Best thing that has ever happened to you?
█║♚ ONE EYED KING. kaneki looked up from his book, not really knowing what else to do in response to that question rather than blush and look down, fumbling with his hands as he tried to figure out what to say about this. he was sure that out of his different memories there were various things to choose from, various things to name as his best thing to happen to him. he didn’t know if he could name it on the spot, though. it would be too much for him to suddenly name something and have it stick as what people remember him by.
he looked back down at his book, reading some of the words that flittered across pages way too intimate for him to focus on right now. he remembered how he met itachi, but even then, focusing on a romantic interest as the best thing that ever happened to you kind of was... weird. it made kaneki feel weird, at least. he wasn’t going to claim it was itachi alone, because that simply wasn’t true. he was an important person, and very probably a huge part of it, but not the entirety of it.
so when he thought of the entirety of bellevue, of all that he had made here, away from the people who had hurt him the most, he smiled. a genuine smile painting lips that open so widely to see how someone would react. it wasn’t often he smiled like this, because he didn’t like showing off his pearly whites. he looked up, laced his hands, and stilled his shaking leg.
‘ meeting everyone in bellevue, and getting to know everyone, and even becoming someone important to the community. finding some place i belong, and being able to stick to that. thats the best thing to ever happen to me in my life thus far. ‘
█║♚ ONE EYED KING. a small look down at his book again, and he found himself wondering why he was even being asked all of these questions. it’s not like he was someone important to bellevue in general, so why was he being focused on as if he held all the answers to lifes questions? he stood up, closing his book and putting it back on the shelf, before sitting down and crossing his legs in front of the other person who seemed to be interested in him.
ever....dated someone. he couldn’t say he didn’t ever date anyone, but they were all small flings... some of them were simply toxic relationships on both sides, because kaneki had grown up without knowing how to really love, so he got too hardcore. he had stopped thinking of relationships a long time ago, and he looked up at the person, his eyes hard with emotion.
‘ i.....have dated some people. that’s all i’ll say. ‘
Watch the movie or read the book?
█║♚ ONE EYED KING. kaneki scoffed where he was standing. that was obvious enough, wasn’t it? but if it wasn’t he supposed he would have to give a clear and concise answer about whether or not he read the book or watched the movie. his answer was different for each franchise, though, so it would be rather lengthy on his part, really. he would have to remember to apologize for that later on.
‘ okay, so, it really depends on what franchise it is. percy jackson was horrible, really, for reasons that would take an essay. the book was good, but the movie was horrible. harry potter was a good book series, if you don’t count the cursed child, and the movies did the best they could to include all that they could with the budget they were given. i didn’t quite like either the hunger games books or movie, and the same goes for the divergent series, but i always read the book first, so i guess thats my answer. read the book. ‘
