I knew like 3 things about the series when I started and all of them were from dmc5. I spent a lot of time missing Vergil... before he wrecked my property and beat my ass 10000 times

Such a short yet impactful part of the DBZ series. The History of Trunks is my favorite special. I had to redraw my previous piece to try and do this special justice.

Either Capcom's social media managers are trying to make the best of the Alex situation by cheekily leaning into it...or they really are just trying their absolute hardest to ignore the elephant and pretend everything is fine. That there's nothing controversial about Alex being a father now, especially not after they patched out the misleading dialogue.
You know, in all seriousness, the whole Alex cousin botch job is so personally disappointing because I JUST became a father myself and he's my favorite SF character. Alex being a father SHOULD have been something that deeply resonated with me. Not just the father bit, but just about finding love and family, about Alex being a kind and caring husband, father and friend despite his hard exterior. Him having a new father in Tom and being mentored by Tom is heartwarming.
His story could have been SO GOOD, and they fucked it all up because of how clueless they were. All the ingredients were there, they had the perfect recipe, they had Kenny Omega and a whole new theme, whole new heel aura, great animations, he plays better than ever...
...and then they threw a rat turd in it...because they thought it was garnish...

I also had no problems with Alex being a dad, in fact, I loved the fact that all in one season, we get a single mother and a new father. Cool, Year 3 really said, "shout out to all the moms and dads of the Street Fighter community and just the Fighting Game Community as a whole," but as mentioned, and as everyone knows, they fucked it sideways with no lube.
It sucks that the recurring theme of Street Fighter 6 as a whole is that Capcom gives a good start, then throws a row of bear traps to mess everything and everyone up. Alex's horrible lore in SF6 is just one of the many symptoms SF6 suffers from. I could go on, but this is about a few of the writers working on SF6 convincing me and many Alex fans that they HATE Alex.
Capcom is never beating the "We hate Alex" allegations 😭😭
