Can't be mad

We aren't together, I can't tell you what to do. I can't tell you to be mine. I can't tell you how you make me laugh, or how safe I feel with you. We are nothing, and I have to learn to be ok with that. I want so much more but you are not right for me, but my heart is slowly breaking everyday over this.

I want to be wrapped up in you, I don't want this laissez-faire kind of banter. I can't own you, I can't claim you. I have to be fine with nothing, or the glimmer moments we share. We had a time, we had a moment, and this sadly isn't it. We shared hopes and dreams, but now we are tired.

There is no future for us, no happily ever after. We are not meant to be, we are friends, just passing on a path at the same time. This will be a fun journey, while it lasts but will be nothing more. I have to be fine with losing you, because I never had you. I will be a blip on your radar while you are the sun in my solar system. My heart is shadowed by my sad past and you may brighten my present but will never shine on my future.

This is what happens when friends become lovers and nothing more. I will fade into the background with a silent scream, and smile as you leave. What else can I do, but watch you leave like all the others before you.

I will never be special, to you, to anyone, I am just there person that people meet before meeting the person they are meant to be with it. I have come to terms with it, I am learning how to be alone again. It's scary, but I have never been scared of new things, not when I had you. Now I have to learn to deal with scary things, only own.
