Shockwave heard him. He deactivated security temporarily, and tapped a key, watching the door slide open. Turning to Cyclonus and the Sweeps, Shockwave saluted. “Welcome back. It has been a long time.” He tilted his head to the side. “...Skywarp.” The readings he’d had showed that Skywarp was the one turned into Cyclonus, however, naturally, these readings could be very incorrect. And he knew that, even if this was the case, he was no longer who he used to be.
Shockwave counted up the group, analyzing them. One had an...Autobot energy signature, but he ignored it for now. Decepticons never worked with Autobots unless a situation was dire, and with the energon they had and Cyclonus appearing to lead them, he doubted they were in any problematic situation, so his scanner, naturally, must be bugged. He’d check it later.
“We’ve been having trouble keeping some of the Sentinels under control. To make matters worse, more and more Autobots are appearing and attacking from the shadows. It’s becoming a bit of a...pest problem. But with sufficient energon, as we will surely now have, we will surely crush these rebellions underfoot. But...saving our planet is...another matter.”
Shockwave sighed. He walked to his terminal, punching in a few keys and bringing up a visual feed of the core. It was...dark. There was a very faint glow from the center, but it was weak. And getting weaker.
“The pathetic Quintessons have been leeching power from Cybertron’s very core. And it is dying. If it truly goes dark, I do not believe it can be brought online again. Our planet will be uninhabitable for the rest of recorded time.” He turned to Cyclonus. “If you have Galvatron on the ship, he must know of this, so that we can endeavor to stop this from hap-...”
He’d looked at the Autobot again, and finally recognized him. One of the Prime’s components. So, he gave his usual reaction to an Autobot in his base.
“Autobot!” Shockwave shouted, raising his blaster arm and preparing to fire. He didn’t realize that, not only was this ‘Autobot’ on their side, but that he was also so low on energy that two blasts would force him into stasis, as the rest of his systems wouldn’t be able to keep up with the power drain. If he was permitted to attack, he would, in human terms, fire twice and promptly pass the heck out.
