💕  Does your muse believe in true love? Do they believe in love at all?

Carmen grew up believing that real love existed. Seeing the horrific dynamic between her parents was discouraging enough and she got a really shitty deal with the devil being married for ten years against her will and anything she believed in. After her divorce from her first husband, she didn’t think she would ever be ready to let herself fall in love again. She got to kiss a couple of frogs 😉  within the few years she was a single woman; completely thirty, flirty and thriving. And cue, @president-scordato. Carmen’s faith in real love was restored realizing he was the yin to her yang and she felt at peace with him.

🌟  Is your muse comfortable in their identity? Are they insecure or confident?

Carmen had no choice but to be comfortable and confident in herself. Her father Diego mercilessly ripped her appearance apart growing up, and continues to do so to this day. But, his ‘tough love’ has made her who she is and she believes happy girls are the prettiest. Her confidence is a mere product of the happy life she has always intended to live. She refuses to conform to be anyone else but her.

Carmen has no regrets. Everything she’s done has lead her to where she is now and she is genuinely happy and secure.

Carmen does not have an aesthetic because she is one. And she changes with the seasons.

He knew that as soon as the dust had cleared on the wedding, Harrison needed to check in with Carmen. While many may not have realized it due to how both of them had come into the mafia, the two of them went back a long time and the presidents wife had actually been one of, if not his oldest friend. He didn’t actually have many friends left over from his misspent youth and it was why he was so as committed to their friendship as he was. She didn’t ditch him all those years ago so he was always there for her. After a long talk, he managed to get Carmen to come to his place. He knew that it would have been safe for her to be there and considered it the safest places, second to only her home with Gus. He waited by the door for her arrival giving her a nod as a greeting as she came into focus. “ I have a lot of alcohol ready for us. “

Carmen never missed a beat. While the Scorpions had a devastating loss, she still had to continue fulfilling her duties. Everyone did. More than ever, the Scorpions were targets and it left an ick. After taking and oath and saying her vows, they still didn’t compare to the history of her and Harrison. They both grew up in front of each other, truthfully. While she was well aware there was no worst time than now to go have a chat with her friend, that didn’t stop her. She skipped up the steps, smiling up at him as she shoved the bottle of her family’s tequila in his hands. It wouldn’t be the first time. “That’s great, and I just added another handle on top of it,” she mused and gave him a quick hug. 

“Homicidal weddings don’t look too bad on us, don’t ya think?" She joked and her eyes widened. “Too soon? Fuck. Sorry. I’m just happy to be alive!”

It was moments like these that brought much-needed peace for the man. Staying with Carmen in their bed, letting the comforting silence consume them was all that he needed. His hand moved to the side of her face, gently moving the loose strange away, letting him enjoy her ethereal beauty. “Anything for you, mi amor.” Guasparre spoke, allowing himself a few more moments of closeness before Carmen eventually pulled away. His hand slid down her body, eventually resting on her waist to still keep some kind of comfort from her.

“Much better with you by my side.” He replied, ignoring the buzzing of both of their phones. What happened last night was terrifying, and he knew it was a matter of minutes before both of them would get lost in it, but for now, he wanted to be selfish and just enjoy the fact that his wife was here, with him. “Did you sleep okay?”

Carmen was very aware of her husbands role in life. He had been Scorpion President long before she came into it. She admired the way he could brush off his own issues to put everyone before himself. His hand lingering on her giving Carmen the attention she wanted from him. Tomorrow was never promised and she would bask being able to wake up to the sight of him. “Really? Anything?” She asked again, a few ideas in her head already brewing. She pushed herself up towards his face again, placing a long kiss on his lips. The feeling of the small sore cut on her lip stinging against his yet she wouldn’t pull away.

A small hum escaping her as his body heated up against hers. Gus’ comforting words wrapping around her as she batted her eyelashes at him. No one could drag her out of this bed with him even if they tried. She rubbed her hand against his arm, grazing her nails against the bruises on his body. “I slept perfectly next to you, my love,” she said to him. She observed the minor injuries he sustained from his fight and Carmen’s heart pounded with anguish. She felt awful from last nights events. “Now what, Guasparre?” She asked him.

If only she knew what to say. She couldn’t. Everything hurt. Every little words hurt and when she opened up her mouth to speak. Nothing came out. The only thing she was able to do was to thank those around her came out. Offered to help. Those who brought both food, flowers and offered to help with the kids. No one knew this was going to happen. Apart of her wonder had she gone to Gus sooner about the unwanted guest, would her sister still be alive. It was unlikely. This was a planned attack on her life. Her life had been targeted because she was associated with the gang. She deserved it in a way as she was the reason she was in the gang. Julia had always kept her head down, and hers was the one that was supposed to be dead. Her sister saved her, she took the ultimate sacrifice. The one things she wanted no one could give her that back. “ I’m fine. “ She lied. Her voice was heavy and she knew Carman could tell it was a lie. “ The kids like it when you guys are here. “ Julia’s words were short. The easiest way to make it so she wouldn’t break down into tears in front of her kids. “ I promise I will, if I need anything. “ 

Carmen hugged Julia, rubbing her back as she gently pulled away and picked up Beck. She guided them away from the front door, joining them in the kitchen as she looked at the brunette. She looked exhausted, which was expected after the night she had. She probably didn’t even sleep. “Whatever you need,” she said, placing a hand on hers as the silence filled the room. Carmen felt so guilty for her loss but truly there was morning anyone could do. “Have you slept, honey? I can watch the kids for you if you want to take a nap.”

Carmen didn’t have time to dwell on miserable people. After everything, she wanted to make sure her own were healing properly. They did not have time to waste anymore and it was go time. Making her rounds through Mercy Hospital was extremely depressing but it was for their own good. The amount of those who sustained injuries deserved answers and some sort of show of courage from their superiors. The box of food in her hand as she clicked down the hall way to the next victim, Winter. She was horrified at what happened to her, putting on a brave face as she entered the room to find her out of her bed suspiciously. Carmen raised an eyebrow, swinging the door closed behind her as she faced her with the food in her hands. “Where ya’ going?” She asked entertained by her antics already. She placed the food down in front of her with a grin. “Sit down, eat. Rest.”

As soon as the word crossed her path, she knew she needed to check in with him. She was an advisor to this life and she was livid one of her own got hurt. Despite everything they had been through, she would always have him in her best interests. It was easy enough for Carmen to find out where he was and where he was staying with her extensive network. After spending the last few hours grieving the death of Kate Montgomery, she said her condolences to the Montgomery family with her association. Heading off for her day, she said goodbye to her husband and set off to Mercy Hospital, checking off her necessary rounds after the devastation caused by the Vipers. 

Her stilettos clicking against the hospital floor tiles as the fluorescent lighting made her eyes sting more. She found her breath a moment before she knocked on the door, which was the most announcement he would get of her recent arrival. She twisted the door knob open, her eyes setting on the paramedic in his vulnerable state. “Oh– god, Brandon,” she said, looking at him and a shaky breath left her as she stood at the door frame.

Just to have Carmen next to him was absolute relief. To know that she was okay, that she was alive after a night like that was everything that Guasparre needed to know. Moving close to his wife, Guasparre finally managed a smile- a genuine one- as he watched Carmen wake up. How had he gotten so lucky to have her? How could he had gotten so lucky to have her tolerate him and accept everything that came with him?

“At someone very, very beautiful who had decided to share the bed with me.” Guasparre smiled, wrapping his arms around her to pulll her closer to him. With Carmen in his arms, it was almost as if last night’s worries were starting to fade away, and now, he didn’t want to let go of her. “Have I told you recently how much I love you?”

Carmen gazed into his hazel hues, resting her forehead against his. It was the quiet moments like these between them that made everything standstill for a second. Their phones vibrating on their respective nightstands as the week started, once again. His sweet words making her beam with happiness. She couldn’t help but fall in love with him everyday. “You’re very sweet,” she said, letting herself melt in his embrace. She was grateful to be close to him another morning. She backed away to get a better look at him. “I love you so much,” she told him. Carmen counted her lucky stars that Guasparre was next to her.

Since arriving home it had still not fully hit Julia. The reality that her sister was gone. Kate was gone. It made her heart sink to her stomach to even have it cross her mind. She kept it out it. It was not only better for her own mental health, but for her kids. Her daughter had refused to let her mother go. She clung to her like a koala. Both of the kids knew something was up, yet Julia was not going to be the one who broke the news to her four year old. His favorite aunt was gone. Tears swelled at the corner of her eyes the moment she saw Carmen enter the home. Cove slept soundly on her shoulder, her tiny hand holding tight to her mother shirt. ‘ i’m so sorry. ‘ the words echoed in one ear and out the other. She felt so hollow and broken. Julia had to wipe them away. She couldn’t cry, not in front of her son. The little boy hugging Carmen the moment he saw her. His words a mix of english and spanish. “ Yea. “ Julia breathed softly trying to give the brunette her best smile. “ Thanks. “ Julia’s whispered words were shaky, it trembled her voice.

Carmen never had to experience what Julia was going through, fortunately. She knew she probably didn’t have a lot to say, or even want to be surrounded by people. But, in her family, they were there for each other during low moments. Not every low moment, but the general moral was taught. Carmen believed in having good company and sharing a meal wasn’t too intrusive. It could take things off their minds, if anything. She guided the boy in deeper into the house and put the bags down on the kitchen counter. “Do you need anything?” She asked, before she shook her head. 

“I mean– if you need anything, you know we’re always here for you. Gus and I are beyond ourselves this ever happened.”

Carmen was devastated for Julia. She went from having on the happiest days of her life to quickly saying goodbye to her sister. Carmen would never understand the pain she was going through but the least she could was offer a supportive hand. Ordering take out from L’oro di Napoli for lunch for the entire family and herself, she made her way over to Julia and the kids. Knocking the door, she felt a little nervous to see her. She didn’t know what to expect but it wasn’t going to be any sort of celebration, unfortunately. As the door opened, a sincere grin appeared on her face. 

“Hungry?” she asked her, lifting the take out bag. Her facial expressions dropping as soon as she saw the female, raising her arms out, “I’m so sorry, Julia.”

His body was aching from the fight and his night was restless, so when he heard his phone buzz, Guasparre was immediately awake. People were checking in on one another, he expected at least that from everyone, and in a way, it was a relief to know that there hadn’t been any more deaths. Going through the messages, he eventually placed the phone back down on the nighstand, allowing himself  a few moments to gather his strength. During times like these, it felt like his age was finally catchig up to him, and Gus was feeling exhausted. With a deep sigh, he moved, turning in the bed to face Carmen, needing to see her, to know that at least she was okay after the last night’s events.

Reunited at last after a long night of chaos. Carmen slept peacefully next to her husband despite how awful she felt for others. She was grateful she was fortunate enough to have escaped with just a few minor injuries. In a twisted way, Irina had her back. She knew the blond wouldn’t do anything too awful to her. She adored a man, just like Carmen did. As the sun peaked in through the blinds of their bedroom, she groaned a little and turned around, aware of his presence. The sunrise forcing her awake as her eyes fluttered open to find his on her. A gentle grin forming on her features as she scooted closer to him. She wrapped her arms gently around his warm body, intertwining her bare body with his. 

“Whatcha’ lookin’ at?” She asked him in a groggy voice.

Carmen let out a little laugh and shook her head. While she had experienced what felt like every man out there on the market, no one was like Guasparre. He was different from anyone she had ever connected with. And she knew what kind of man he was. She was more than sure Rocco knew his father, too. “You and me both, Roc,” she said and smiled at those around them. “You know one day I think I’m just going to lock up his office so he can’t get into it,” she joked around. 

Taking his hand as she followed him onto the dance floor, she swayed to the music with him. The brunette smiled at those passing by with sweet expressions on their face watching them. Carmen was happy she was here with her family members despite everything they had been through. Being in a family like theirs was a challenge of its own. “Yes, it’s Rio,” she confirmed to him with a laugh. “I’m so glad to hear that!” She told him approving with glee. “You seem happy with each other. You know that’s rare now-a-days?” She told him with a look on her face. “That’s coming from someone who’s happily re-married.”

   To hope that his father would somehow be changed by Carmen was a tall order, and he knew that. Not even Genevieve could have changed his father wholly. But of course, there was no part of him that doubted that the woman before him would try her darnest, at least. “That’ll be the day.” he wistfully uttered, knowing that it would take a lot before that day could truly come.

   Rio elicited another laugh from him, as they continued to dance together. “Maybe I’m taking a page out of you and my dad’s book.” he shared, knowing that Carmen and his father was very much in-love; anyone would be daft not to see it. “You know, sometimes, it’s all we can ask for. For happiness.” Spinning his step-mother around, Rocco caught her in his arms, before pausing to grace her with a genuine smile he pulled out from the depths of his warm being. “And I truly am happy, Carmen. I really am.”
