Look To Our Worst Angels: Chapter Nine

It's Charlie's first hour on the job at the half-constructed relief camp they're trying to build in Envy and her ex-boyfriend is already promising to be a situation in himself. Seviathan has his orders from the Prince of the Envy Ring himself but that doesn't mean he can't have a little fun making the princess miserable. Quitting is not an option for either of them. Meanwhile, the hospitals in Sloth are starting to see the effects of having an outbreak on their doorsteps. Baphomet is on the scene, in place of Belphegor, and Lucifer will arrive soon enough to see the source of the outbreak for himself. However, with the numbers overwhelming the staff, and symptoms worsening by the hour- hope for this ending early is breaking.

Almost Done With Chapter 8... I Swear!

Carefully keeping his expression unchanged Lucifer regarded his daughter seriously. A flurry of emotions passed over her face the moment he held his hand out. Fear. Hesitation. Worry. That wasn’t like her at all. Had something happened he wasn’t aware of? A deal gone bad? Someone taking advantage of her or Vaggie? Each new thought made flames lick at the corner of his mind, ready, and more than willing to burn the perpetrator into ash. Lucifer pulled himself back just in time to see a hard resolution enter his daughter's eyes.

The moment felt like it lasted 10 minutes but really Charlie had only paused for a few heartbeats of consideration. Then her hand reached out and grasped her father's. As soon as he returned her grip, she immediately felt the connection between them strengthen. His magic was familiar as it tingled up her arm. To her it'd always felt like a warm hug. Sometimes sparkling with joy and excitement. Sometimes strong enough to fight dragons. Sometimes so comforting she felt like she could fall into it.

I just have to clean it up and post it. My sweet Lucifer, this chapter took way longer than anticipated. By the weekend... Promise.

Heavenly Neighbor

One Shot. I don't even know what this is. This meeting just wouldn't leave my head. Surprise cameo in Heaven.

Charlie is having a stressful time the last few days. Even though Sera invited her and Vaggie to present their case for redemption in a less imposing manner than the first time it doesn't seem the higher angels are any more interested in hearing them out. Frustrated and angry, Charlie finds herself having a heart to heart with one of Heaven's Winners. Will this neighborly soul get Charlie's spirits back up?

Like a crazy person I have decided to restart One Piece from the beginning. Ha! What was I thinking? Anyway... I just finished up Alabasta and was hit with the urge to write this little scene of the Strawhats getting from that alleyway to the room at the palace we see them in later. Call it a deleted scene or an in-between-the-lines-scene.

New Addition to my shorts collection

I've always wondered about the strange pairing of those two baking together at the start of ep. 5 when they were getting ready for Lucifer's visit. So, I did a little in-between for it.

A little puff of dust was swept from the old pages. Niffty screeched and leaped on top of it. She wiped the spot thoroughly before being satisfied. Eagerly, the tiny Sinner leaped to her feet again, clapping her hands. "Ooh! Ooh! Ooh!" She exclaimed excitedly. Nearly bouncing herself right off the very tall table. "We can decorate them after, with the icing."

The snake inventor nodded in a quick agreement and began prepping what they needed. Niffty shot across the table, grabbing different ingredients, and spoons with wild abandon.

"Gonna cook. Gonna cook. Make sure all is perfect for him. Pieces of him where they won't look." Niffty sing-songed to herself as she went to work on getting her part of the ingredients ready.

Feeling a shiver go down his spine, quite a feat for a snake, Pentious eyed the zippy woman with a large amount of caution once he deciphered her muttering words.

Fizzarolli meets his lover's brother and niece, who just happen to be the king, and princess of Hell. He's totally not freaking out about it by the way.

The first night away concludes on a high note and Charlie's figured out that if she wants to help her dad and her people then she needs to find a way to prove herself to the other Rings. If she's gonna step up into that spot then there's a lot of work she'll have to do. Now more than ever she's gonna have to be ready for the unexpected.

WIP- Upcoming Chapter- LTOWA

"You know, I remember my first project, I forgot how long ago it was now. It was just after me and Mom moved out of the mansion."

Charlie hesitated and looked cautiously at her dad as she said this, unsure of his response, and not wanting push the wrong buttons after the tense meeting. It must've been so hard for him after they'd left. Neither had really spoken about it yet. It was easy enough to sidestep and they both were guilty of avoiding the topic. Especially with rebuilding the hotel and getting everyone back on their feet.

For Lucifer's part he continued to chew on his sandwich. The pang of loss he'd become familiar with after the separation was lessened with his daughter sitting beside him now. So, he gave her a weak smile and that seemed to reassure her enough to continue the story. Lucifer had to admit he was curious about the parts of his daughter's life that he'd let slip through his fingers.

"I was staying with Bee at the time while Mom transferred our belongings. Bee had wanted to do something for the Hellhounds. She said something had happened, I never really heard what, and a bunch of them from her Ring we're in trouble. So, we started a program that would take care of the younger ones. You know, if they didn't have parents, or couldn't take care of themselves."

Fizzarolli cocked his head questioningly. That sounded similar to what he knew was the broken orphanage system that Blitz had gone through to adopt the daughter he bragged so much about.

"You mean the orphanage system up in Gluttony?" Fizz clarified with a crooked frown. She grinned and nodded. He didn't have the heart to tell the princess that her efforts had turned into more of caged cells for the poor young Hellhounds caught up in the system.
