Some Manga recommendations for a good vibe

I’d like to share some of my favorite “Feel good” manga. Stuff that made me happy, & hopefully does the same for you.

1) Kotonoba Drive

-Do you like light hearted adventures with a hint of mysticism? This manga might be the thing you’re looking for. It follows an mc who sometimes gets spirited away, but only for 5 minutes. If you like Studio Ghibli’s “Spirited away” you might enjoy this too. I really enjoy how free she is.

2) Shinya Shokudō -(Midnight restaurant)

- It’s just as it’s name suggest. it’s a manga about a midnight restaurant. You get to see a variety of odd-ball customers coming in to eat. It may sound simple (& it is) but the personalities that come in to eat are enjoyable to watch. Each patron has their own story. All in all, a very warm hearted manga.

3) Natsume Yuujinchou

- You might have heard about this one. I still remember the 1st time I watched the Anime of it. The manga is even better imo. It follows an mc called Takashi Natsume, & a “Not quite a cat” Nyanko-sense as they set off to return the names of all the spirits that Natsume’s grandmother captured in her “Book of friends”.  The Yokai (Spirits) range from gentle ‘n sometimes quirky beings, to beasts that throw the mc into danger. It’s ultimately a calming mystery, & a treat to read.

4) Mushi-shi

- It’s about a man called “Ginko” who dedicates himself to protect people from spirits called “Mushi”. I really love this manga, & even more so the Anime/ova adaptations. You get a sense that Ginko’s efforts are just a drop in the ocean when compared to the Mushi. Yet his effort, however slow it may be, shows results when helping the many ppl effected by the spirits.

i’ve had really intense conversations w/other millennials about how Spongebob Squarepants was literally one of the smartest shows on television bc it used its absurdist narrative to explain adult concepts to children while also pointing out how Dumb and Pointless adult society is so how you should just have fun with your friends and do what you like

when I was growing up every single fucking adult I spoke to HATED spongebob squarepants. there were entire articles written about how spongebob squarepants killed brain cells and this fuFkcng yellow sponge was teaching kids to be Gay and looking back at the Spongebob Scare is still the funniest shit ever because they were literally SO mad that every single kid loved this fucking happy yellow sponge and his sea critter friends, they never even noticed the dirty jokes or commentary on capitalism they were just mad because they thought Spongebob Squarepants was turning us Gay and also killing us slowly
