I find myself extremely skeptical about most alleged fandom references in my little pony. I really think the majority of 'references' to fan works or memes outside of a select few episodes are extreme stretches, especially the ones that reference specific fanfic. However. The official TCG card for Cloud Kicker still makes me squint suspiciously after all these years.
The history of official GURPS crossovers fascinates me because- okay, sure. It's for a very niche community, its going to collaborate with some niche properties, this isn't Fortnite. It doesn't surprise me much that there were official Star Trek, Discworld, and Hellboy supplements. The Prisoner is a bit of a stretch, but I dig it, and Girl Genius is one of the most beloved webcomics ever made, created by a guy who's name already had pull in the sci-fi community. But like, 1632? Myth, the Bungie PC game Myth? Casey and Andy, the gag a day webcomic Weir made before he wrote The Martian and Project Hail Mary?? You want to play in the world of Casey and Andy?? Is that in high demand??
Lest we forget about the time Interplay tried to license GURPS for a little post apocolypse title called Fallout (1998), but were refused.
I do often wonder about the timeline where they said yes.
[hiding my old man bite from the rest of the group] o-of course I'm fine! let's just keep going. the survivor's camp is right ahead and [spots someone I know] heh. I guess they let ANYONE in here!
#dead serious this is knd operation zero

ngl, the femcel terfy lady falling in love with a "femboy" comic Shen posted is a massive fucking L
like, this is literally just a t*rf? why are we making a cutesy romance comic about a transmisogynistic bigot?
also, just like, straight up misogyny, too? one of the first panels in the comic is this woman being sexually harassed by men but SHE'S the evil "gender wars" bitch because she dares to not like men due to how they treat her. Bruh.
"shen! get the fuck off reddit!!! sheeeeeeen!"

Okay, but like, 'I want to pretend to be a Ghostbuster' is like, a thing. Children do that. Nobody has ever said 'I want to pretend to be in the village from The Prisoner'

Coming back to this post, I just remembered JDR herself quoted a very similar monologue in a discussion with me one time. Was this the one?
it was not (it would have been earlier and it was definitely the word "love", not "joy", as a more exact parallel of "hate") but it's strangely validating to see that riffing on this monologue is some kind of carcinization point for FiOposting
Going through shantae withdrawal. Been so long since I've played a shantae game I'm just shriveling up
tiddy screams = less stress
