I am DISGUSTED you added me to this cheap scam, as well as multiple other disability blogs. Disgusted, appalled and downright miffed. Everyone please report!
Indigenous people in the Arctic: *cause virtually no harm to the environment with their hunting practices / have been sustainably hunting animals forever / have to suffer the consequences of food deserts and sky-high prices no white vegan will ever have to deal with*
White vegans: you know what’s really bothering me…seal hunting…let’s stop that somehow…
According to the ministry of natural resources in Nunavut, the hunters in Nunavut could hunt a ringed seal for each person who lives in Canada every year and there would still be a net INCREASE in the seal population. Traditional Inuit methods of hunting help maintain the environment, because an overpopulation of seals would be a disaster for fish stocks in the territory.
Also, the shit about clubbing baby seals is a racist myth based on the assumption that the Inuit are “savage”, so we white folks could stop repeating that myth
Very true! In fact legislation has made it federally illegal for anything like that to occur since the 1980s!

Oh my <3
How many people can say they have played rugby with a Beluga whale? 🐳 🏉
I’m putting this back on my radar. I want this life
I believe this is Hvaldimir, who, get this, is believed to be a defected Russian spy. Literally.
He showed up in Norway in April 2019 wearing a camera harness labeled "equipment of St. Petersburg", has tried pulling ropes on boats, is obviously very familiar with people and prefers to hang with people. While we know Russia has marine mammal government programs (the US does too, but it's bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions), the extent of their programs is not declassified like the US Navy's are.
He likes to play fetch and be scratched around the blowhole.
He has taken a diver's knife out of the scabbard, played with underwater drones, stolen a go pro from a kayaker, and other mischief. Notably, it has been said by the Murmansk Marine Biology Institute, who may have been who trained Hvaldimir, that seals are better equipped to be polar military animals, as they have high professionalism that belugas lack.
Anyhow, enjoy Hvaldimir (the name combines the Norwegian word for whale, Hval, with Vladimir, as in Putin), the defected Russian spy whale.
seals are better equipped to be polar military animals, as they have high professionalism that belugas lack.
Seals are very professional! Professional at being cute 💕
For those who can't read the text it's quoting the article: "seals are better equipped to be polar military animals, as they have high professionalism that belugas lack".
Better see y'all reblogging this
This user wears their mask over their nose and sealed properly!
I wanted to reblog this with a quick comment: if you’re autistic like me (or have a really tiny nose that doesn’t support your mask - also like me) they sell these things online that help to fill your mask out a little more that are made of rubber.
They keep the fabric off your face + they help hold your mask up. They are marketed as “lipstick protectors,” but they were originally designed for autistic/ other sensory processing disorder folks.
Here’s one from Etsy
Thank you for this!
autistic self diagnosis is valid
a person: i’m autistic. i don’t have a professional diagnosis.
a neurotypical: you can’t! self diagnose! autism!!! onLy a dOctor can do that!!!
most doctors: don’t know what autism looks like in people other than nonverbal white cis boys
most doctors: recommend abusive therapies for autistic kids and teens
most doctors who specialize in diagnosing autism: refuse to evaluate adults
an autism evaluation for a minor teen who wants one: requires having supportive parents who understand that autism is not a tragedy and looks different for every autistic person, and that many autistic people can talk, have friends, do okay in school, and otherwise fake looking neurotypical
an autism evaluation for an adult: very expensive and often not covered by insurance in the U.S., also extremely difficult to get in France
an on-record autism diagnosis: can be used to deny you custody of children, to have your kids taken away, to forcibly institutionalize you
autism advocacy orgs that actually help autistic ppl like ASAN, AWN, AANE: Here are some resources for figuring out if you could be autistic. Professional diagnosis is a very personal decision and is not required for knowing that you’re one of us. We support you as an autistic person even if you don’t have a paper diagnosis.
a sincere autism self diagnosis: harms no one even if it’s incorrect, enables the person to feel part of a community of people with similar issues and learn more about autism, a gateway to learning about autism acceptance movements, often the first step toward self acceptance and self esteem
Okay, this post actually helped me a lot a while back. Idk if I’m ADHD or autistic, but either way, super helpful
This post is really helpful!
Anyone know of any of those self diagnosis resources they talked about-?
here you go (the coding of the original post got weird, I’m the op of the long chat post section, not actingnt):
Autism is a neurological variation that occurs in about one percent of the population and is classified as a developmental disability. Altho
AANE adopted the term Asperger profile to describe a range of neurological differences characteristic of over one percent of people in the U

Oh, this is definitely helpful! Thank you sincerely!
I must speak on this incredible YouTube content creator, who I have been following for some time: iilluminaughtii.
Her in depth analysis on different ethical subjects is not only factual, but treated with the upmost respect. She has brought up autism on her channel multiple times in multiple videos, but today I saw she posted a video on autistic girls. I almost cried, I was so happy!
https://youtu.be/qx5qt2u0UZU
Please give this a watch if you're interested in a neurotypical ally giving a thoughtful, well done analysis into a problem we face as autistic women.
Also, here are other videos on autism she posted! They're all really good and well researched:

Someone showed me this and oh, my heart! ❤
My auditory processing disorder leads to some interesting moments. Take for example earlier today; my roommate came in from a smoke and saw that her cat had stolen her chair, for the third time, while she was outside.
what she said: damn cat why are you in my seat?
what I heard: damn cat I should’ve gotten a receipt
Oh dear, I can relate!
What should I expect from an Autism text? :)
When I underwent mine they tested my comprehension, asked me questions about my social life and gave me a few activities to do. I'm not going to really go into details because it could be very different for you, but just do and answer what they give you.
Hey, i have autism and sometime i would talk to myself and repeat stuff i heard from shows. would that counted as echolalia?
I think it may be? Can anyone else confirm this?
I want to take the time out of my very busy schedule to tell you all that black lives matter.
Black Lives Matter. Black Autistic Lives Matter.
Disabled people of color are more likely to be victims of police brutality and systemic/institutional racism than someone like me who is white and disabled.
Please continue to support this movement however you can! I stand with #BLM!

At first I never understood what he meant when we went into the unit. Truth be told I was miffed and upset he said I didn't exist. Then boom, 1 year later Covid19 happens. Classes fot switched online. All classes for schools got switched. Suddenly those of us who need to do school online because of disabilities can do it and it's easily integrated. Holes in how money is distributed was shown globally to affect us. Those of us who are disabled with immunocompromising issues are reliant on other's understanding, mercy and forethought to survive.
Now I'm thinking he had a point.
This is an incredibly unique perspective! Thank you for sharing!
It’s pupping season for our local harbor seals, and we’ve got at a bunch hanging out at Hopkins Beach next door to the Aquarium at the moment! Check out the bb sea doggos!
Oh goodness! My heart <3
I’m autistic and writing a children’s book. I want the main character to be a female autistic. I wanted to know if you had anything you would like to see or hate to see in such a book. The book will be for young children (2-7).
Well, description wise, try to make it’s color focal point not pink and full of princesses/feminine-associated items. I find it’s somewhat exclusive as I was the little girl who liked blue and “masculine” things. Try to strike a balance between the two! If it’s for ages 2-7, keep the language simple and concise. No huge words! Keep the story simple as well (but not overly simple). For the autistic girl, do try to demonstrate that she enjoys doing “normal” activities like other girls, but needs more lenience and breaks in play. If she’s in school, try to show her working partially by herself instead of only with an aid’s help. Those are my pieces of advice!
Edit - forgot to say "not" in "try to not make the focal point pink"
why are seals so relatable
Oh goodness! 💕
