A bit late to the party, but we brought Zeraora cake for Pokemon GO Fest Global!

We started this cake on our weekly Sunday Pokemon baking livestream - but the AC was working so hard in the heat, we blew a fuse and I had to finish it the next day. 😅 Chocolate cake decorated in vanilla-coconut buttercream - I just love how it turned out! 🍰

What a journey it's been with this game! I was already a longtime Pokemon fan when it was first announced, so naturally I was a day 1 player - and I've still got my starter to prove it!

(Sorry I'll never evolve you, FireStarter!)

Funnily enough, the release of this game really coincided with beginning my Pokemon baking journey. These Pokemon candies from 2016 were my first foray outside of cupcakes and cakes, and it definitely helped kickstart my journey into baking unique Pokemon desserts! (Shoutout to the Fandom Foodies crew for that one!)

Thank you for all the memories, the inspiration, the hours and hours of exploration, and time spent with friends. Here's to 10 more years!

Promotional pics from the Japanese Grand Hyatt hotel collaboration! Their Tokyo hotel has opened a couple of Pokémon-themed suites to celebrate the 30th anniversary, and they'll be available until the end of August! There's some gift merch and Pokemon-themed food!

Ansha's Pokemon and Pride donuts we made on stream! 🍩

As part of our annual fundraiser for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, I cosplayed as Ansha from Pokemon Legends ZA, and donors challenged me to use different ingredients to make Pokemon donuts, which resulted in some really fun designs! That Pikachu holding a sour belt Pride flag then inspired me to make Ansha's rainbow Pokeball donuts as Pride flags as part of our Pokemon Pride desserts series during our next stream! 🏳️‍🌈

This entire concept was so much fun and a great cap to our fundraiser, but it had to come together in a pretty short time frame! Huge shout-out to my friend E for sewing Ansha's apron, and my wife for painting on the Pokeball donut design! I'd hoped to be more involved in the cosplay creation, but dang it was a busy month, so their help meant the world in making this happen - for the kids! 😁

Sharing my trans pride Zacian cake we made when one of our Twitch chatters suggested the design a couple years back, and I love it! Zacian's colour scheme is definitely reminiscent of the flag, and being genderless yet referred to as Zamazenta's "elder sister" is quite fitting! The cake is vanilla, with home-made strawberry simple syrup, whipped cream and strawberries.

Trans folks have always been an important part of the Pokemon community, and it's our responsibility as a community to cherish and stand with them. From Meowth's original VA, Maddie Blaustein, to the countless talented artists, thoughtful content creators, skilled competitors, and everyday fans, all deserve to feel safe and seen in Pokemon spaces.

At a time when trans rights are under attack, as trans people are being scapegoated and demonized, we must stand together and be vigilant in our battles, but also in our joy. 🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵

Ferroseed mint ice cream sandwiches!

I took a hiatus from livestreaming in April and haven't been the most active lately, but look what I made!

We're spending all of May fundraising for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and because of a running joke about how much I hate mint, we made these bad boys on my first stream back from hiatus. There was a steel-themed event in Pokemon Go, which made Ferroseed an especially fitting choice.

I used this recipe for the cookies, store-bought ice cream, and the method here for forming the ice cream disks. Even I have to admit this was pretty tasty, but I think any other ice cream would still do the trick.

It was my birthday over the weekend, so here's an Alcremie Pokemon card cake I actually made to celebrate my friend AlcremieSundae's birthday to mark the occasion!

There's actually quite a story to this cake...

Ever since Alcremie announced her Pokemon card decorating event at The Trainer Court, I knew I wanted to do the same. So for her birthday, our little online friend group coordinated a virtual Pokemon card decorating event - which I also did an IRL version of with friends, and I followed it up with a 100% edible decorated Pokemon card!

Our IRL event was a blast - my friends and I hit up a local card shop and bought some inexpensive cards and plastic toploader covers, and we had a blast painting, airbrushing, and stickering!

And of course, being a Pokemon baker I had to try making a cake version, and I'm in love with the results! 🍰 I baked an earl grey cake, and had this Alcremie promo card from Pokemon TCG Pocket printed on an edible icing sheet, which I laid atop lavender buttercream. I made the 3D Alcremie out of frosting, and all the little decorations - the Alcremie sweets, Pokeballs, Pokepuffs, and even the tiny Alcremie and Pika-waffle - are chocolate candy melts!

Alcremie is one of my all-time favourite Pokemon, and actually the reason AlcremieSundae and I first became friends, so this was really special! I've made a few Alcremie cakes at this point, and I think this one's actually my favourite. 🥹Just goes to show - sometimes you've gotta try something different, even if it's just a silly arts and crafts night!

I made normal and shiny Dratini and Deino cupcakes for dragon week in Pokemon Go!

These are simple chocolate cupcakes, and the Pokemon are made entirely from buttercream, plus a tiny sprinkle for the Dratini horns! You don’t need anything fancy to make ‘em - just ziplock baggies for piping, regular butter knives, and toothpicks for details. I love how they came out!

I used some sourdough bread that I cut up, peanut butter, cream cheese, and black sesame butter for mine, but you could use anything similar like sun butter and chocolate, etc. If only I could share this with my Cubone in Pokopia!

A bit late to post, but I turned a couple versions of the logo into a cookie cake! This is kind of a sequel to what I did for the 25th anniversary, including the props. I really love the graphic look of it, and the almond cooki paired with marscapone icing is delicious.
