Digital Brand Evaluation - Coca Cola
Coca-Cola is a brand that has been around for 126 years, and their logo has never changed. The company has always been successful at portraying its product as a classic, original soft drink. But what other companies are doing as far as promoting their trademark online is catching up to the more traditional brands. Coca-Cola does a fantastic job of advertising through commercials, celebrities (even Santa), scholarships and they have no trouble convincing consumers to drink their product. It’s Coca-Cola, it’s delicious. But what competitors are doing online, like Pepsi, as far as music, blogs and different social networking platforms could eventually catch up to ‘ole Coca-Cola. However, Coke is clearly the superior to any other soft drink and does a superb job on their website of getting others involved and being charitable. Take this contest on youtube for example: http://youtu.be/KEBJmZL8G1E
Like I said, Coca-Cola has sustained an antique, quality image for over a century. But the future of branding is through the Internet, and their digital presentation will be their new brand.
A feature story of mine about how Kimberlyn Duncan's recent accomplishments on the track have made an arguement for her to be included in the company of other LSU greats.
A sports report of mine takes a look at the cultural diversity of the LSU Men's Tennis team.
