The Society

Harrison Bergeron really struck a nerve in me. How can people live in society where they can’t be their true self? People who are pretty have to where an ugly mask, people who are athletic have to wear chains, and people who are intelligent have to where headphones. That must be very annoying having the society tell you how you should act. Harrison Bergeron society is considered equal, but how can they say that when the people who are smarter, prettier, and athletic are treated like slums. We all want to fit in and be a part of something great, but would you be a part of a society, where they tell you how you should act, talk, and dress. I wouldn’t; no one should ever be told that they can’t be themselves
