I remember as a kid the nearby small town had a "computer expert" who had a full storefront and office. If someone bricked their computer or it loaded with viruses he'd factory reset it for them and try to get it working again. He'd also buy, refurbish, rest, and resell old computers. But the main thing he advertised was if people brought him a computer and a list of programs they wanted installed on it he'd get them all set up. Flat rate of like 20 bucks.
Didn't realize until I was older and like, looking back on some of the tech stuff my mom needed help with and knew more about how software is priced that he was pirating it. Guy had a whole business set up where people who didn't know how computers worked would pay him 20 bucks to install Microsoft Office on their laptop because it was cheaper than buying it in the store and they didn't want to be bothered with figuring out how to install programs even if they could afford them normally. Like that guy was practically printing money well into the early 2000s. Very good hustle. Only small business owner I respect.
come give me a pawjob my address is 308 negra arroyo lane albuquerque NM
Do Not. Give my husband puppy pawjob
i posted about my omegaverse pill bottles and how they help me take my bipolar meds more regularly and it became a hit tweet im wheezing
OP turned off reblogs but I need this on my blog. Sorry you had to learn about bean removal like this.
In my experience there are three (3) main types of sewing machine
The Horse: it cost at bare minimum 2,000$ and it panics the moment a single speck of dust gets on one of its 1902384 available sensors. it needs a software update. no, another software update. no, please, just one more software patch update please it needs its carrot
The Back In My Day: it's minimum 40+ years old. maybe your mom had it or your grandma had it or you got it from an elderly swamp witch off of facebook. it doesn't know what a computer screen is. it will Stomp Through Fabric and it Will Not Stop.
The School Machine: there is no equivalent to the school machine. whatever stupid thing you could possibly conceive of doing to a machine has already been done, plus other stuff you could never conceive of. you open it up and are shocked it hasn't caused a fire. somehow, there is a piece of old lunch meat inside it.
For those wondering, you have to pick out a horses feet. You use a hoof pick, and kinda dig out the gunk that gets stuck up there, especially with a shoe on.
The 'bean' mentioned in the screenshot does not have to do with horses feet, it has to do with their penis. More info in replies.
swifties always going on the "you just hate women" defense like first of all Taylor Swift is not a woman she's an unskippable ad
actually yes this needs to be kept as part of this conversation
it's normal and actually good for your health to see yourself in the most guilt ridden character you've ever seen in your life
(imagining the guilt ridden character I relate to being comforted or feeling miserable) it's good for them.this says nothing about me
I wish all the pee came out in one go like a shotgun blast
you just dont get this on other websites
he is genuinely a problem
actually he was so happy about the med routine! he would run to the scale in the morning, and sit on it purring, because he knew that after medicine came treats!
when the months of medications were finally finished and tests showed him cured of FIP, he actually got really frustrated with me bc he thought I was forgetting. he’d just sit on his weighing scale and stare at me balefully.
If your character has a chronic illness or chronic pain please understand that they have already made peace with a version of their life that other people would find unbearable. They are not constantly in crisis. They have adapted. They have systems. They know their body in a way healthy people never have to. They are also exhausted in a way that doesn't show and angry sometimes in a way they feel they're not allowed to be. Write that competence and that exhaustion together. Both are true at the same time.
have at you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Am walking through Manhattan, there's a woman who can't be more than 25 in a big fur coat, walking with a cane, angrily saying into her headpiece "I want them them destroyed," I feel like an extra in a movie
before trump and the creation of ANTIFA as a boogeyman, the fbi listed animal liberation and 'eco-terrorism' as the number 1 domestic terror threat.
Your dialogue is stiff because everyone is being too honest
Great dialogue can come from radical emotional honesty. But in most real conversations, people
dodge questions
answer indirectly
lie (badly)
change the subject
crack jokes to avoid serious answers
lie (convincingly)
say half of what they mean
tell the truth but get so anxious/angry/defensive others now think they're lying
If your dialogue feels unnatural, it might be because everyone is saying exactly what they think, or articulating their thoughts too well. Try letting characters hide things instead.
Subtext is where tension lives.
one of my worst writing sins is abusing my power to create compound words. i cannot write the sentence "The sun shone as bright as honey that afternoon." no. that's boring. "The sun was honey-bright that afternoon" however? yes. that sentence is dope as fuck. i do not care if "honey-bright" is a word in the english dictionary. i do not care if the sentence is grammatically correct. i will not change. i will not correct my erred ways. the laws of the english language are mine.
Not a sin at all!
This is what's called a poetic epithet, and it happens all the time in writing. Consider, for example, Homer and his wine-dark sea, or Shakespeare and his death-mark'd love.
If you were then to start using them instead of the word they're describing, you'd be making a kenning. For example, if instead of describing the sun as honey-bright, you said "the honey-drop in the sky". Kennings are best known from Norse writings, like "the path of serpents" for gold, or "Grímnir's lip-streams" for poetry itself.
So you're not sinning, you're participating in an ancient literary tradition!
