V didn't accept Arasaka's offer to keep her soul secured until they found a new compatible body for her. She returned to earth until her last breath, leaving Takemura alone in the Mikoshi station. It broke her heart, but fate will reunite the two of them later in Night City before The Reaper comes to take her away for good. Back to Takamatsu in the Kagawa prefecture in Japan, Takemura will release her ashes to the sea so that she can remain free even in death. He'll leave Arasaka after that.

Her main job was to scan within their internal network, find moles or anyone trying to turn on the company, and get rid of them quietly. Now she's a merc with terrifying netrunning skills and plenty of charisma.
