My biologically immortal!Grace au is keeping me up at night so here it is:

Rocky didnt mean to turn him into the perfect self-sustaining organism. He just wanted Grace to live at least as long as any Eridian would. According to his (Adrians) research the quality and speed of human aging was based on many circumstances, the main variable being their shoddy genetics and their many flaws.

So he tells the Eridian scientists to fix Graces ineffecient human genes!

But asking the Eridian scientists to do anything is like confronting an autisitic genie

Needless to say they do a lot more than 'fix' his genes! They alter his frickin DNA!

A complete genomic overwrite that prevents natural aging, granting him an indefinitely extended natural life through advanced cellular regeneration and(!) the integration of a self-sustaining organic network containing a synthetic microscopic organelle called the Aternoplast, derived from Astrophage, that provides all his metabolic energy through ambient thermal absorption. (Heat = energy! Amaze amaze amaze!)

It wasnt even very hard for them once they got all the sample they needed. The holes in their own knowledge were filled perfectly by the Hail Mary's database and the rest was just math and harder more sciencey math.

Grace doesn't know how to feel about living forever ("not forever, only till your brain go explode or the universe collapse." Not very comforting, Rocky.) But he has a long time to get over it.

After nearly starving to death there is something really comforting about never feeling hungry again.

What if after Grace saved Rocky and decided he's going back to Erid with him Rocky was all "Well I'm sure Grace is going to put himself back into a coma for the four year journey like he did on the way here and being alone again won't emotionally destroy me to my breaking point it's fine everything is fine"

But then Grace goes "are you kidding as if I'd pass up four years of hanging out with my best friend it's going to be one giant non-stop movie night sleepover fun time bump my fist good buddy"

And then Rocky explodes from happiness the end

Like what do you mean of course they have the most gorgeous voice ever which to sound-based Eridians is basically the equivalent of why-the-fuck-arent-you-a-supermodel.

Of course Rocky forgot to mention to Grace their size difference and that Rocky is by Eridian standards a tiny little twink and Adrian is a giant also so when Grace meets them he's looking UP because they're less of a rock and more of a boulder.
