when i was a kid i only had lasting friendships with the kids who wanted to be animals with me; when i was a teen i only had lasting friendships with the teens who wanted to make anime crossover OCs with me; my first partner was met via theater and all of my subsequent partners were met first via world of warcraft roleplay. apparently the only way to bond with me is through playing pretend.
