I understand his mom being scared for her son because it suddenly hits you that your child will have a different reality a more difficult reality

But ppl dont understand that we knowww

We know the dangers weve been thinking about them since we knew we were gay

Some ppl use those dangers and convince themselves they have to live a straight passing life and are miserable forever

The weight of the closet is so suffocating that all these dangers which are a nightmare to live through or think about cant even compare

Living a lie is not living at all, once you are your authentic self you realize how much all the lying, "not saying the full truth" or even just secretly living your truth was weighing on you

I appreciate how Vito doesn’t have a over dramatised being kicked out backstory but rather a conscious choice to leave an environment that didn’t want him

my god finally i'm home...the clip...the clip...best thing ever. literally best thing ever, i'm so happy. one of my very favorite so far. some musings in no particular order:

love that it's framed by jakov's camera with their convo in the middle. lovro telling him to stop filming for a sec really underscores it as a moment of complete vulnerability and sincerity. there's something i want to talk to you about and i don't want to perform...but at the same time i love the little bits of them filming each other, us seeing lovro through jakov's eyes and vice versa...these bits are so lovely and such an expression of love.

love the location. it's their hang out spot but it's also outside, in an open & public space, during the day. and it's so bright! the sun is shining! it really gives the scene such a hopeful tone & contrasts it with convos with vito & ema. there's a really strong sense of letting go of, you know, shame and desire to hide.

the flow of the conversation. the way jakov says "person..." like he gets some sort of an idea but continues to name girls bc he instinctively wants to make the conversation lighter to make it easier for lovro to say whatever he wants to say...and lovro just says "i'm just gonna tell you." and then it takes him good 30 seconds to actually gather courage to do so. borna's acting btw, oh my god? he just continues to amaze me.

thank fucking god the writers dropped that dumbass "is it me?" line.

jakov really loves lovro so much it's crazy. he's so gently encouraging but genuinely indignant with "why would i be disgusted by you?"

i mentioned it yday but again i just love how with every conversation we get a glimpse of the progression of lovro's understanding of his own feelings! "i guess i'm a little more sure of that." he really mulled over what ema said to him yday.

the palpable sense of relief and the way lovro gets so emotive and shows jakov ivan's message!!! he was deleting every message he'd get from ivan and now he's showing them to jakov! love and trust......ooooh love and trust and friendship the best things in the world. the most important things.

what really made the coming out scene for me is the throwback to the camera metaphor @indimlights mentioned (on Instagram) in the New Year's party clip analysis

there, they said that the camera represents Lovro's idea of what Jakov thinks of Lovro, like his performance for the camera/Jakov

before Lovro comes out we can see him skating and doing tricks and all that (read: performing for the camera) but after he comes out we can see his falls

it's like he is letting Jakov finally see these "imperfections" or more accurately in the context of the scene his struggles and his performance-less self

i never doubt them yet sram still manages to surprise me every single time. they’re on a higher frequency than the rest of us i fear

Started freaking out in happiness the moment Ema appeared

the way his eyes widen when he recognizes the severity of the situation - that they aren't just fighting like a normal couple - and sees rokos abusive behaviour instantly for what it is

the way he shuts down and freezes when roko yells at him 💔

eva looking at him for help bc she knows roko will only listen if a man tells him to leave (sigh)

despite freezing (probably because this is all to familiar with his parents), he manages to be strong and stand up to roko, protecting nora and in a way, healing his inner child because he's not a kid anymore and proving to himself he is strong enough to stand up to violence (yes this is a headcannon and maybe a stretch its just how i see it)

despite being bad with words, finding the right ones to console nora and advise her to leave roko and not fall into the cycle of abuse

the amount of depth this two minute clip added to his character, on top of focusing on nora and rokos storyline, and depicting how normalized and common abuse can be in balkan relationships - sram you have outdone yourself.

everyone can go cry i fucking loved this clip and how it shows and addresses rokos anger issues for what they really are and ALSO addresses the stupid ass amsterdam plot, veering off the path and removing the rose tinted glasses nora had on this relationship. lovro bouncing off his own family situation and relating the event to ivan and sonja is really well done too
