God I was never the one to fall for such cliches but I guess superbat has finally turned me into cringe.
Can't believe I'm asking about how'd you feel about bully Clark x helpless fragile victim Bruce fic? Not in the sense that Clark is a massive murderer but in the sense of teenage boys being asshole to their crush(I'm gonna weep I don't know why the fuck am i taking a liking to this stupid fucking trope.
A no power Au?? And fill it with the most overused cliche nonsensical trope of Clark being the popular jock and Bruce being the "ugly" nerd+ the constant bullying and harassment, until Clark crosses a line and fucks up everything. And Bruce hates, hates him. Like actual real hate, that doesn't fold with just a single sorry. And the fucking slow burn shit.
I'm not sure what my goal is here, but I'm plagued by the thoughts of the clichest cringiest superbat non power Au and I am losing it.
Look, sometimes we all need a cliche story in our lives. They're cliche for a reason, they always work and appeal to a lot of people! No judgment from me!
Bonus points if Clark is the only one allowed to bully Bruce. The moment one of his buddies tries it, Clark gets jealous and weirdly protective, and he doesn't understand why.
Double bonus points? Clark and his buddies make a bet that he can seduce Bruce. So Clark starts to act nice and charming, and Bruce refuses to fall for it at first, but he eventually gives in.
And oh no, Clark is starting to fall for real, but the truth is out and Bruce is heartbroken, and now Clark needs to make it up to him to get him back, proving the bet was real, but so were his feelings for Bruce.
And after they eventually get back together, Clark and Bruce end up as king and queen of the prom.
A small contribution to the cause
In my headcanon, Bruce is usually the gift giver and not the gift receiver in his relationships. So after he and Clark start dating, and Clark starts showering him with presents/flowers, Bruce gets really flustered by the affection.
I feel like a bare chested hug from Clark would fix me, but I guess I'll never know… *cries in the corner*
This vision came to me while writing my Superbat fic. Tho the tramp stamp unfortunately didn't fit into the story, I still felt like the vision should exist in this world in one form or another.
The G-string did stay, thankfully.
Read "The sky is always starry, Even if you don't see it" by leo_na on Ao3 and felt the urge to draw this scene.
It a follow up to their other story "Your eyes aren't rivers there to weep, But a place for crows to rest their feet" which is my personal favorite <3
Drawing people/faces is not my strong suit, so even after hours of trying it still doesn't feel like I didn't them justice. They're both so beautiful </3
