like how everyone has been theorizing, but that doesn't mean it can't have a different purpose :P.
To me, the vessel felt kinda.. Alive..? Idk, the way the mysterious voice ( aka Gaster) spoke during the vessel creation sequence, and the part where he asks about how we feel about our creation and "don't worry, it won't hear" part sounded as if the vessel is a living being the some extent and the mysterious voice is covering its ears, instead of it just being a lifeless vessel. Maybe it's not aware enough to have its own wants and desires, but still aware and alive to some degree.
Also there's the fact that the knight and Kris kinda mirror each other, or copy each other. I know it's used to prove that the knight is Dess and Kris is copying her because she's cool and whatever, but it could also be proof that the vessel is the knight. Kris and the vessel are two sides of the same coin, both are meant to be used as a cage for the soul, both are humans (or look like a human in the vessel's case-) which means it's possible for both to be knights. Kris's dark world form is a knight, and if the vessel mirrors Kris, that mean it should be a knight too.
The fact that it can shapeshift, it looks distorted, it can fly, it's so strong it managed to drag undyne to the shelter (undyne who a chapter ago was lifting cars as if they're nothing btw), its laugh sounds like the amalgamates from undertale, and let's not forget it's technically the tallest lightener in the whole game, is just makes it hard to think the knight is a normal lightner, or Dess. Besides, its main weapon is a "black knife" and who else uses knives? Right, Kris.
Anyways I'm done yapping- nothing I wrote probably proves that the knight is the vessel and that's fine. I like the idea and I find it cool :D. Maybe the knight is Dess, maybe it's Asriel, heck it could even be Papyrus, who knows?.. Toby knows, but who else knows? Probably his team knows too-
anyways- I'll say this is my headcanon for now, I just wanted to share it before chapter 5 in case the knight's identity is revealed ( I doubt that) let's see how badly this will age ᐠ( ᐛ )ᐟ
