Kneeling in the dirt, Konoe stares into the clear water in front of him. Being on his own was starting to get to him. It wasn’t that long ago that he’d stayed in the village of Kira. Granted it was only for a short while but he missed the company that Asato had provided. The small Ribika sighed and sat back to lean against a tree. If he knew the way he would go to Ransen and see Tokino- maybe- maybe if it wasn’t too much he could stay with him.
Tail swishing in irritation he shook his head clear of these thoughts. It would do no good to keep thinking like this. He hadn’t noticed someone approaching him, he’d been so deep in thought.
((Sorry for taking so long))
Approaching him, but paying no mind, was a dark skinned Ribika, who looked all too much like Asato; although he was a bit shorter.
The cat stopped by the edge of the pond and sat down, removing his shoes, and soaking his feet in the water. It’s been days since last got a chance to relax, the water felt like heaven on his tired feet.
"Not much farther…" he murmured under his breath, looking to the sky
Looking up, Konoe practically jumped out of his skin. Where had he come from?! The last Konoe knew there hadn’t been a Ribika around here in a long time.
"Ah- hello..?" He really didn’t know what to say, he was pretty weary of strangers and hadn’t exactly expected this.
"Hm?" He looked over, ears pricking up. He gave a small wave "Sorry for startling you.. I take it you didn’t expect to see anyone?" A small smile crossed his face.
"No…but it’s okay." He said, giving him a smile in greeting. "I’m Konoe."
Swishing his black tail in a more relaxed manner, he calmed down a bit. It was unusual to run into another black cat. Most lived in Kira because of the stigma that surrounded them.
"…Felis.. I’m Felis," he slowly nodded. Personally, Felis didn’t mind the bad reputation black cats seemed to get, mostly choosing to ignore it; the opinion of people didn’t matter when building relationship was so difficult for someone of Felis’ life style. "So.. Konoe is it? What are you doing out here, traveling?"
He reclined back, using his arms at support, his tail swished back and forth, curiously.
"You could say that." Tucking his feet underneath himself he got more comfortable. Swishing his tail around to rest across his lap he proceeded to try and get some of the leaves and brush that had gotten stuck on it out. "I wander around, it’s not so bad I guess."
"Nice to meet you then…" He nods, before facing out to the pond again, "You could call me a courier… It’s my job to travel and deliver letters or packages across villages. It means I can’t live a normal, safe life, but the pay is good…"
"That’s unfortunate.." Konoe sympathized. "Are you working a job now? I didn’t think a delivery service would come all the way out here.." It was a pretty empty place.
"I don’t mind it…" He smiled slightly "You get use to it… I’m not working a job now though." He looked over, "I’m taking a few days off to visit a old friend.
((sorry for the long delay))
"It must be nice to have a break right?" Konoe didn't really work, he mostly fended for himself and kept away from others. "A friend?" that reminded him, he should go see Tokino soon.
