if there's one thing i make no secret on my social media accounts, i'm a die-hard fan of The Little Trashmaid. it's a no-dialogue cautionary tale about pollution and a bittersweet slice-of-life. so when i heard an animated pilot fundraising campaign was about to go live, i couldn't say no. heck i even donated to it.

if you want to donate to the pilot campaign, or if you're not in a financially-stable state but wanna share the living daylights out of this, go nuts. they even opened a KO-FI, the news is that big.

other than that... hope you like the illustration i did for the campaign.

Okay yeah the story of Splatoon Raiders is kinda scummy when you read into it but I don't think it's wholly colonialism, but rather just good old piracy on Deep Cut's part

And Deep Cut is stealing treasure from the Salmonids but I wouldn't say it's a "resource", not to mention it's only these 4 bozos doing it and not a whole nation or whatever. They're not forcing anything onto the Salmonids either(besides maybe an early grave-) again they're just stealing the shiny shit for money

So yeah I'm pretty sure doing 1 out of the 4 things doesn't make it colonialism. Still super sucky but I think I've made my point

Yeah and I think where it really succeeds vs. modern anime wifey fantasy shit is that Jucika really is just a character super comfortable with being sexual, likes looking sexy and even has no shame in using it to get her way:

….And the comic takes her side in both cases, whereas I’ve seen countless modern narratives in which this same character would have only been framed as like a Slutty ™ Bitch ™ or full blown villain.

at the time i made this comic, i was feeling a little worn-down and empty. and because my TRASHMAID obsession dwindled enough to make room for another comic called "Poppy: The Girl Who Slept-In 100 Years," i decided to draw poppy in the presence of the end. but even then she finds some way to appreciate it.

i gotta start drawing her more, especially since i owe her after taking away the redness in her cheeks.

i don't know if the The Little Trashmaid fandom here is active at all but i still need to ask the fandom at large because this has been bugging me for over a year. to the RxS shippers: what is it about Ricky x Spencer that's kept you wanting further development? what does it have that other ships don't? why do you keep commenting about it on the episodes, even ones that have zip to do with either of them? assuming you've commented at all?
