I’m so sorry HUNGRY!
Who’s the real you? The person who did something awful, or the one who’s horrified by the awful thing you did? Is one part of you allowed to forgive the other?
Rebecca Stead, Goodbye Stranger
“i have always wanted to come to earth – i just didn’t think that if i ever did, it’d be in the past. you guys are p r e t t y behind in technological advancements, huh?? evidently a lot can change in sixty years.”
“you’re n-not from earth? and it’s behind o-on technology? i t-thought the new iphone w-was pretty neat. there are m-more emojis! b-but if you’re from the future -- what’s it like? are t-there aliens?”
“ Are you one of them? Answer me or I swear I’ll shoot.”
“p-put the gun down, please. i’m not -- i don’t even know WHAT you t-think i am but i was just trying to help. ”
asami could only smile at how the other girl was rambling away. “stonefield, england.. alright. got it.” she gave it a sharp nod, giggling hoarsely afterwards. “thank you very much, though. you’ve been a great help to me, i appreciate it.”
“it’s fine! we all n-need a little help, even with the little things.” her cheeks felt warm from embarrassment, but seeing as how the girl seemed to not care about her word vomit, she figured it was okay. “i’m g-guessing you just popped up too, huh?”
The redhead wasn’t quite aware which house he had woken up in, all he knew was that he couldn’t find his medication. However, he was too hungry and hungover to care so he slithered downstairs to the kitchen with a pounding headache. Not even for a second did he question how he had ended up in that particular house, since he couldn’t remember a single bit from the previous night. While he was making himself some breakfast, he wasn’t surprised by the fact that someone else was there. After all, dozens of people were living in his house. “You want some breakfast?” He asked politely, even though he wasn’t in the best of moods, having decided that he needed to make some friends around here.
hannah had been keeping to herself. apart from her sister, there weren’t many people she would willingly speak to. it was just easier to avoid the general population and clam up. sleep was still an anomaly to her so she had to preoccupy herself in the hours that her body refused to rest; and she had found some amusement in setting herself up in the kitchen. most of the time, people ignored her. that wasn’t the instance for today. “sure!” soft lips quirk into a grin as she looks up from her spot, still unsure on how to act around others. she settles for going with what feels natural and tries her best to be polite. “as long is it doesn’t have meat in it -- i’ll b-be fine. i’m hannah, by the way. would you like some help?”
@cursekilled.
guilty eyes burn holes into the girl before her. she shouldn’t be here. neither of them should. hannah should have been considered dead the moment the spirit took hold and her body was no longer own. but she has fragments of her wrong doings; certain faces sticking out in her haze heavy mind. her sister was the only thing that made sense, but hannah knew what she had done, the lengths she had gone for some botched attempt at survival. “b-beth?” it’s weak. just like her. but the sound of her own voice feels wrong, and she can’t even force herself to look her sister in the eye because SHE’S the reason they fell. it’s her fault. everything was always her fault. “i’m s-so -- i’m sorry, beth. i’m SO sorry.”
“huh. alright, okay..” asami puffed out, both hands now on each side of her hips. a nod was visible here and there as the previously proud smile quickly faded from her features. “let’s not pretend, i have not a single clue where i am.”
“don’t worry! n-neither did i. but the p-people are nice, and they helped me so they can help you. some of them are a little... odd. but you get assigned a house and from w-what i’ve gathered, a lot of other people live in them. so it’s a little messy b-but --” hannah has to cut herself, she’s rambling. that’s bad. “but this is called stonefield. it’s in england. welcome!”

“grande nonfat caramel macchiato, at your service.” a hint of sarcasm, yet peppiness hidden beneath his tone, arm reaching out with a cup in hand. “for the record, this could get me FIRED but I did tell the boss that you were homeless and it was charity work. or, you know, a very good cause.” twinge of a smile appearing at the words, hoping the other knew that he was kidding, per usual.
“well, i am sort of homeless. the house i was assigned doesn’t seem right. so, t-thank you. it sounds l-lovely.” it’s certainly a lot sweeter than what she was used to -- but just about anything was, given her circumstances PRIOR to the impossible happening and her appearing as human as ever. still, she’s grateful, and offers a small smile before tasting it. yep. definitely too sweet. but it’s better than craving FLESH, so hannah’s already taking another sip. “this is really good. if your boss f-fires you -- they would be losing a great barista.”
My little sister is dead. The fall killed her… I watched the color drain from her face. My leg is broken. I’m all alone, stuck here with Beth’s body. Someone will come soon.
