This month I've been writing a story (I may share it in the future if I'm happy with how it's turning out, right now I'm working on it for myself) with one of my favourite niche characters from TS2 - Orion Tricou (Teens), or as I call him, my gloomy little aroace icon.
I used to love him so much about 10 years ago when he was a supporting character in one of my stories where he was a burned out Downtown tourist guide with a vulnerable side when it came to his family, and my love for him suddenly came back with a bang recently when I realised I always saw him as aroace deep down and he showed clear signs of it in that old story, but in the past I struggled to write non-romance stories and felt like everyone needs to be paired up (and then plot twist, I grew up and realised I've always been ace-spec and I love a good romantic story but when it has chemistry and substance, not just for the sake of it), so I tried to ship him with other characters and unsurprisingly never feeling it. But now in his current form I love him more than ever and he's very relatable. It's crazy how to this day I haven't really had a major story that doesn't center around romance but it's so refreshing to have one.
In the story he starts out living in Glimmerbrook, adopted by the sages and bearing the name Orion Silversweater (I incorporated some lore from Glimmerbrook and Ravenwood, I actually got inspired for the story once I learned there are some references to the Tricous in Ravenwood and my brainrot came back in full force). Eventually he finds out about his origins and that he's a powerful mage, and has to uncover his family history together with his siblings and together find a way to bring their long-deceased family back to life.
Also I love how I decorated his house! It fits his personality so well.
I also am planning to do a spin-off about the main Tricou family's past because I have some wild ideas about them but I haven't set up the save yet so I'll talk about it more next time.
