Recently found out that someone I knew growing up now works as a financial engineer for a very large mortgage company, and I can’t help but feel deeply sad. This kid was so brilliant that he couldn’t even take the advanced math classes, they had to put him in a room all by himself on a special curriculum because he was years beyond everyone else in that area. He was such a sweet boy. And all of that just to end up screwing people over for a living for no reason. I really hate capitalism
